In the end, it was Feng Wujiang who defied them and insisted on staying in Crimson Blood Holy Land.

It wasn’t that he intended to live or die with the Holy Land; it was just that it would be embarrassing for these Seniors from Jiu Zhou if they had to run away just because they couldn’t defeat the enemies.

Moreover, even if Blood Race members could successfully invade Crimson Blood Holy Land, these Human cultivators were still able to force their way out of there.

Lu Ye arrived just as everyone in the Holy Land was preparing for war.

He had brought United as One Ward Nexuses to them. The items alone could increase their collective power by 30 per cent. What was more, he was able to control those sealed Blood Race Dao Troopers.

Although Lu Ye had been busy as of late and never came into contact with anyone, these Seniors from Jiu Zhou had been secretly paying attention to him. Now that he was right before their eyes, they naturally had to size him up.

“Alright, all of you will take action according to the arrangements,” Feng Wujiang ordered.

Without saying anything, the Seniors activated their Spiritual Powers and left in different directions.

Only Feng Wujiang, Meng Jie, and Yue Ji remained in the same place.

“What do you need me to do, Senior Brother?” Lu Ye asked.

Feng Wujiang replied, “There are 11 islands surrounding the Holy Land which form the defence line. This defence line can never be broken, or the Holy Land will be gone for good. Junior Brother, I want you to stay on this island and assist Senior Meng Jie and Senior Yue Ji to protect this island.”

Lu Ye nodded. “Sure.” After a pause, he asked, “What are the chances of success?”

Feng Wujiang smiled. “We just have to do our best. We’ll only find out our chances of success when we start fighting the enemies.”

He patted Lu Ye’s shoulder and shot into the sky to inspect everything for the last time.

Lu Ye watched him leave before turning to look at Meng Jie and Yue Ji. “Seniors, we’ll have to rely on the two of you to protect the island.”

Yue Ji put on a faint smile. “Meng Jie and I are only two people. You’re the most important person in defending the island this time. That’s why your Senior Brother has told you to stay here. You don’t have to worry. If a powerful Blood Race member shows up, we’ll deal with him.”

Although they were among the mightiest cultivators, there were only the two of them, after all. Moreover, once the war started, powerful cultivators like them would be targeted by equally powerful Blood Race members. By then, Lu Ye and his Dao Troopers would play an important role in defending the island.

Over 100 Blood Race Dao Troopers in the Divine Ocean Realm could easily form a formation at any moment. They were a force to be reckoned with.

“We reckon there’s a 60 per cent chance we’ll achieve success.” Yue Ji helped answer the question for Feng Wujiang. “But in any war, there are all sorts of accidents and changes, so we can’t say for sure what will happen. We just have to do our best.”

Now, they only had a 60 per cent chance of achieving success. One could imagine how slim the chance was before Lu Ye’s arrival.

It wasn’t that these Seniors weren’t powerful enough; it was just that there were too few of them.

Although they had gone through decades of development and had a large population in Crimson Blood Holy Land, there were still not many cultivators.

Take this island where Lu Ye had to protect as an example. There were only around 10,000 to 20,000 cultivators.

The situations on the other islands were roughly the same.

They only had more than 100,000 cultivators, whereas a million Blood Race members were coming to attack them.

Since they were defending their own place, they were at an advantage. However, the advantage wouldn’t help much when they were facing a million enemies.

This was a war where there was a huge difference between the two parties’ numbers of soldiers.

Yue Ji and Meng Jie were getting some rest for the coming war. On the other hand, Lu Ye told Dao Thirteen to look after those Blood Race Dao Troopers before inspecting the defences on the island on his own.

It had to be said that the Heavens of Jiu Zhou had given them sufficient supplies. There were all sorts of hideous-looking weapons on the walls, and every weapon was assisted by a Ward, which was controlled by several cultivators.

Lu Ye sensitively detected that a lot of Wards had been set up in the city. The United as One Grand Ward was among them.

He had given them a lot of United as One Ward Nexuses. Some skilful Ward Cultivators could study the ward nexuses and easily build the United as One Grand Ward.

It could be said that the city was fully armed.

Lu Ye felt it was such a shame that he didn’t have sufficient Fire Spirit Stones. Otherwise, he could provide them weapons of another kind that were immensely useful in a war.

However, he had used up his Fire Spirit Stones, and no Spirit Stones were found in Blood Refinement Boundary. Also, there weren’t many Fire Spirit Stones in the resources given by the Heavens.

Anyway, Lu Ye reckoned it was pointless to think about such a matter. Those from the Holy Land had done their best, and they could only leave it to fate to decide whether they would win the war.

Lu Ye was trying to get some rest as well.

All of a sudden, the sky on the horizon was full of dark clouds, which were approaching them at an astonishing speed.

“They’re coming,” Yue Ji said softly.

Lu Ye opened his eyes and saw that the sky on the horizon was full of dark clouds. Thunder was heard and lightning was seen. Beneath the clouds were countless figures who were flying or driving Artifacts towards the Holy Land.

Blood Race members didn’t need to use weapons. Rarely anyone was seen holding a weapon. Their Blood Techniques could erode the spirituality of Artifacts.

