Chapter 1100: Push-ups

Asher’s days were drowned in nothing but pure focus on cultivation. Days came and went without him moving; the moment another two-week mark was reached, the system would indicate it, and he would slow down his cultivation speed and eat, then focus once more.

There was no time for other thoughts, no time for entertainment like pressing his phone, or texting with his friends or Arianna. He was in work mode now, and getting distracted wasn’t something he liked doing.

When it was time to play, he would play; when it was time to work, he would work.

A month had passed since he started his cultivation, and due to the outrageous amount of Astra energy present, he could feel that his breakthrough to the Spark sub-Life Rank was coming.

Another two weeks passed, totaling a month and a half out of the three months. As he sat in his cultivation position, he felt an unknown energy spread through his body as his body began to strengthen. His muscles seemed to harden, his bones became denser, and he could feel himself getting stronger in real time. His veins seemed to contract, then dilate as they grew stronger and expanded in real time.

A couple of minutes passed before his eyes fluttered open. It had taken him a month and a half to cross to the next sub-Life Rank. Although it might seem slow, it was already outrageously fast; after all, nobody progressed this fast.

Although he had gotten stronger physically and now possessed more Astra energy than before, he didn’t exactly feel the change at this moment, as he had only felt it when he was in the process of breaking through. The Absolute Physique had already adapted him to his strength without him having to do anything.

Asher didn’t rejoice at the sudden leap in strength. He knew that even with his breakthrough, he couldn’t suddenly start matching a Spark Voidstar Life Ranker. His combat prowess still remained at the Dust Voidstar Life Rank, and that was barely enough, as the breakthrough didn’t also mean he could now take on a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker easily.

’Sighs... I already spent half of the three months I gave myself on nothing but cultivation,’ he thought to himself as he knew he only had a month and a half left, and he had five more training chambers to visit. There wasn’t almost enough time.

’If I can’t finish my training within the three months, I will extend it to four months. It’s not like there is anyone rushing me to join the Frontier immediately,’ he concluded to himself.

And indeed, there was no one who told him to spend only three months here. He could stay here for a whole year and nobody would chase him out, but he knew it wasn’t right to stay for this long.

’I wonder how long my next breakthrough would be,’ he thought to himself.

If just getting to the Spark sub-Life Rank had taken a month and a half here, it meant that getting to the Flare sub-Life Rank, which was the next sub-Life Rank, would take around two to three months.

And that was even considering the fact that he was in this specialized training facility that tailored everything to his needs. If this was a normal cultivation chamber, just getting to the Spark sub-Life Rank, which he had just entered right now, wouldn’t take a month and a half, but even longer.

’No wonder people spend a couple of years at various Life Ranks and sub-Life Ranks.’ He shook his head as he rose to his feet. ’The higher the Life Rank, the harder the progress.’

He cracked his neck and his fingers, then began to stretch as though he was stiff, but he wasn’t, as the Absolute Physique had kept him in perfect shape. Still, since he had been seated in one place for a month and a half while only moving once every two weeks, he felt like moving his body around before heading to the next training chamber.

He jumped up, his head reaching the roof before gravity claimed him. He rotated his shoulders, moved his waist a bit, then nodded at himself.

’Should I check my status screen?’ he thought to himself, tempted to see just by how much his stats had jumped, but he shook his head. He would do that after his entire training.

With that, he turned and walked away. Getting to the door, he opened it and stepped out as he arrived within a familiar hallway. He stood still for a moment as though considering which training to head to next. After a minute of intense deliberation, he chose the Physical Conditioning chamber.

Without hesitation, he turned towards the door, as it was situated on the right, pushing it open, he entered. The chamber was dark, the walls were metallic as it seemed to be made with the same indestructible metal. There wasn’t even a single mote of Astra energy here, as though the entire chamber rejected it.

Above, Asher saw a single word floating: Activate?

”Yes,” his voice came.

The moment he spoke, various pieces of information seemed to fill his mind from nowhere, as though someone was directly pouring information into his brain. It wasn’t painful, but it was definitely a bit disorienting.

The Physical Conditioning chamber possessed a Gravity feature, where gravity could be applied to each single part of the body. The chamber took it a step further by having a feature that applied the gravity only to the parts of the body he wanted. For example, he could choose to apply the gravity onto his hands, or only his legs, or waist, and the likes.

It wasn’t only that; there were various weights, but not regular weights found in a modern gym, but boulders weighing tons, each of varying weights.

Asher didn’t waste too much time, his lips opened as he spoke, ”Full body gravity.”

The moment those words left his lips, gravity instantly intensified, but not to an unbearable level. After all, he was here for training, not to be broken or punished.

The moment he felt the strain on his body, he immediately dropped to the ground and started doing push-ups as the intensified gravity remained on his body. Asher’s eyes remained open as his arms pushed him up and brought him down. He went very low, his chest barely centimeters from touching the ground.

He didn’t need to set or adjust the gravity settings, as it seemed the data that Runera had gotten from their battle was enough. Asher didn’t stop. Within minutes, his body was already covered in sweat. He, who could fight for hours before breaking a sweat, was now drenched.

Minutes passed before his hands began to scream for mercy, his chest tightened, but he didn’t stop. Every five minutes, he would transition into another type of push-up, as he didn’t just perform the standard types.

Wide-Grip Push-ups. Asher Push-ups. Pike Push-ups. Clap Push-ups. Rotation Push-ups.

Whenever he felt like he couldn’t go on anymore, he would stand, and the gravity function would immediately deactivate as though it understood. Resting for a bit was also part of the exercise, so he walked around as he panted for a moment, his sweat dripping onto the ground. After ten minutes of rest, he got back to the grind, refusing to allow the growing fatigue to dictate the pace of his training.
