Dragon-Marked War God

Chapter 205 – Inferno City

“Brother Jiang, you’re able to kill a Mid Divine Core warrior with your Late Heavenly Core cultivation base, this is really an eye opener for me! I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t witnessed it with my own eyes! How come the Sect Chief allowed a genius like you to come to this place?”

Tian Yishan asked with a shocked expression.

“I came here by my own decision. By the way, how is Guan Yiyun’s situation right now? Also, who is that young master Yang Shuo?”

Jiang Chen asked.

“I suppose brother Jiang just came to Inferno Hell and doesn’t know much about it. There is a city right in the center of Inferno Hell, Inferno City. The city belongs to humans, and only humans are allowed to enter it.”

Tian Yishan said.

“Oh, so there is actually a city in Inferno Hell?”

Jiang Chen was surprised, he hadn’t expected this at all.

“Inferno City is a unique existence. Demons and devils will not enter the city no matter what, that’s why it had become a gathering place for all humans. Supposedly, this Inferno City is the safest place in Inferno Hell, and as long as you stay within the city, you won’t have to worry about being attacked by demons or devils, and your safety will be guaranteed. The tunnel leading to the outside world only opens once a year, therefore, Inferno City has become the most important place to protect. But now, it has become the most dangerous area in Inferno Hell, no different than the deepest area of Inferno Hell.”

Tian Yishan said.

“How did that happen?”

Big Yellow asked.

“Very simple; where there are humans, there are conflicts. In Inferno Hell, conflicts can be found everywhere. Between demons and devils, between humans and demon beasts, between humans and humans… Blood is shed everywhere, there are no rules here, only raw slaughter. In order to survive in Inferno Hell, you need powerful strength. Right now, there are all kinds of bad and good people mixed in Inferno City, and neither of them are simple. They are either some vicious criminals who were exiled here, or some genius disciples from some big sect. When so many powerful people are mixed together in a single place, conflicts will break out.”

Tian Yishan explained.

Jiang Chen nodded his head. He could understand the situation here. There were no rules in Inferno Hell, and the most important thing here was strength and ability. Without it, one would be nothing but prey to the strong. Although Inferno City could help a person escape from the attacks of demons and devils, it couldn’t help them escape from conflicts between humans.

“Explain in detail about this Inferno City.”

Big Yellow said.

Tian Yishan glanced at Big Yellow. He knew that this dog came with Jiang Chen, therefore he didn’t hesitate to speak, “I left the Qi Province 2 years ago and went to the Jian Province. Four months ago, I came to Inferno Hell to further my cultivating here, and I supposed I know pretty much everything about this place. There are all sorts of demons and devils living in this land, many of them are rare and strange creatures, but they are all powerful existences. The most frightening creatures, with the most numbers are the Evil Devils and Nine Life Crystal Beasts. Many people come to Inferno Hell just to look for Nine Life Crystal Beast crystal cores.”

Tian Yishan paused for a short moment, then he continued, “The crystal core is a kind of pure energy form which can provide great help for a human’s cultivation. Not only that, the Nine Life Crystal Beast is preyed on by all devils, demons and humans. On the other side, these Nine Life Crystal Beasts were also preying on humans, demons and devils. Put it this way, the crystal core is really helpful for human cultivators, devils and demons, and the Heavenly Core and Divine Core in a human’s body, the demon souls and devil souls, they all bring great benefits to Nine Life Crystal Beasts. This is the root cause for all the chaotic situations in Inferno Hell, and the main reason behind most slaughter and bloodshed.”

“Also, because those Nine Life Crystal Beasts are very strong and extremely difficult to kill, it has made fights become even more violent. There are cases of people being killed and robbed every day in Inferno City, because everyone wants crystal cores. Even if they are going out from the city to hunt for some Nine Life Crystal Beasts, they usually work in a group, because it’s certain death if a human warrior bumps into a Nine Life Crystal Beast the same level as him. Also, they might bump into all kinds of demons and devils along the way. Besides, in order to survive in the harsh environment of Inferno Hell, working together in a group is a must.”

Tian Yishan explained the basic situation of Inferno Hell to Jiang Chen, giving them a whole new perspective on Inferno Hell. From what Tian Yishan had told them, they knew that the Nine Life Crystal Beasts were key existences in Inferno Hell. Basically; humans, Nine Life Crystal Beasts, demons, and devils, these four had formed a chaotic food chain.

No wonder why everyone were so scared of this place. This was a world were humans ate humans, beasts ate humans, and humans ate beasts. Life-threatening situations arose everywhere.

“I see. I suppose you all have some sort of an alliance, right? Besides, how did you all offend that young master Yang Shuo?”

Jiang Chen asked.

“That’s right, we do have our own alliance, and most of us are from the Qi Province and the Qian Province. When I met junior disciple Guan Yiyun for the first time in Inferno Hell, he was still at the peak Heavenly Core realm. But, he is a man with amazing talent, so in just a short amount of time, he broke through to the Divine Core realm. I’m the leader of our alliance, there are eight of us, and with our strength and abilities, we could only find a place to stay outer parts of Inferno City. A few days ago, Yang Shuo brought his mean and tried to take over the place where we were staying, and not only that, he also wanted to take all our belongings and crystal cores, and that’s when the conflict arose.”

