A Weapon’s Serenade

As the time for dinner came, Famine and Umbria conjured a veritable feast for everyone to enjoy, including Isha who had asked to sample some demonic food too. She had received properly scaled up portions in magically sealed containers. No water could get in but she could simply take the food out.

“You eat with tiny tridents!” Isha giggled at the three-pronged fork in her hand. It was simply an upscaled version of the cutlery everyone was using.

“We sure do.” Anne looked at the fork before her. “Humans tend to use ones with four prongs but I do like the tiny tridents more.”

“We hunt with tridents and harpoons that look a bit like the tiny swords you use to cut your food apart. A blade with a grip on a string.”

“And then you throw them?”

“With magic, yes. It’s cute how universal some tools are.” After a few bites, Isha turned back to the group to talk. “Warm food is great! We often eat fresh and only sometimes mix foods, it’s just not really viable to stockpile so much when we constantly travel. But this… I could… no I want to get used to this.”

“Good thing you can.”

“I will have to explore in the coming days when you are not here, but all I have seen and experienced today makes me want to stay.”

“You can conjure food, right?”

“We can, yes. In the past we only did it when necessary but in the last century all the plastic humans put into the oceans got too much and everything we hunt is contaminated. We need to magically purge everything or conjure our food now. I guess I might as well conjure fancy demon food.”

“I highly recommend experimenting. Since we were gifted magical tools to conjure our own food, we tried a lot of new things.”

“And I should too.”

After a wonderful dinner and some sweet deserts, everyone once again settled down. Focalor and Umbria had returned to the Nemesis, but Ara and Famine decided to stay with the girls and chat a little.

Anne snuggled up to Melody while chatting with Isha. “So, the group you came with, they all look like women. Do you even have men?”

“We do, but you are right, our school doesn’t have any males. About two thousand years ago, the males, who are much smaller than us but more numerous, tried to establish a system with them in charge. We didn’t let them and cast them out. Most siren schools are female only with a few very large schools of males roaming the oceans.”

“How does procreation work then, if you don’t mind me asking?”

“Like with most fish. Each school has a home breeding ground we return to every decade and leave eggs, after we leave, the males then fertilize the eggs and guard them until they hatch. Any males then join the school of males and any females wait for our return within a few days after hatching. With humans making several breeding grounds unsafe, many schools, including ours here, have experimented with other methods of fertilization. We have discovered a far more pleasurable magical methods that allows us to reproduce without males. I believe it is quite close to what you do for sexual pleasure shared between human females and demons.”

Anne blushed gently. “Oh. Oh nice. Have you ever…?”

“A few times. The new method really is preferable. And with us becoming infertile if we were to become demons anyway, having source of intimacy in some form is very nice too.”

“Looking at our bright red Serena over here, that ability for sexual intimacy and the potential to make yourself a little more her size as a demon are quite the prospect.”

Isha tilted her head and grinned. “You would like that, wouldn’t you, Serena?”

Serena shrunk back into her armchair and nodded shily.

“The least we can do is try. Would be fun to figure out how humans actually work down there and what to do with it.”

Melody giggled. “That is so innocently cute. I would love to swim out there with you right now.”

“Are there no breathing devices for humans? I remember seeing something like that.”

“That depends on how deep we are. Our bodies can’t withstand a lot of pressure.”

Famine shook her head. “Too deep for humans. This side is one point five kilometres below the surface, the border world side is two kilometres deep.”

“That’s too far even with breathing gear.”

Isha nodded understandingly. “Then we will have to meet on the shore next time. The forty to fifty metres I need should be fine for you with breathing gear, right?”

“That’s absolutely fine. Famine, is there a region of shallower water near here?”

Famine nodded. “The other side of the island of Tehom. The waters do not reach more than two hundred metres if you remain within several kilometres of the coast.”

“And this side has a lot sharper drop, that’s why we are here.”

“Correct.”

“Alright, we will meet on the other side of Tehom then. How about in two days? I have an appointment tomorrow and you need some time to explore further away from the portal.”

Isha seemed to agree. “If everyone else has time, yes.”

Nods all around confirmed that Tuesday would be the day to dive.

It was late at night when the girls returned home. Serena had fallen asleep in Famine’s arms during the teleport, so the demon had left her friends to their own devices.

Anne and Melody were snuggled together in Melody’s bed. Kuria wanted to do some reading tonight so the two humans got to enjoy a night together.

“How convenient that there is demonic breathing gear that works for humans.”

Anne giggled. “How nice that we are mostly physiologically compatible.”

“And that some demons like breathing underwater.”

“That too. We should also remind our demonic friends of bikinis.”

“What? Why… oh. Right. Serena. She isn’t used to all this and the fact that demonic swimwear is literally nothing.”

“Exactly. We might even want proper swimsuits for going a little deeper.”

“We should ask Famine about that tomorrow.”

Anne nodded. “I will try to remind you.”

Melody giggled. “Thank you. Hm… you think Isha will join the demons?”

“Pretty sure, yea. She seems quite eager ever since that option came up.”

“Understandably so. I don’t want to push her, but I would love demon Isha.”

“I would too. She is wonderful.”

“That she is.”

“I’m glad we got involved with the siren stuff.”

“Me too. Would be sad to miss out on this chance to meet someone so awesome, and it’s a nice chance to do some good.”

Anne sighed and snuggled a little closer to her lover. “There is too little good in the world.”

“At least we are putting some good out there.”

“Yea, but is it really enough?”

“I don’t know. It might never be, but at least we tried.”

“I suppose that is enough.”

Melody kissed Anne. “But what isn’t enough is the amount of sleep we are going to get at this rate.”

“N’aww, I was hoping for a little fun.” Anne pouted playfully.

“Okay, you got me. You win.” Melody giggled. “But you need to undress me first. No sex without unpacking the girlfriend.”

“Well, that’s like the third best part about it!”

“The third best? What are number one and two?”

“Number one should be obvious and number two is boobies.”

“That is obvious too.”

“It is, isn’t it?” Anne pushed the blanket aside and swung herself onto Melody. “Time to unwrap my present. Hm… maybe I should wrap you back up again though…”

“Getting kinky tonight, eh?”

“Maybe…” Anne smirked. “I am not quite sure what I am doing with you just yet.”

“Then I shall savour the anticipation.”
