Chapter 1256: Chapter 506: ”Simple Handicraft

After returning to his private area, Ron immediately took out a piece of parchment from the Storage Bag.

This was the Multi-element Soup Preparation Method provided by the Extraordinary Comprehensive Guide.

”Since Professor Yutel suggested I do some ’simple handicraft activities’...”

He looked at the recipe, his eyes full of eagerness:

”Then cooking should be the best choice, right?”

In his plan, this was indeed a perfect arrangement that killed many birds with one stone:

It allowed him to relax his spirit as per the professor’s suggestion, practice the theoretical knowledge learned from the Extraordinary Comprehensive Guide, and also prepare for the upcoming bloodline coordination.

”Ailan, Dale!” As soon as he returned, he called for the two attendants:

”I need some special ingredients. Can you help me procure them?”

Soon, Ailan’s green figure appeared in the room.

When she heard the words ”personally cook,” her green branches noticeably trembled.

In the memory of a Tree Spirit, her master always regarded time as the most precious resource, spending every moment on cultivation, research, or contemplation.

This was almost unheard of, merely spending time to ”try something out.”

”Master, you seem to be in a good mood today.”

Ailan cautiously spoke, afraid to disrupt the rare relaxed atmosphere:

”However, you seem a bit mentally unwell. Shouldn’t you rest a bit more?”

As a bloodline attendant naturally linked to him, Ailan could perceive Ron’s unusual mental state.

The weakness from excessive exhaustion made her very concerned.

”I’m fine, just want to try making a special soup.”

Ron handed her the recipe:

”Take a look. Can we buy these ingredients at the Observation Station?”

Ailan took the parchment and carefully read its contents.

As she delved deeper, her eyes showed clear surprise:

”Fiery Mushrooms, Deep Sea Kelp, Mountain Mint, Stone Carrot... This is a very special element coordination dish.”

”Moreover...” Her parchment rolled up, she looked worriedly at her master:

”Master, although these ingredients aren’t rare, the transportation cost is quite significant in such a special environment like the Abyssal Observation Station.”

Ailan began to explain the difficulties in detail:

”The Observation Station is located at the edge of the Great Abyss, where the surroundings are corrosive to most normal plants.”

”All fresh ingredients need Protective Runes to be transported from the Main World.”

”Every batch of ingredients requires consuming a large amount of Magic Stones to maintain the stable operation of the runes, as well as paying high anti-corrosion processing fees.”

She pointed at each item on the recipe:

”For example, this ’Mountain Mint’, costs only a few Magic Stone Fragments in the Main World, but after reaching the Observation Station, the price would more than tenfold.”

”’Stone Carrot’ is more troublesome. This vegetable that needs specific soil to grow is already quite scarce, coupled with transportation losses...”

Ailan quickly calculated:

”To fully purchase this set of ingredients, it would cost about three to five Magic Stones.”

Hearing this number, Ron couldn’t help but blink.

Three to five Magic Stones, that’s equivalent to a year’s total expenses for an Intermediate Apprentice.

When he was an Intermediate Apprentice, he barely earned that amount after a month’s hard work refining Magic Potions.

Using it to make a pot of soup now does seem a bit extravagant.

But considering the soup’s potential value to him, he firmly nodded:

”It’s okay, just purchase according to the recipe. I’ll give it a try. Money is not an issue.”

”Alright, Master. I’ll contact the suppliers now.”

Ailan, although pained at the Magic Stones, could only comply since her master insisted.

About an hour later, all ingredients were delivered to the advanced kitchen of the Observation Station.

This was a luxurious facility equipped for senior researchers, featuring various advanced cooking equipment and a complete ventilation system.

But the problem was, almost no one used it since everyone opted for more convenient and nutritious special pastes.

For Ron, ever since arriving here, his three meals a day were carefully prepared by Ailan.

Occasionally when he wanted something special, he would directly go to high-end restaurants in the Central Lands.

To actually cook by himself, this was the first time.

”Let me look at the recipe... First, handle the Fiery Mushrooms...”

Ron picked up the mushroom that emitted a faint red glow and began slicing according to the instructions on the recipe.

But he clearly underestimated the difficulty of this special ingredient.

The surface temperature of the Fiery Mushroom was near boiling water, an ordinary knife couldn’t slice it properly.

As soon as the blade touched it, there was a sizzling sound, and the mushroom’s juice splattered everywhere like lava.

”Ah!”

A drop of the high-temperature juice splashed onto the back of his hand.

Although he had high temperature resistance due to his Thunderfire Tyrant bloodline, it didn’t mean he couldn’t feel pain.

Ron instinctively shook his hand, resulting in the entire mushroom flying off, crashing to the ground and shattering into pieces. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

”Master!”

Ailan couldn’t help but step forward upon seeing this, wanting to assist him.

But Ron quickly waved his hand to stop her:

”No need, I’ll do it myself. This is a... learning experience.”

He insisted that making the soup himself was an important process of integrating theory with practice.

If Ailan did it for him, it would lose its original meaning.

”But Master...”

Ailan’s voice was full of concern:

”Continuing like this, you’ll not only waste ingredients but might also get hurt.”

She watched as Ron picked up the second Fiery Mushroom and carefully attempted to slice it again this time.
