Apocalypse Forecast

Countless specks of dust fluttered down, settling upon that vacant, twisted face. Such an intimate pin against the wall, yet it couldn’t make the other feel any warmth.

There was no heart racing like a frightened deer, only horror as if trampled by a rampaging elephant.

Even Ghosts possess the instinct to seek advantages and avoid harm. Otherwise, why do they always scare little children and bully young girls? Why not go after retired soldier kings, or those brawny men who return after a decade in the army only to find their daughters living in dog kennels?

The seemingly soft target, like a Transformer, instantly changed and became a hand grenade at arm’s reach.

Even the mad Remnant Souls felt a moment of terror and fear.

Then, they saw the roiling darkness rising behind Huai Shi, and within the darkness, countless hungry and ferocious crimson eyes.

The Blade of Resent swept by, and in an instant, the eerie shadow disappeared without a trace. Not even that set of White Clothes was left behind, devoured by the ravenous Ravens.

Is this it?

Huai Shi scratched his head, surveying the space behind him.

There was no sign of Zhenxi, but he could sense her condition.

Since he suspected something might be amiss in the Haunted House, Huai Shi naturally hadn’t forgotten to keep an eye on his employer. Two Ravens, materialized from Source Substance, were hiding inside the balloons in her hand. It was because of this that he could perceive an absurd sense of peculiarity—Zhenxi’s mood seemed to be as calm as ever, even excited and amazed.

That silly girl—she couldn’t possibly think that what she was seeing was just another Haunted House gag, could she?

Enough already.

But since he could confirm she wouldn’t encounter any danger for the time being, he could focus on resolving everything before him.

Behind the wide-open doors in front of Huai Shi, in the genuine morgue, all the cabinets began to tremble violently at the same moment.

The sharp screech of cabinet doors rubbing against their frames burst forth continuously.

Those who lay in the Deep Sleep of low temperatures opened their eyes once more. They writhed their rapidly mutating limbs, crawling slowly on the ground like Spiders, using both hands and feet to move across walls and ceilings.

Pale faces lifted at odd angles, their hollow eyes reflecting the lonely figure of Huaizhi Sushi.

A high-pitched shriek filled the air.

At this very moment, here and now, everything within the Haunted House became completely sealed off, utterly different from the Current Circumstances, the instant the Mystic Ritual was activated.

—Artificial Miniature Hell: Demon Meeting Time!

All the nightmarish scenes from the tourists’ dreams slithered out of illusion and crawled towards Huai Shi.

Viscous blood rained down drop by drop from the ceiling, landing in Huai Shi’s hands, where it rapidly decayed, dried up, and turned into dim dust.

The stench of corpses, mixed with the odor of preservative fluids, grew ever more intense.

Huai Shi couldn’t help but nod in admiration.

This is more like it.

A good show... a shame there are too few performers.

”At least hire a few more extras,” he said.

In his hand, the hilt of the Blade of Resent turned slightly. With a flick of his wrist, the wailing blade swept forward. Its intensely trembling edge, like the hungry maws of countless Ravens, instantly sliced through the corpses lunging at him. Immediately after, several gruesome fragments fell to the ground.

The uneven gashes resembled marks pecked out by bird beaks.

They continued to spasm but quickly turned into mist. The mist couldn’t disperse because, before it could, the Ravens of the Buried Sacred Place had already feasted gluttonously, not sparing a single wisp.

”Holy! Holy! Holy!!!”

The Ravens cawed excitedly, expressing in their garbled way: The texture is just okay, but this free buffet is pretty good! Not enough, want more, Qiu Li Gao... In short, a whole bunch of nonsense.

Surrounded by the throng of corpses, Huai Shi suddenly grew anxious.

These guys eat so much every day. What if, in the future, they end up like that once-disgraceful Fat Horse back at my place, too fat to fly?

But I can’t worry about that now... Kids need to eat a lot while they’re still growing.

So, amidst the shrieks of the carcasses, Miss Huaizhi looked up, a pleased smile on her face. She expressed her gratitude to the monsters delivered right to her.

”Bon appétit!”

The piercing shriek of Iron Crystal Growth erupted. The Tachi’s length swiftly extended; Grudge was growing, transforming in an instant to a colossal size that almost filled the entire morgue.

Twelve point four five three meters!

In the darkness, ’Ugly,’ who was spying on this place, froze, finding it hard to believe.

What the hell is that thing?

Like an iron bar mounted between walls, Grudge hummed lowly, overflowing with a ferocious bloody light and a chilling gleam.

Now, following Huai Shi’s movements, the massive Sharp Blade slowly lifted, and then, it began its brutal whirl!

The last sound heard was a crisp SNAP—the sound of Huai Shi closing the main door behind him, just like pressing the switch on a juicer. Shrill shrieks then burst forth, engulfing everything.

Not limited to holding the hilt, Huai Shi’s fleeting figure darted forward. Raising just a fingertip, he propped up Grudge’s fulcrum, guiding and pulling the raging blade into a whirl!

The storm began at that moment.

The high-pitched caws of the flock of Ravens overlapped and exploded outward. Countless gruesome sprays of gore splattered in all directions, dyeing everything a ferocious crimson.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

Far from any imagined stiffness, it was agile to a maddening degree.

In the midst of the frenzied spinning, the blade, almost a bladed wheel, continuously retracted and extended, freely changing its scale. With the push of Huai Shi’s hand, it changed angles, sweeping through every corner of the enclosed space.

It left countless deep slashes on the walls, iron cabinets, autopsy tables, and even the carapaces of the monsters.

He was slaughtering the Ghosts at an unparalleled speed.

It was like the advertisements for high-end blenders claimed—breaking the barriers between every cell membrane, fully extracting every last bit of nutrition from the food.

Relentless devastation.

Until all of humanity could be gathered in one place and turned into a cup of nutritious and healthy juice...

When the terrifying whirl abruptly stopped, aside from the figure stained blood-red, not a single intact object remained in the room.

Even the corpse monsters, which could get up and continue fighting after being chopped to pieces, met with literal annihilation in this destruction, precise down to the millimeter—not even bones remained!

Just what kind of monster is that?!

In a gap in the darkness, the Ninja codenamed Ugly was stunned by the horrific sight.

Unbelievable.

My proud dark Mystic Ritual, the endless ’Corpse March,’ so easily crushed and destroyed!

Now, her heart was void of any courage to fight. Only endless fear surged continuously, devouring her reason and Soul, making her desperate to flee.

I must tell ’Zi’! I must tell the others what kind of abomination they’ve awakened!

But at that very moment, an ice-cold hand rested on her shoulder, oh so gently.

A lovely face, stained crimson with blood, slowly peeked out from behind her shoulder. It examined her twisted features, smiled sweetly, and whispered in her ear, ”Found you~”
