Chapter 728: Chapter 594: There Is Light (Thanks to Mr. Lao E, the Alliance Leader_1)

The dying light erupted from the Stone Tooth Sword, shooting out in a straight line. It tore through the darkness, converging into a terrifying beam as if splitting the entire sky dome in two, piercing the limits of Hell’s end, and even plunging into the deepest depths of the Abyss...

A streak of residual light flashed past, gone in an instant.

It grazed Huai Shi’s cheek as it flew by.

The Terrible Burn Wind that followed immediately ignited Huai Shi’s clothes, charring half his body. His skin cracked and broke apart. But quickly, the fissured skin mended, the flames dissipated, and his body returned to wholeness.

Huai Shi continued forward, unscathed, without a single blemish.

In that last moment, Liz finally made her choice.

Her spine bent under the weight of exhaustion, she struggled to breathe.

Yet, she couldn’t help but roar at the air before her.

”Annoying as hell!!!”

Like an irritated child, she swung the cracked Stone Tooth Sword haphazardly, carving ugly fissures into the ground.

”You bastards! Why? What the hell are you doing?! Can’t I... can’t I save you all?!”

But she couldn’t disperse those phantoms that had long since dissipated, just as she couldn’t awaken the dead.

She couldn’t even grab them by their collars and beat those scoundrels to a pulp!

But why... why did you have to side with that bastard?

Liz closed her eyes.

Huai Shi stopped beside her, quietly watching until she finally calmed down and wiped a tear from the corner of her eye.

”Thank you,” he said earnestly.

Her reply was a single, raised middle finger.

Liz didn’t even want to look back at him again. She coldly bid him farewell, ”Drop dead, scumbag!”

Huai Shi stood there, stunned for a long time. He had no idea what he’d done to anger her this time.

After a long while, he nodded with a wry smile. ”Alright.” He looked toward the silent, vast hall ahead. ”I’ll be going then...”

With that, they parted ways, brushing past each other.

Huai Shi reached out and pushed open the final great door before him.

The friction of rusted metal created a shrill screech, but it was soon drowned out by the surging tide that erupted from behind the door.

The mournful wails, carrying eons of accumulated agony, despair, and Grudge, rushed forth from the doorway, once sealed for millennia.

A viscous darkness swept over, instantly engulfing everything.

The entire Eternal Frozen Heart shook violently as a torrent of void-like darkness burst forth from its deepest, sealed confines with the opening of the door.

The illusion of the Beautiful Heavenly Kingdom was ripped apart at this moment.

Accompanied by the terrifying tremors of the Town of Dusk, endless darkness surged into the sky, spreading across this world. A vast tide, formed from millennia of hatred, then poured down from above, swiftly devouring everything! It turned everything within sight into a realm of absolute darkness!

What kind of madness is born from despair that persists for an eternity? And what kind of terrible Disaster forms when an entire Hell’s worth of people are tormented by pain until the end of time...

This was the true power source of the Eternal Frozen Heart: an unceasing fountain of suffering. After eons of accumulation, it had become a sea of despair.

Now, this Pandora’s box of Disaster had been opened. What flowed out was merely a tiny trickle of radiation from the operating core, yet the countless Curses it unleashed were enough to begin dissolving Hell itself...

Mad shrieks echoed in Huai Shi’s ears.

Countless grotesque and crazed faces surfaced from the Dark Ocean, slowly reaching out, pulling, trying to drag him down with them... into this endless pit of despair.

They had long since gone mad, unable to discern salvation from liberation. What remained was not even their former will, but Remnant Souls, utterly warped and shattered by an eternity of darkness and suffering.

Within the grand hall lay an immense black sea, its edges beyond sight.

As the congealed outer shell cracked, those Souls, silenced for long ages, awoke once more from their agony, wailing in pain and cursing everything.

The asphalt-like ocean churned violently, almost spilling out from behind the door.

But everything was restrained by countless rusted Lock Chains, confined and imprisoned within this cage. Even with the door now open, they were not permitted a single step towards freedom...

Numerous phantom-like Lock Chains crisscrossed the hall, eventually converging in one place, twined around a figure in cracked and shattered Armor.

That was the true miraculous creation of the Forgers, embodying all the hopes and beautiful prayers of the Town of Dusk—a management machine created for the imminent Heavenly Kingdom.

The Sun Caster’s ultimate masterwork, a feat of forging surpassing all others, an ’Adam’ destined to pioneer the Future within Paradise.

——Central Command Core: Gear Emperor!

Unfortunately, from the moment of its inception, it was greeted not by Paradise, but by a Hell formed from endless despair.

In its futile resistance, it was controlled by the Hell Workshop Masters and even became the control hub for the Eternal Frozen Heart... Yet, this final perseverance still sheltered its last vestiges of sanity amidst the pain and torment.

During the War of Worlds, it turned this hatred into a dagger, stabbing the Hell Workshop Masters in the back, avenging its kin!
