Re-Birth Of A Genius. Creator/Destroyer

Chapter 2276  Old Strategist

*SWOOSH*

Sam dashed through the burning room and appeared in the hallway.

The opponent took some real damage. He was stumbling as he tried to run, but tried to keep up his pace. As he did that, he started dropping formation discs that created barriers to keep Sam at Bay.

Sam just aimed his hand gun and started shooting as he moved forward.

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

One formation after another was knocked down easily. The distance between him and the opponent closed down. At that moment, the opponent already reached the other end of the hallway. Sam is just a couple of feet away.

Now, he could either turn to the side and roll down the stairs or… well he chose the second option. He gritted his teeth and jumped out of the window.

Sam lunged forward and stood at the window before shooting down.

*BOOM*

*BOOM*

By now, there are dozens of people inside and outside Paradise inn all looking at the spectacle. They saw as Sam shot down his opponent who was free falling.

*BAM*

The opponent crashed into the ground, leaving a crater. His body is burning with flames and the surroundings are melting down. It was eerily similar to a meteor strike. Sam jumped down the window and landed beside the opponent.

The opponent lost consciousness and is barely breathing.

He couldnʼt possibly declare his surrender. Sam shrugged and aimed the gun at his head.

*BAM*

When he shot, a barrier appeared around the opponent and the bulletʼs force was negated. The energy dispersed and the metal shell just bounced back. The token on Samʼs body which was green a moment ago, turned back to Yellow.

Meanwhile, the token on the opponentʼs body turned to red and a crack appeared on it.

Sam raised an eyebrow as he observed the surroundings. The opponent surely couldnʼt have surrendered. So, the only possible explanation is that the elder in charge has declared the surrender, saving this guyʼs life. That meanʼs the elder is definitely around.

Of course, if the other party deliberately tried to hide, there is no way Sam could find his presence.

He shrugged and went back to the inn. Luckily, there are no many people on his floor and not all of them came back there after ceremony. Maybe they were discussing strategy among themselves. Or they were hunting down others. Or, they are not participating the Solo Combat and are minding their own business.

Sam just picked one of the empty rooms and decided to stay there.

This time, there is no one waiting in ambush for him. He laid down on his bed and looked at the gun and the special bullet that he used. He is actually surprised that this bullet was not stopped by the formation.

After all, the damage created by this bullet is extremely unnatural. It is not like there are a bunch of people running around with the capabilities to liquify energy and then making it explode.

It is a very rare skill to begin with.

The explosion that stems from that kind of energy is not small. Sam reckoned that even the Divine Plane Pre-transcendence cultivators will feel the punch from it. So, he half guessed that the formation would have blocked the attack.

His whole intention was to test that impact.

He was already ready with another bullet in case it failed. But luckily for him, the attack passed the threshold and he dealt with opponent easily. Without breaking a sweat.

Of course, his tests didnʼt stop there. He sat up and started inscribing some more bullets and took out some formation discs. He wanted to see exactly what the limit is.

He attached the formation discs to the windows of the room, to the doors and even placed one at the window of the hallway.

He then sat down in meditation.

Meanwhile, back in one of the other buildings near the Paradise inn.

”Elder, that brute head is almost dead. I told you that even if he used so many tricks, he wonʼt come back with a victory against Sam. From all the information we gathered, that guy named Sam is cunning like a damned fox.

How could he have not prepared against such an obvious trap.

Now we lost someone unnecessarily. The Healers are telling me that the damage is way too high and they donʼt know if he will recover by team combat. How am I supposed to compete in team combat if he is like this?”

A young man with long black hair and two knives hanging down his waist spoke to the Eklder in an aggrieved tone.

The Elder with white hair is laying down on the bed as he looked at the ceiling, lost in his own thoughts.

He is an Elder from the Thor academy and he is helping the kids with the strategy to take out the opponents.

He has picked a few opponents and marked them as immediate targets. The five people from the Second grade of Thor academy went to eliminate these five targets. Only problem is that the four of them succeeded while the fifth one was the guy Sam folded just now.ʼ

”He should have easily killed that kid. What is the point of being at the Peak stage and still losing to a middle stage child. I wonder how he even came this far.”

The elder muttered and sat up.

He is the one that declared surrender for that kid and saved him from dying.

The young man didnʼt like the way the elder dismissed his friend who got his ass kicked by Sam.

”I donʼt think it is right to underestimate the threat of Sam. I even told you that I would go, but instead you sent him, who is known for his brute strength with such a simple strategy.

In a way this is more your fault that his.”

The Elder looked at him with a sneer and said.

”If you are done with your whining, then I have some new advice for you, Harron.”

”Please tell us.”

”Simple, just from the way that kid Sam battled, I feel like he has more tricks up his sleeve. So, he would be a hard opponent to take down.

So, my suggestion is that we leave that guy alone, while at the same time use him for our benefit.”

”What do you mean?”

”The reason why I picked the five guys that you went after is that they are the variables that differed my original calculation. Even with all the things I understood about this guy named Sam, I never ever expected that he would be participating in this yearʼs Inter academy tournament.

The other four are also the same, they are the variables that I didnʼt account for.

It was all because of the lack of accurate information of these people. So, I wanted you guys to eliminate them first. You succeeded in dealing with the first four as they were indeed as I expected, made it into the final five by some fluke.

I thought Sam is also same, but he managed to turn the tables around on us.

We cannot estimate what kind of measures he used to deal with him. So, we go with the next best option, we will use others to deal with him. I am sure, you guys will be targeted from now. So, your job is to make sure that you are not attacked.

You need to instead guide them and deliver them to this guy named Sam and make sure that both of them engage. That way, you will definitely have much less trouble in this whole game.”

”It is easier said that done.” Harron snickered, obviously not trusting the idea too much.

”Harron, this is our home ground. This is the place, you have been staying for years now. Canʼt you use the layout of the city to your benefit? The city has also been modified a lot to improve our defenses, donʼt tell me, you donʼt know them and know how to use them?

Use the escape paths, diversion mechanisms, and the secret pathways that will provide us access to all the areas in the city.

You can easily do it if you put your mind to it.”

”But what if that guy, just holes up in his room?”

”He is a candidate for other auxiliary competitions. Do you think he has a luxury to just stay in there?

There are three hundred participants for the formation competition tomorrow, do you think they can just chuck them all into the castle and then conduct the competition on such a large scale? The formation castle is not designed to hold that many people.

Not at that level.

There are prelims that will go for the whole day tomorrow and then there are finals the day after.

See, he is going to come out two days in a row, right after today? There are other competitions too.

This is all basic information that you can gain just from asking the service staff stationed in Paradise inn.

You need to learn to gather this info, if you want to attain a significant position in the realm or even in the battlefield.”
