Chapter 196 – Entering Inferno Hell

Jiang Chen stood high in the skies with his domineering attitude, portraying an overwhelming image as he looked down on his enemies in front of him, he was challenging the world.

The Green Sanctuary Sect, the Heavenly Sword Sect, the Burning Sky Pavilion. He alone was challenging all three big sects. Such a statement, there was only one person in the entire Qi Province who could speak these words, and that was Jiang Chen.

After saying those words, Jiang Chen turned around and started walking towards the inner area of the Black Sect. His figure attracted many gazes, and they were all filled with admiration.

Respect, fear, admiration; each of these gazes were filled with mixed emotions. Every single man dreamt about reaching the top of the world, all men wished to defeat all enemies who got in his path and leave behind a mighty legend. In every single era, there was a star of the generation, and everyone dreamt about becoming that star.

Everyone were sighing inwardly. Living in the same era as Jiang Chen, it was their fortune, but at the same time, their misfortune.

Jiang Chen walked with spirited and vigorous steps, and his eyes were glittering. As man with a great destiny, he wanted to live a glorious life after his reincarnation. He wanted to be a man who could walk everywhere underneath the heavens, following nothing but his heart’s desires while killing all who got in his way. This could only be done by a man with huge courage and resolution.

“What an overbearing man! He is like a shining sun, no dark clouds can cover his glory!”

“Senior disciple Jiang is my number one idol! If I can one day portray the same domineering attitude as him, challenging the entire world; even if I would die in the next second, there would be no regret in my life!”

“A man like him is destined to leave a glorious mark in history! He is a peerless genius who can’t be found, even in a thousand years! I’m afraid that only Nanbei Chao can be his match…”

…………

The disciples of the Black Sect were still staring at Jiang Chen’s back. Although he had disappeared from the scene, they still didn’t want to take their eyes off where he had gone. He had become a role model amongst the younger generation, he was the Black Sect’s pride.

“Ahh… let me fight, I want to fight with him!”

Huo Yuner roared out in fury. Flames danced around him, and his eyes had turned red. Jiang Chen’s words had seriously injured his self-esteem, the self-esteem of a genius which couldn’t be stepped on. Therefore, even if he would die fighting Jiang Chen, he wanted to do it.

Huo Yuner’s cultivation had gone smooth as sailing ever since he was born, he and Yun Can were famous in their respective provinces, and they stood on top amongst everyone in the younger generation. Huo Yuner was the number one genius of the Green Sanctuary Sect, and everyone there feared him, so he had never suffered such insults before. He had come and provoked Jiang Chen today, but he was scared off fighting even before the fight begun, and this was a tremendous loss of face.

“Huo Yuner!”

Qing Styx shouted, then he said, “You are not his match! Besides, didn’t you hear what he just said? He is going to enter Inferno hell, hmph! I’m sure you know just how dangerous this Inferno Hell is, even I would have a slim chance of survival if I were to enter. This guy is so prideful and arrogant, he is just seeking his own death by entering Inferno Hell!”

Hearing Qing Styx’s words, the crowds finally woke up. The expressions of all the disciples changed. They had been stunned by Jiang Chen’s mighty manner just now, therefore, no one really paid attention when he said Inferno Hell. After being reminded by Qing Styx, they finally responded.

“What? Senior disciple Jiang is going to enter Inferno Hell? That is too dangerous!”

“I heard that senior disciple Guan Yiyun has entered Inferno Hell as well, but he was looking for an opportunity to break through to the Divine Core realm, therefore he made up his mind and entered. He vowed he would either successfully break through, or die in there. However, senior disciple Jiang’s potential is much better than senior disciple Guan Yiyun’s, I don’t see why it’s necessary for him to risk his life in Inferno Hell.

“You know nothing! Senior disciple Jiang is an abnormal monster! Obviously, he will choose to talk an extraordinary path! For us, this Inferno Hell is a gateway to hell, but for him, it’s just a challenge.”

…………

The crowds were shocked by the news, Jiang Chen’s decision was too frightening. Inferno Hell was originally used by all the powerful sects in the different provinces, including the Martial Saint Dynasty, to punish the men who had committed serious crimes. They would throw these criminals into Inferno Hell and let them run their own course inside.

Of course, there had been many brave men who entered Inferno Hell because of their own will to have life and death experiences. Rumors say that there is great fortune hiding somewhere within, and as long a man can leave the place alive, he would experience a transformation from his roots. The transformation did not only affect the cultivation, but also the person’s mindset. Anyone who had encountered life and death situations would have strong mindsets that others couldn’t compare with.

“This guy really wants to enter Inferno Hell? What exactly is he after?”

Daoist Black reacted as well, his brows were knit in a frown. In his mind, Jiang Chen was the Black Sect’s most precious disciple, so he didn’t want to see anything bad happen to him. Because Jiang Chen was the only man who could fight Nanbei Chao, he was also the Black Sect’s only hope of changing their destiny. If anything bad happened to Jiang Chen, Nanbei Chao would sooner or later destroy the Black Sect.

“Let’s go.”

Qing Styx shook his head helplessly with an look of extreme disappointment on his face. Judging from today’s situation, he had lost all his hope of obtaining Firethorn Savage’s demon soul. He was standing in the heart of the Black Sect, and with the presence of Daoist Black, there was no way for him to kill Jiang Chen. The initial plan of having his core disciple, Huo Yuner, fight with Jiang Chen, didn’t work out either. Not only that, he had to make sure Huo Yuner didn’t act impulsively, in order to save his life. If not, he would just experience the same as Yun Can.

