The Lovely Heiress Is Actually A God Beast

Chapter 917: Chapter 917: Feng Qi’s Murmurs

Back at the hospital, the little girl insisted on doing her rehabilitation exercises once again, then took a bath with the help of the nanny and sat in her wheelchair.

“I want to go see Sleeping Beauty sister.”

The nanny sighed lightly: “She’s a pitiful child too. Her parents have already given up on her. It’s said that by the year’s end, a newborn will be born, and by then, they’ll completely give up on her treatment, allowing her to pass away peacefully.”

“A newborn?”

“Her mother is pregnant, due at the end of the year.”

“Why can they give up on Sleeping Beauty sister just because there’s a new child? Isn’t she their child too?”

The nanny sighed: “The expensive medical bills, they’ve wanted to give up for a long time. If this child didn’t come, maybe they would still want to persevere, but with the arrival of new life, they have to consider its future too, they can’t go on indefinitely.”

Little Taotie still couldn’t understand.

It’s just like how Mom in the mountains treated her so badly after having the twins.

In fact, she felt very sad inside, and couldn’t understand why they couldn’t spare a little bit of love for her, but later she found out that she wasn’t their child after all, which made her feel relieved.

But it’s different for sister, Sleeping Beauty is their biological child.

“Money, it makes people ugly.” The nanny said helplessly: “If they had money, they probably wouldn’t give up.”

Little Taotie couldn’t understand even more, tilting her head to ask: “Aren’t there lots of foundations and donations? They can apply for them and get help…”

“It’s not that easy to apply.” The nanny shook her head, not wanting to delve deeper into the difficulties.

She knew Little Taotie loved doing good deeds and liked donating money; she’d donated all her previous salary from acting, but these were only a drop in the bucket.

People facing difficulties are applying, some are taking advantage, who aren’t truly in need also apply, and there are some fraudulent applications too.

Some foundations might genuinely want to help, but they later find it’s not that simple, so they constantly raise the application thresholds to avoid being deceived, but by raising the thresholds, it also delays those truly in need from getting through.

While talking, the two arrived at the downstairs ward.

The nurse opened the door, smilingly greeted them: “Here to see her again, what story are you going to tell this time?”

“Hello, auntie.” Little Taotie greeted obediently, tilting her head to think: “Today, I’ll tell the story of Beauty and the Beast.”

“That sounds good, can I listen?”

“You can.”

Little Taotie came to the bedside, looked at the increasingly thin girl on the bed, and whispered: “Sleeping Beauty sister, I’m here to see you again. Today is still a story a day, I’m going to tell you the story of Beauty and the Beast.”

“In a splendid castle lived a haughty, selfish prince. One cold winter night, a beggar granny came to the castle, offering the prince a red rose, asking for shelter from the cold.”

“The prince saw how ugly and strange she looked, so he wanted to drive her away. The beggar granny told the prince: Inner beauty is the true beauty. But the prince still wouldn’t let her stay. Suddenly, the beggar granny transformed into a witch!”

“To punish the prince, she used magic to transform the prince into an ugly beast…”

“The witch left the rose for him. This rose can only bloom until his 21st birthday. If he learns to love others before the rose withers, and also receives love in return, the magic can be broken. Otherwise, he will never return to human form!”…

“Seeing the last petal of the rose about to fall, Belle hugged the injured beast and said emotionally: You mustn’t die, I love you!”

“Before Belle’s voice finished, the magic was miraculously lifted!”

“The injured beast turned back into the handsome prince, and Belle finally attained the love she longed for…”

“Sleeping Beauty sister, the story is over. The story of Beauty and the Beast tells us that inner beauty is the true beauty.”

After finishing the story, Little Taotie prepared to leave as usual, only to find Sleeping Beauty sister’s fingers moved!

In the vast Sea of Consciousness, a child’s voice came, narrating one story after another. Previously, none of the stories were special, but this time it seemed this story stirred Feng Qi, who had been asleep without waking, giving her a bit of a struggle to awaken from slumber.

Though her eyes were still closed, her lips moved gently, whispering in the Sea of Consciousness: “They say you agreed to marry me only because you saw a painting and thought I looked good, just because of a beautiful shell… This isn’t the love I want…”
