What Do You Mean I'm The Captain Of A Yandere Mercenary Company?

Chapter 904: She Was Never Running Away

”Fufufu~ You really are full of surprises, Tera~” Vieretha giggled.

I let out a sigh, ”I wouldn’t agree with that... I would say that things just happen around me that lead to it...”

”Fufufu~ But it still doesn’t change the fact that you are indeed interesting to me, Tera~”

”I’m glad you are entertained at least...”

I looked back at the beach where a bunch of girls were all laying underneath the shade on top of beach mats with looks of satisfaction on their faces.

It took a lot of effort from me but I managed to satisfy all of them in the end.

Vieretha then left to head over to the cooking area where the staff had set up, presumably to get a snack or a drink.

I let out a sigh as I relaxed in my seat, going back to just lounging around without a care in the world.

”Mmm~ You were so good just now, Daddy~” Renata praised, taking advantage of the fact that no one else was around to start groping my chest.

I assumed she was referring to how I was handling the tentacles earlier so I chuckled, ”Ahaha~ I still need to get used to handling them. I doubt I’m anywhere close to being as proficient as you are at using them.”

”Ehehehe~ It’s ok, Daddy! I’ll help you practice~”

”Hmmm~ I’ll be depending on you then.”

I looked out to the sea while Renata gave me a boob massage.

A glass was suddenly thrust in front of me and I realised it was a cocktail that Vieretha was offering me to drink.

”Here you go~” She offered with a smile, making me wonder where she got it from since all the staff were still laid down on the ground as well.

I guess there must be some automatic mixer or something that could just dispense this out.

”Thanks... What is this though?”

She settled down on the lounge chair beside mine with a glass of her own, ”It’s a specialty of theirs. I believe it was called Sunrise Paradise or something.”

Looking at the glass, the liquid was a mix of orange and red in colour and smelled mildly of orange and rum.

I took a sip of it and I was pretty sure this was a Rumdriver from the taste.

As expected, this universe somehow could make alcohol taste good so I enjoyed another sip of it while leaning back in my lounge chair.

”Hmmm~ Shall we talk now?” Vieretha suddenly spoke up.

I turned to her, ”Sure? What do you want to talk about?”

”About the things that you are keeping from me of course. Am I not already one of your crew? Why the secrecy?”

Right... I suppose she would be curious about this...

I considered it for a moment before speaking, ”I would like to tell you... But there’s a lot of stuff that I would not want other people to hear... Which is why I said that we would tell you after we leave the station.”

”Hmmm~ Now you have me all curious... Just what kind of secret do you have that you are so worried about?”

”You will understand when we tell you... But I just want to make sure of something...”

She turned to me, tilting her head slightly to wonder what I was going to ask her.

”Once you join my crew... I don’t think you can leave easily... Is that alright with you?”

After all... She would know a lot of stuff about us once she joins us. It would be problematic if she suddenly says she wants to leave and take our secrets with her to potentially spread it around.

That would definitely invite disaster on us so... As much as I hate to say it... Anyone who joins this crew is probably going to be a crew member for life...

Vieretha giggled, ”Fufufu~ Is that all? I had no intention to leave after all~ Unless Tera has been misleading me this entire time of course.”

”Misleading you?”

”Fufufu~ No need to worry, Tera. I believe in my own instincts. And my instincts tell me that I would be following you for a long time~”

I wasn’t going to argue with her about that since that was exactly what we wanted anyway.

She turned to me with a lazy smile on her face, ”So... What is this big secret that you can’t tell anyone outside of your crew, Tera?”

”Like I said... It’s not safe here so I would rather talk about it when we are in private with minimal risk of others overhearing us. I’m sure it would also work with your own plans right? Since you definitely don’t want what you plan getting back to your family.”

She blinked at me for a moment before tilting her head, ”What do you mean, Tera?”

I looked around to make sure her guards weren’t nearby and there was no one else around either.

Because this was a private area, she had also left her guards at a rest building a distance away from the beach where they could still see our blurry figures through the privacy screen but were nowhere near enough to listen in on our conversation.

Just in case, I also had Renata check for any devices that might be recording us nearby before I turned back to speak to Vieretha.

”I mean... You are planning to run away from your family, aren’t you?”

She gave me a look that told me she had no idea what I was talking about.

”Whatever gave you that idea, Tera?” She asked with genuine confusion.

I gestured between us, ”I mean... You’re coming with me and joining my crew, are you not?”

”Yes?”

”Aren’t you doing this to escape from your family? Like... From those guys?” I asked, nodding in the direction of where her bodyguards were stationed.

She looked back at them, then stayed there for a moment as though registering my words before she turned back to me.

”Umm... Tera? I think there’s a misunderstanding somewhere. I’m not leaving my family?”

I frowned, ”But I did tell you they aren’t allowed on board right? And you’re also managing your family’s companies? Aren’t you coming with me to escape from all of that? To be free from the responsibility of being part of the family or something.”

She looked at me for a moment before she started giggling, ”Ufufufufu~ Oh my, oh my~ Tera you really are so unbelievably cute~ Did you think I was trying to stage an escape from my family and you were prepared to take me in despite knowing that you might make an enemy of my family in doing so?”

I raised an eyebrow, ”Wasn’t that why you approached me? I wouldn’t turn away someone who I care about and is asking me for help.”

Unexpectedly, she suddenly threw her cocktail glass away and climbed over on top of my lounge chair to straddle me, the Dragonling leaning down until her face was just inches away from mine.

Her tail snaked up and stroked my cheek tenderly while I got to see her long tongue dart out for a moment to lick the other side of my cheek as though to taste me.

”Oh Tera... If you say anymore than that... I might not be able to hold myself back anymore, you know? Ufufufufu~”

She then gave me a quick peck on the cheek before she pulled back, though she remained seated on top of me and showed no signs of wanting to vacate from that spot.

She reached up to tie up her hair in a ponytail, giving me an unobstructed look of her boobs bouncing in front of her where her bikini top was doing its best to hold back from snapping.

Vieretha relaxed and lifted a finger to boop me on the nose, ”I am not leaving my family, Tera~ And you don’t need to worry about making an enemy of them by taking me in~ For you see~ I am not held down like you think I am and I am free to travel and follow whoever I want~ Those bodyguards are just temporary people I brought along on this trip with me and I can dismiss them whenever I want~ My family has no say in what I do with my own life and I can manage the businesses I own just fine even when I’m travelling with you~”

I blinked, ”Wait... Then that means...”

”Ufufufu~ You are so cute, Tera~ You have me, Vieretha Iceborne of the Iceborne family, as your crewmate and you are free to advertise that however you want~ I am not exiling myself from my family nor will they be doing so~”

Ah...

So I really misunderstood her from the very start? She’s not running away from her family like Mara was and is just joining my crew because...

Err... Wait a minute... If she’s not coming with me because of that... Then why is she so eager to join us then?