“I’ll enter Inferno Hell and fight him!”

Huo Yuner strengthened his resolve and became the first one to fly towards the Qian Province, while leaving a blazing trail of scorching hot flames in his path. What happened today was a huge blow to him. Jiang Chen had left a permanent dark shadow in his mind. If he couldn’t get rid of this shadow, it would become a ghost which would keep hunting him and make his cultivation come to a standstill.

In order to get rid of this shadow, he had to fight Jiang Chen. No matter what, he would either die or live in the end.

“Sigh!”

All the Green Sanctuary Sect Elders let out sighs. They hurried up and started following Huo Yuner. It was such an ironic scene; the Green Sanctuary Sect had come here in an imposing manner, but in the end, they had to leave in such a miserable way.

Jiang Chen was still alive, and they didn’t retrieve Firethorn Savage’s demon soul. Not only that, he even delivered a huge blow to Huo Yuner’s face. Huo Yuner was a precious disciple of the Green Sanctuary Sect, he had been gifted a powerful flame skill since birth and was previously cultivating in the Karst Cave. If nothing bad happened to him, he would have broken through to the Mid Divine Core realm in no time. But what happened today, it had dealt him a huge blow which directly affected his cultivation progress.

Yun Can was killed, and Huo Yuner had left. Jiang Chen had once again strengthened his mighty position in the Black Sect.

Guo Shan’s mountain peak.

“Jiang Chen, do you really want to enter Inferno Hell? With your potential, there is no need for you to cultivate in such a dangerous place.”

Daoist Black asked with a frown on his face.

“Sect Chief, I have made up my mind, we don’t need to discuss this any further. I just hope that the Sect Chief can open the path to Inferno Hell for me.”

Jiang Chen said.

“Jiang Chen, you probably have no idea how dangerous Inferno Hell is. Even I do not dare enter. I tried persuading Guan Yiyun to not enter, but he insisted. However, you really don’t have any reason to cultivate in Inferno Hell.”

Daoist Black had a puzzled expression as he looked at Jiang Chen. In fact, Daoist Black had no idea about what was in Inferno Hell, as he had never gone there before. There were only a handful of men who had entered Inferno Hell before, and that’s why almost no one knew what exactly could be found within. The only thing people knew was that it was a frightening place filled with dangers, and chances of survival are very slim.

“Sect Chief, the reason why brother Jiang insists on entering Inferno Hell is to save Han Yan.”

Guo Shan tried explaining.

“To save Han Yan?”

Daoist Black was startled.

“That’s right, Brother Yan’s condition is too severe, and his life-force is almost gone. All his internal organs have shattered, and he is only surviving because of the Ancient Divine Devil’s bloodline. I’ve placed him within the Blood Banner with hope that the demonic energy contained within can give him some help. However, in order to completely save him, I’ll need the Earthly Demon Beast’s demon soul. Brother Guo told me that a rare demon beast like that might only exist in Inferno Hell, that’s why I must go there.”

Jiang Chen then said with a serious expression, “Brother Yan is my brother, his life is equal to mine. Even if it requires me to climb a mountain of swords and dive into a sea of flames, I’ll still save him; even if Yama wants to take my life, he will have to ask my permission.” [1]

When mentioning Han Yan, Jiang Chen couldn’t help but feel a pain in his heart. This was his first brother after his reincarnation, and he had risked his life to save Jiang Chen’s girl during a critical moment. Jiang Chen would never forget what he had done for him, and as long as Han Yan still had vital signs, Jiang Chen would risk everything to save him.

Hearing Jiang Chen’s explanation, Daoist Black’s mouth opened wide, but he couldn’t say a word. He felt guilty when Jiang Chen mentioned Han Yan and Yan Chenyu, and he didn’t even dare look into Jiang Chen’s eyes.

“Therefore, there is no need for Sect Chief to say anything more regarding this matter. In my eyes, Brother Yan’s life is most important, so I have to go to Inferno Hell no matter what. Besides, all of you are afraid of this place, but I have never feared it. No matter how dangerous the place is, it will be nothing but a training ground for me.”

Jiang Chen expressed a high amount of confidence, the confidence of the once greatest Saint in the world.

“Good, Jiang Chen, you slaughter with a firm resolution, I’m sure you will become a very capable person! You show no mercy to your enemies, but to your own brothers, you are a man with a true heart! I, Daoist Black respect you, and I need to take responsibility for what happened to Little Yu and Brother Yan as well, but I can’t do anything else than apologize. I’ll open the path to Inferno Hell for you. Remember, be extra careful upon entering!”

Daoist Black didn’t try to convince Jiang Chen anymore. He knew that once Jiang Chen made up his mind, there was nothing that could change it.

“Alright. Sect Chief, please wait for me at Palace Black, I need to arrange something with brother Guo.”

Jiang Chen said.

Daoist Black nodded his head and flew away.

“Brother, you are a man with a great destiny. I’m sure you’ll be able to come back from Inferno Hell, and you might even encounter some big opportunities.”

Guo Shan said.

“Older brother Guo, I don’t know how long I’ll be in there, so I need you to take really good care of Little Yu and Brother Yan. Later, I’ll transfer the control of the Blood Banner to you. Although it is an evil weapon, it is still a very strong one, and it will provide you great help.”

Jiang Chen decided to leave the Blood Banner behind. Firstly, it could help Han Yan. Secondly, if there was an emergency, Guo Shan could put it to good use.

Fan Zhongtang was soon going to exit the Cliff of Remorse, and Jiang Chen was really worried about that cunning old fox.