But that didn’t mean they didn’t have Flight-Type Artifacts.

The island Lu Ye was responsible for protecting was located in the North of the Holy Land. In other words, he had to face Blood Race members from the Northern frontline, which was led by Xing Yue Holy Lord.

Lu Ye felt nothing when he was with several hundred thousand Blood Race members at the bottom of the mountain in Stars and Moon Holy Land. Now that they were crossing the sea towards them, he felt immensely pressured.

While Blood Race members from the Northern frontline were crossing Divine Palace Sea and marching towards the Holy Land, armies from the other three directions where Lu Ye could not see were also pressing on.

There were no concealments on the sea. Anyway, it was impossible to conceal so many people, and the Blood Race members didn’t have any intention of doing so.

They were so brazenly invading their territory. If not for the fact that those from Crimson Blood Holy Land had defeated them on several occasions, many of them would’ve trembled with fear.

Compared with the pressure brought by the Blood Race soldiers, Lu Ye was more concerned about another thing.

He had a feeling that a malicious intent was streaming towards him from all directions. It was as though a pair of invisible eyes were watching him, and their owner was ready to hurt him.

The Soaring Dragon Boundary’s Source within his body was trembling, which had never happened before.

Lu Ye instantly realised the invisible malicious intent came from this world’s willpower, which was vague and incomplete.

It wasn’t as clear and strong as the Heavens of Jiu Zhou. Lu Ye couldn’t feel it previously because the Heavens had made some concealments when sending him to this world. Moreover, compared with the expansive Blood Refinement Boundary, a Real Lake Realm Master like him didn’t deserve the attention of this world’s willpower.

But it was different now. Blood Race members were coming to attack them. The situation caused the world’s willpower to be clearer.

Crimson Blood Holy Land was like a tumour to the Blood Race. Since Blood Refinement Boundary was ruled by the Blood Race, it was only natural that the world’s willpower would help them.

But there was nothing more.

Unlike the Heavens of Jiu Zhou which could directly interfere in the cultivators’ affairs, the willpower of Blood Refinement Boundary didn’t have such a power. It could only boost the Blood Race members’ morale and mount pressure on the Humans.

The dark clouds that had come with the Blood Race members were the willpower’s doing.

The Source within Lu Ye’s body was trembling because Soaring Dragon Boundary was destroyed by Blood Boundary.

No one knew of the relationship between Blood Boundary and Blood Refinement Boundary, but Blood Race members existed in both worlds. Naturally, the Soaring Dragon Boundary’s Source reacted negatively when facing this world’s willpower which had something to do with the one which had destroyed it.

Blood Race members were getting closer, and Humans stood solemnly on all 11 islands.

As the distance between them was shortening, they could hear the Blood Race members threatening to kill them from afar.

The countless dark clouds were also charging forward alongside the Blood Race members, hovering over Crimson Blood Holy Land and its surrounding islands.

There was no more light in the sky as the entire world seemed to have turned dim. In this sullen atmosphere, everyone felt as if they were covered with over ten blankets.

When buzzes were heard, all the patterns lit up and tore through the darkness, turning into the brightest light in this world.

The Human cultivators standing on the walls had activated the Wards.

At that moment, the entire city was covered in a complicated Grand Ward. Everyone in the city was instantly energised. They had a feeling that they were able to infuse their powers into the Ward and let anyone in the city use their powers. Similarly, they could also draw energy from the Ward which other people had infused into.

The United as One Grand Ward was the first to be activated.

There were 11 United as One Grand Wards on all 11 islands, which illuminated the entire Divine Palace Sea like 11 torchlights.

Buzzes were continuously heard. Following the United as One Grand Ward, the defences on the walls were activated as well.

When a crunching sound was heard, Yue Ji and Meng Jie, who stood on each side of Lu Ye, turned to look at him. They felt their eyelids twitching when they saw what he was doing.

Yue Ji couldn’t believe her eyes. “What are you eating?”

Lu Ye held out the half-finished Blood Crystal for her. “Do you want some, Senior?”

Although Yue Ji was experienced, she was still astounded. “Are you sure you can eat this?”

“I have a big appetite, and my digestion system works well.” Lu Ye smiled and gulped down the Blood Crystal in his mouth. He activated his Spiritual Power and infused it into the Ward so that others could draw energy from it.

Yue Ji stiffly looked away.

She had no intention of dissuading him from doing that. Although Lu Ye was young, he was a Real Lake Realm Master, after all. She didn’t need to tell him what he should or should not eat.

Even the usually taciturn Meng Jie couldn’t help but remark, “What a monster!”

It had been a long time since he arrived in Blood Refinement Boundary, but he had never seen any Human eating Blood Crystals.

[Is he even a Human?]

He had no idea what had gone wrong in Jiu Zhou. Even though Feng Wujiang was ridiculously powerful, he was still a normal person. However, Lu Ye was apparently not normal.

A tremor was suddenly felt. Following that, a light column as straight as a sword was shot from the wall, crashing into the Blood Race members.

Wherever it went, all the Blood Race members turned into dust.

The war had begun!