“Yang Shuo is a genius from the Jian Province’s Myriad Sword Sect, and with his Mid Divine Core cultivation base, I am not match for him. Besides, that Yang Shuo supercilious and self-conceited man. He is extremely cruel and brutal, he would slowly torture those who offends him before finally killing them. I killed two of his men and escaped, but junior disciple Guan Yiyun and the rest of the men were unable to escape, and were caught by Yang Shuo. I don’t know anything about their current situation. Yang Shuo kept sending his men to hunt me down, and if it wasn’t for brother Jiang’s help today, I would most likely be a dead man right now.” [1]

Tian Yishan said.

“So that’s what happened.”

Jiang Chen’s face darkened. He wasn’t too surprised that Guan Yiyun had broken through to the Divine Core realm so quickly. Guan Yiyun was at the peak Heavenly Core realm before he came to Inferno Hell, just one step away from the Divine Core realm. An environment like Inferno Hell was best at helping one break through, therefore it wasn’t really that shocking.

But Jiang Chen couldn’t sit back and ignore Guan Yiyun’s current situation. Not only had he helped Jiang Chen before, he was also Jiang Chen’s fellow disciple, so Jiang Chen had to help him no matter what.

“Is this Myriad Sword Sect powerful?”

Jiang Chen asked again.

“Yes, they are really powerful, and nothing a sect that the Black Sect can compare with. The Jian Province is the second largest province in the Eastern Continent, the largest province being the Saint Province, which is also the heart of the Martial Saint Dynasty. Aside from the Saint Province, the Jian Province is the strongest province. There are quite a few Combat Soul warriors residing in the Myriad Sword Sect as well. Also, countless geniuses with amazing potential have joined them as well.”

Tian Yishan said. He had spent quite a lot of time in the Qi Province, therefore he knew pretty much about them.

“There are no privileges for any geniuses in this Inferno Hell. In here, even if you are the Martial Saint Dynasty’s prince, I don’t think anybody would care.”

Jiang Chen sneered.

“What brother Jiang said is correct. In a place like this, reputation and fame from the outside world is useless. This is an extremely violent and wicked world, and therefore, I have no complaints about us being defeated by Yang Shuo. More people get killed every day in Inferno City.”

Tian Yishan said.

“Brother Tian, I’ll have to rush to Inferno City to save Guan Yiyun.”

Jiang Chen said.

Hearing this, Tian Yishan’s eyes lit up. He had witnessed Jiang Chen’s combat strength just now, it was simply amazing and astonishing. He was actually thinking about how he should ask Jiang Chen to help him, but he had never expected Jiang Chen to say he would help first.

“Thank you, brother Jiang! But, that Yang Shuo is a Mid Divine Core warrior, and he’s very difficult to handle.”

Tian Yishan reminded.

“Don’t worry, I have a good relationship with Guan Yiyun. He helped me once, and since he is now in trouble, there is no way I can just stand aside and watch. Besides, I have some interest in this Inferno City. I’ll just take this opportunity to visit the city and meet that Yang Shuo at the same time.”

Jiang Chen said.

“Alright! With brother Jiang’s help, I’m sure we’ll be able to defeat that Yang Shuo and rescue junior disciple Guan and the rest of the men.”

Tian Yishan had an excited look on his face. He could feel the mighty confidence coming from Jiang Chen. This confidence made him see the light of hope.

“Your injuries are quite serious. We’ll stay here and take some time to rest, I’ll concoct a pill that can help you heal. After that, we’ll leave for Inferno City.”

Jiang Chen said.

“I didn’t know brother Jiang was also an alchemist. If that’s the case, thank you!”

Tian Yishan cupped his fist toward Jiang Chen. He knew very well about his current condition. After being wounded by Yang Shuo, he had engaged in a few battles along his escape, which caused him to become extremely weakened. If he still couldn’t recover in time, he would just become a burden for Jiang Chen.

Tian Yishan immediately found a spot and sat down with both legs crossed, then he started slowly healing his injuries. On the other side, Jiang Chen begun concocting a pill. He had brought quite a lot of herbs with him, which he had gotten from Guo Shan. He could now put them to good use.

In just a short amount of time, Jiang Chen successfully concocted a Revival Pill. The Revival Pill was one of the best medicinal pills used to heal wounds. A 100% effectiveness Revival Pill, it would cost a fortune if it was sold in the outside world.

Tian Yishan grabbed the Revival Pill with a shocked expression on his face. In just a couple of minutes, a rare Revival Pill had been concocted. Not only that, it was actually a 100% effectiveness Revival Pill. This miraculous pill concocting skill was not something that those ordinary master alchemists could achieve.

“Quickly absorb this Revival Pill, then we’ll leave for Inferno City at once.”

Jiang Chen said. The longer Guan Yiyun was in Yang Shuo’s captivation, the more danger and torture he would have to go through. Since Jiang Chen had decided to save him, it would be best if they could get there faster. Besides, Jiang Chen had a great interest in this Inferno City. A place with intensive fights could ignite his fighting spirit and desire to conquer.

Tian Yishan dared not hesitate, so he swallowed the Revival Pill in an instant. The massive effect of the pill made his body tremble violently. With the help of this Revival Pills, his injuries started recovering, and his energy became much stronger than it was before.

“What an amazing pill! Brother Jiang, you really have amazing talent! We can leave now, I’ll just absorb the pill bit by bit along the way.”

Tian Yishan said as he strengthened his spirit.
