The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Hua Jinyan held back his laughter. ”You could look at it that way.”

Little Taotie earnestly nagged, ”Don’t be mad anymore. If you keep being mad, I’m afraid you’ll spontaneously combust. You’ve seen those ancient, totally beat-up vintage cars that just catch fire by themselves, right? You’re an Ancient Pagoda, you’ve been around for several thousand years now, that makes you some seriously ancient Golden Tower Gold Bricks. What if you spontaneously combust, catch fire, and turn to ash? Right now you look all shiny and golden and super pretty, but if you turn to ash, you’ll just be all gray and dull and pitch black.”

Gold Bricks: ”...”

It only hated that it didn’t have a mouth.

The Gold Bricks stopped smoking and stopped moving.

It decided to just lie flat and rot.

Little Taotie reached out and tapped it. ”Why aren’t you smoking anymore?”

Gold Bricks: ”...”

Little Taotie poked it again with her finger. ”Why aren’t you moving?”

The Gold Bricks instantly turned into a streak of Golden Light and flew into the Horse-Faced Bell.

Little Taotie stared, dumbfounded. ”Since when did my Bell turn into a free-entry space where anything can just go in?”

Hua Jinyan said, ”It’s probably stayed in there before, so it knows some rules you don’t. After all, it’s a Magical Treasure tool itself, so it understands Magical Treasures better.”

Little Taotie nodded, half-understanding, and continued her call with Brother Nie.

”Brother Nie, is there any way to remove the curse?”

”You can already lecture the Gold Bricks; I don’t think there’s any need to remove the curse anymore.”

”I didn’t lecture it though.”

”Same difference. It shouldn’t hurt you.”

”But I still want to remove the curse for it, then we can rebuild the Ancient Pagoda. I think a glittering Golden Tower would look absolutely gorgeous.”

She pictured a pure gold, gleaming Ancient Pagoda, with no decayed junk blocking its brilliance. Sunlight pouring down on it—just imagining it, it had to be stunning.

Little Taotie blinked, already hallucinating that scene, her eyes full of Little Stars.

Hua Jinyan was close to her, so he could see the light in her eyes and guessed she’d been completely bewitched by gold.

”I can help you build a Golden Tower. No need to use those polluted Gold Bricks.” Brother Nie laughed. ”With your skill at catching Ghosts, your pocket money should be enough to build one by now, right?”

Little Taotie clutched her little bag. ”I still have to buy land and build an apartment block. I’ve got no money left for a tower.”

The corner of Brother Nie’s mouth twitched.

First time he’d heard of someone who had money to do good deeds and play the little God of Wealth, but had no money to buy herself things she liked.

”Have you ever been to a gold shop to buy gold?” Brother Nie suddenly asked.

Little Taotie shook her head. ”There’s nothing I really want to buy. If it’s free, I’d be more than happy to take it.”

”You! I really shouldn’t keep calling you Little Taotie, I need to change what I call you.”

”Change it?”

”Change it to Iron Rooster!”

”Hmph, I’m the Fierce Beast Taotie!” Little Taotie let out an ”awoo,” all cutesy and fake-ferocious.

Comparing her to a bird—that was an insult to Fierce Beasts!

Among birds and beasts, birds and beasts are two different races.

Those who are not of my race, their hearts are bound to be punished!

How could she possibly accept being compared to a bird?

And the lowest-level Iron Rooster, at that.

The more Little Taotie thought about it, the angrier she got. Huffing, she said, ”Brother Nie is so useless, he can’t even remove a curse. I’m done talking to you, bye.”

Brother Nie’s call got hung up on; he shook his head in amusement.

After thinking it over, he still decided to go look for Little Taotie and Hua Jinyan.

Although he’d been a bit scared at first, from the call it sounded like the Gold Bricks were pretty scared of Little Taotie. The curse probably wouldn’t land on him, right?

Forget it, forget it. As someone of the Mysterious Sect, how could he be so petty and afraid of death?

Little Taotie had no idea Brother Nie was already on his way. She was still fuming. ”I am not an Iron Rooster, I’m Taotie! A super fierce, super fierce Fierce Beast—even a Phoenix would be scared when it sees me. How could I be that lamest-of-the-lame Iron Rooster, the kind of useless bird that has to bow when it sees a Phoenix!”
