The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 243: Want To Make Some…

In the end, Shien never did do something stimulating.

Itʼs because he was afraid that Leisha might try to double suicide with him when she gets back.

Taking that possible issue into account, Shien could only make the painful decision… To temporarily leave this matter for later.

Right, itʼs just being left for later, not given up on, you know?

Who knows if Leisha will be able to come back after all?

Maybe sheʼs already dead?

If that happened, then doesnʼt that mean that heʼll be able to do as he liked?

Thus, Shien pushed those thousands of CG down for the time being.

”Youʼll have a chance to shine at some point, donʼt worry about that.”

Shien made a certain promise to those unspeakable memories in his head.

Then, Shien headed for the palace.

Of course, due to her looks, Shien couldnʼt bring Lasha with him, so he could only have her wait for his return somewhere out of the way.

Lasha didnʼt complain at all. She simply immediately turned about and left, and soon disappeared from view.

”She wonʼt be discovered, right?”

Shien had worried about this possibility as well.

However, after thinking more on it, this perfect maid was someone amazing who managed to do as she liked to his body (?) without him ever noticing. She even completely transformed the Latrard home into a magical wonderland without anyone noticing her. Plus, she also found him without any issues or dangers, so thereʼs probably no need to worry that something might happen to her, right?

As he thought that, Shien relaxed some and entered the palace.

After entering the palace, Shien originally wanted to go see Lucy. However, after thinking about how she might still be busy dealing with the abnormalities around the Capitalʼs surrounding areas, Shien decided not to disturb her.

The most important part though is that if he bothered her now, Shien had a certain feeling that heʼll end up getting drafted as that princessʼs helper.

”Letʼs wait until she has some kind of news first.”

Shien had already told that princess to immediately let him know about any new developments after all. She herself agreed too, so thereʼs no need for him t worry so much about it.

Thus, Shien directly headed down to the underground magic library to resume his studies.

Only, due to Lasha, Shien ended up somewhat interested in homunculi. Thus, he ended up looking through the libraryʼs information on that a bit.

After his brief look, Shien did in fact discover a few points of note regarding homunculi.

For example, one must first learn a skill named [Magic – Life Form Creation] in order to create homunculi, as well as the relevant spells within that magic type.

This kind of magic is specialized in creating homunculi. It only has this one effect. However, depending on the type of homunculi that the user wants to create, the required level for the skill and incantation will vary.

Putting everything else aside, if one just wanted to create a golem, then theyʼll only need to raise the [Magic – Life From Creation] skill to level 4, making it possible for the user to cast mid class magic.

But if one were to want to create a homunculus like Lasha, then even if they didnʼt need the homunculus to have combat abilities, theyʼll still need to level the [Magic – Life Form Creation] skill to at least level 6.

Besides that, what determines a homunculusʼ type, form, power, etc. isnʼt just the level of the magic skill, but also the material used and magic power invested.

Thus, this particular magic isnʼt that difficult, but it is very complex. Itʼs not easy at all to create a homunculus that matches oneʼs desires.

Given all this, high leveled, high capability homunculi are generally extremely rare. There are even black markets who will try to sell homunculi as property. Despite the fact that all nations of the mortal world have agreements to not treat homunculi as property to be bought or sold, there are still illegal merchants who do that kind of business acting within each country. This is one of the medium sized problem that every country deals with.

Besides that, Shien also discovered that the appearance of the created homunculus is also not something that can be freely determined.

”Based on the records in the book, itʼs the creatorʼs imagination when using the Life Form Creation magic that determines the form of the homunculus. However, due to the fact that human imagination tends to be blurry without something actual to base off of and the fact that the level of the magic skill will influence the completeness of the homunculus, the created homunculus will often end up somewhat different from what the creator imagined. Thereʼs even the possibility of the homunculus turning out completely different, and in serious cases, it may even come out deformed.”

”Of course, the higher the level of the Life From Creation magic skill, the smaller the likelihood that some mistake will happen during the creation process. However, even someone with a max level skill could very well end up causing minor differences in their created homunculus due to the lack of clarity in their imagination. Thus, creating a homunculus thatʼs exactly like how one imagined is something thatʼs extremely difficult.”

”Thereʼs only one situation thatʼs an exception to this rule.”

”And that is if one had the magic power of a model during the creation process, then there will be a very high likelihood that the created homunculus will end up exactly identical to the donor of that magic power, to the point where the homunculus will even have the same abilities as said donor.

In other words, when creating a homunculus, if the creator wants to wanted one that looked mostly like what they wanted, then they had to first have the magic power of the model that they based their homunculus off of.

Take Leisha for example. She probably used her own magic power during the creation process, which is why she ended up creating a homunculus that looked just like her – aka Lasha.

The twin demons by Jacintaʼs side are probably also created using someoneʼs magic power as a model. Otherwise, they wouldnʼt have looked so completely identical.

Itʼs for that reason that homunculi creation needs to consider not just the material and ability, but also the appearance.

”True enough. If not for those limitations, then all those noblemen would probably be trying to study homunculus creation instead.”

At that point, why would they need any peerless princess? Why not just make one just like her?

Plus, said creation wonʼt be able to disobey her masterʼs orders at all. Sheʼll do whatever her master tells her to do, be put in whatever position that her master wants. Why bother trying to cling to a cold princess then? Why not just enjoy their luxury as nobles rather than simping over her?

Likely, this limitation also lets certain individuals to relax as well, right?

Otherwise, if it really was possible to casually create homunculi that are identical to other people as they liked, then it would definitely cause quite a bit of chaos.

That said though…

”It does kind of feel regretful though…”

Shien does feel like itʼs a shame.

If it really was possible to alter the appearance as he liked, then Shien felt like he really will need to throw everything he has into the art of homunculus creation.

”At that point, Iʼll first make a perfect and elegant head maid. Then Iʼll make a tsundere biribiri electromaster.”

”Then it might be nice to make a King of Knights who also holds a Holy Sword. Plus, wouldnʼt a yandere time spirit also be cute?”
