Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game

The apartment building offers better privacy, but there’s no garden for Mia to play in. After all, she can’t go to places with too many people, but if there’s a garden in a villa, it would be easy for others to notice she brought a child back to the country.

It really is a bit troublesome.

”President Miller, I’ll look into some good properties, check a few more, and then you can choose. Actually, you could buy the top floor, it can be converted into a small garden, that way your wishes would be fulfilled. But creating a small garden on the top floor needs approval, I should be able to handle that through some connections.” Annie didn’t know why Charlotte Miller was so insistent on having a little garden, but if it was the top floor, both aspects could be addressed.

”That’s really great, thank you, Annie. It’s such a personal matter, and I have to ask you to handle it.” Charlotte looked at the pile of documents on her desk, it seemed she would have to stay late in the office again today.

”Don’t mention it, aside from the hierarchical relationship, you said we are friends.” Annie could understand the feeling of a woman wanting a place of her own, having been through that herself.

It’s just that Charlotte shouldn’t be the type to pursue a luxury mansion. Annie originally thought she would buy a house close to the office, not needing to be too large either.

But to her surprise, Charlotte asked for a big house right from the start, stating it needed at least five rooms, which made Annie feel a bit strange.

She could vaguely guess something, yet found it unbelievable.

Back then, Charlotte had already had a miscarriage, the child couldn’t have been born, but needing a garden, and more rooms, probably meant there was a child now, right?

She was only engaged to Rogers, could it be a premarital pregnancy?

But looking at Charlotte in front of her, there was no sign of her having had a child; her waist seemed even more slender than before, how could she have ever given birth?

Annie walked outside while starting to make phone calls, preparing to first look for houses for Charlotte.

These days, you can’t just view good properties by wanting to, you must have proof of funds from the bank.

Charlotte didn’t know this, would she really have to go get a proof of deposit herself?

Back then, Joseph Shaw gave her a card, which had sufficient funds, so Annie found that card and went to the bank to get a proof, then drove to the two properties she had her eyes on.

The move-in ready properties, exquisitely furnished, had prices so high it was shocking, but given Charlotte’s current assets, affording them was no problem at all.

Once she used that card, Joseph Shaw immediately received a notification.

This woman’s stubborn nature is such that she never used that card, but now she got an income certificate to look at houses?

Coincidentally, this happens to be one of his properties.

Really, what a coincidence...

Such a good mood he could whistle. After all these years still playing hide and seek with him, yet this time she came running into him herself?

The saleslady led her to the top floor, and the ’king of the building’, indeed the view was breathtaking, with a panoramic view of the city’s central park, and it wasn’t far from the office either.

”These are truly the last two units available, the one next door is two hundred sixty square meters, this one is eight square meters more, and top floors are naturally more popular.” The saleslady spoke enthusiastically, as those able to present proof of assets were definitely capable buyers.

The woman in front of her, dressed in professional attire, was exceptionally beautiful, unlike those women who are kept as mistresses, possessing a serene elegance without any trace of cosmetic surgery.

”Could I also see the unit next door?” Charlotte’s requirement was for something bigger, and if the two units could be connected, then it would meet her needs.

”Of course...” the man’s voice rang from behind, and Annie nearly jumped out of her skin, looking as though she had seen a ghost.

Turning around, sure enough, it was him.

It truly was a small world. In the past two years, Joseph Shaw hadn’t done anything serious, apart from trying to take advantage of her or sabotaging countless matchmaking attempts, leaving her unable to get married to this day.

Utterly despicable.

”This is your property?” Not staying in his company for a few years, she didn’t know Joseph Shaw had so many projects now; he liked to remain unseen below the surface.

So for some projects, if he didn’t mention it, how would she know he was the boss behind the scenes?

”Like it? I’ll give it to you. Why be so formal between us?” Joseph Shaw raised his almond-shaped eyes with a smile, stepping forward.
