Chapter 2548: Promise

Parth slowly flew down. When he was a few feet away from the formation, he spoke.

”Friend from outside. I am Parth, from Hastin village. One of the few people in charge of stability in this area.

I would like to have a talk.

I understand that I shouldn’t step into the formation. So, can you please come out?

I guarantee with my life on the line that no one will try to harm you today.”

Sam of course, didn’t want to go out. He is not an idiot. Even if the other party gave his word... what of it? Words are the cheapest things for most people.

However, Sam already had a contingency for it.

He took a deep breath and disappeared from the spot. He reappeared, exactly out of the formation dome. There was barely a centimeter between him and the formation.

Parth stood where he stood.

Both of them can now see each other clearly.

Sam sized Parth up. His instincts screamed. Except for maybe Ling Tian, who Sam couldn’t get a proper read on... this guy Parth is the strongest person he had met.

Those eyes... they were the sharpest he had ever seen.

And that bow... Sam could just sense the weapon spirit. And without a sound, it spoke to Sam.

’Look Away’

That’s what it said. As if it disdained everything that laid eyes on it.

And Sam did exactly that.

Parth had a faint smile on his face when he saw Sam’s reaction to the bow.

”May I know your name?”

”I am Sam.”

”Sam... Nice to meet you Mr. Sam. Welcome to our world.”

”How do you know I am not from your world?” Sam asked directly.

”If there is a person of your talent in this world, I would have known. I would have met them.”

”You are very generous with your praise, Mr. Parth. We just met, how could you know how talented I am.”

”Trust me. I am being extremely truthful. I know a talented young man when I see one.

And that formation, and the shadow creature... the way you stood in that mountain and orchestrated everything. I doubt anyone on this planet could do it.

I am thoroughly impressed by you.”

”Thank you. Coming from a warrior such as you, I am grateful.”

”Seems like you are generous with your praise too.”

”Just like you, I know a warrior when I meet one.”

”This might be straightforward. But I must ask. May I know the purpose of your visit to our planet?”

”I can tell you. But I hope you won’t be offended.”

”Please.”

”There are two reasons. First one is that my team and I want to train here and increase our strength and cultivation.

With the challenges on this planet, this place is most suitable for us.

And the second reason...”

Sam paused and hesitated if he should reveal the conquest part... But after a second, looking at Parth’s face, he just wanted to do it.

There was another reason for that as well.

”And the second reason is that it is part of a game.

I came from a place where people are trained and bred to be high level cultivators and most of they follow various gods.

Those gods created a conquest game for everyone in that place.

Your planet was one of them.

I came here as part of that conquest.”

Parth’s smile widened.

He shook his head as he chuckled slightly.

”It’s a small world.” He muttered to himself.

Sam’s eyes sharpened at this moment as he looked at Parth.

”It is indeed a small world.” Sam also muttered out loud, which froze Parth’s smile.

But only for a moment, before it reappeared again.

”It seems like you made a good first step in this small world. You didn’t spend a long time here and took out a peak consummate creature.

Better than the other guy.”

”Once again, thanks for the praise.

I would like to ask. Why such a big crowd here?”

”As you know the peak stage consummate creatures are at the top of the food chain here. If a new one appears, it will disrupt the chain. So, before it gets out of hand, we need to find a way to contain it.

That is why, we appeared immediately.

However, it turned out to be the shadow creature that came and left this world.”

Sam was a bit surprised that Parth revealed all the info so easily.

If only Bloody Chariot was here, he would have died of a heart attack. The amount sharp words he had to go through to get this little bit of info...

Or maybe he would feel more pain by the fact that Sam is the one who got this info.

”So, now that I have taken down one of the creatures... what are the consequences?”

”That is for us to figure out.

Please give us some time. And I hope you won’t move around too much and stay within this island.

I need to have a meeting with the rest of the factions and figure out this situation.

This is the first time, someone of your level took down a peak stage creature like this.

So, some contemplation is needed.

I will come back in three more days. Around the same time. I will tell you the situation.

And I give you my word. You don’t have to be anxious. No one will directly attempt to kill you. Not now, not even after three days.

The verdict wouldn’t affect your life.”

”Thank you. I will take your word for it.”

”You might be skeptical now. But once I give my word, I would have to die before I take it back. See you later.”

Parth went back and talked to the crowd.

All of them looked at Sam for a moment and left immediately.

Sam sighed in relief.

Right now, the formation is the only thing that he had at hand.

Sure, it would work great against the beasts with no knowledge of the formation. But it is different compared to the people who actually know how to use formations,
