Primordial Villain with a Slave Harem

Chapter 972: Iron Will

His magic snapped once again. Despite his earlier successes at overcoming her suppression efforts. Together with her halberd’s synergistic suppression, she posed a whole new level of challenge he needed to overcome.

Quinlan gasped as he felt his magical aura flickering violently. A slash of dissonance tore through his mana veins. For three whole seconds, he couldn’t feel his connection to his core at all.

”Numbers are meaningless,” Sareth declared with a monotone tone that was oddly reminiscent of Black Fang.

Her next step shattered the floor.

”[Iron Will: Gravity Crush]!”

A pulse of gravitational force slammed out in a twenty-meter radius all around her. The team was flattened unless they countered or endured it.

Kitsara’s spell fizzled out just as she felt like she was getting the hang of it. Feng screamed as she was pinned, way too out of her weight class in this fight. Blossom phased halfway into the Void but was yanked back. Her nose started bleeding.

Only Vex and Quinlan stood through it. The earth buckled beneath his boots, but he stood, his shoulders trembling violently and eyes observing his enemy with great scrutiny. This Sareth woman was immensely powerful. He had to be careful, knowing one mistake was all it’s going to take for tragedy to strike.

Vex was already moving.

A violet triangle of hexes became visible around her body.

”[Hex: Rotting Veinbind].” She aimed at Sareth’s knees, to sap her dexterity.

”[Hex: Arcane Immunosiphon]!” This one was cast on herself. Any magic suppression now fueled her resistance.

A burst of malice escaped her lips. ”I’ve wanted to fight you for a long time! You certainly didn’t disappoint.”

”Of course not,” Sareth replied flatly.

She stepped through Vex’s curse like it were mist. Her class, called Warden of the Severed Chain, bled Anti-Magic with every breath. Curses bent around her, misfiring off trajectory unless cast with deliberate finesse.

But Vex adapted.

She adjusted her timing, aimed slower, but cleaner. No spam. No panic. Just precision.

Kitsara finally forced a spell through, casting [Illusory Echo Shell] around Quinlan’s body to produce phantoms of movement. It gave Sareth pause.

”Good girl!” Vex congratulated while engaging in a flurry of blows with the woman.

”Don’t patronize me, you horny lunatic!” Kitsara snapped at her, though she was gasping for air just from a single cast. ”You were the one moaning about being milked dry three days ago!”

”Less kink talk, more death spells! Can’t you remain professional even in this situation, you damned sluts?!” Feng shouted, slamming her Gremlord palms together. ᚱ𝒶Νȱ𝐁Ɛ𝙨

[Chaotic Sigil: Glitched Reality]

A burst of unhinged energy exploded forth from her palms. These were neon lines that zigzagged through the air, slicing through space like corrupted code, and punched directly into the core of Sareth’s gravitational field.

The entire battlefield hiccuped.

No, it desynchronized.

The [Iron Will: Gravity Crush], a masterwork of precision control cast by a master of her craft and a truly powerful person, was suddenly trying to function in two separate physics engines at once. Time ticked wrong, spatial pressure warped like a drunken accordion, and localized gravity vectors spiked, then vanished, then reversed for just an instant.

Sareth’s perfectly calibrated stance slipped half a step.

Not from the force emitted by her lower leveled enemies, but because the laws of nature around her momentarily didn’t agree with themselves.

Her brow furrowed, watching her enemies with renewed vigor. ”What strange classes...”

Feng’s eyes lit up like festival lanterns. ”Hehe! You’re not the only one who can disrupt!”

The spell ended as quickly as it came. It was unstable, unreliable, and never to be repeated the same way twice. ”Fuck!” Feng cursed.

But it worked.

For just a sliver of time, the [Iron Will] was Glitched.

And that was all the team needed to strike back.

”[Chain Token: Consume]!” Sareth cast.

*CLANG!* A thunderous pulse sent everyone reeling again.

She had spent her tokens that were collected throughout the battle by parrying strikes and spells aimed at her. She collected enough that their consumption allowed her to achieve multiple outcomes at once: resetting cooldowns, interrupting Vex mid-cast, and stunning the entire zone for one second.

But even this wasn’t enough to slow the pair at the vanguard down in a serious enough manner.

Their eyes met again.

Quinlan burst forward, using Gale Form to swiftly reposition himself behind Sareth.

Vex launched two new hexes toward Sareth’s shadow instead of her body.

Then the others joined in as well. Kitsara created an illusion of Blossom attacking from the front.

Blossom actually came from the ceiling.

Feng’s gremlord ooze hurled a banana peel. (It missed.)

Four warriors. One monster.

And yet... Sareth’s stance never broke.

This wasn’t just battle.

This was containment.

Suppression.

Control.

Sareth spun her halberd once, and chains of aura spun with it.

”Your current strength is still yours only by my permission.”

And then she prepared to activate a spell she hadn’t had to use in many decades:

”[Absolute Prohibition]!”

The very air stopped breathing.

That was the first thing they noticed.

Wind halted. Magic fizzled. Even time itself felt like it forgot how to march forward for a second.

[Absolute Prohibition] didn’t announce itself with fanfare or the loud bang of a fireball.

It simply was.

The moment Sareth raised her halberd and slammed its pommel into the stone, reality obeyed.

The 25-meter radius around her bloomed in a dull green light, barely visible, yet heavy enough to crush thought. It was as if every possibility within the zone had been chained down. Even hope.

Kitsara’s illusions died outright.

Feng’s Gremlord spell fizzed into corrupt static, unable to finalize its chaotic calculation.

Blossom’s void shimmer glitched once, then flattened, trapping her for a heartbeat between planes.

Even Vex’s curses recoiled this time around.

In her domain, some law had just been rewritten, and that law declared:

”You will not cast. You will not fly. You will not run. You will not hide.”

And Sareth stood at its center: calm, grim, and resolute. A one-woman apocalypse.

Her halberd brimmed with power.

The floor beneath them cracked.

The team of predators, tricksters, and tyrants had walked into a prison.

And now, they were the inmates.
