Cleaver Of Sin

Chapter 904: Word-wide Reaction

Unlike Arianna, who processed everything with an almost calm expression, the world didn’t.

At this moment, people sat stunned, and why? They had nearly died. The entire Coliseum had nearly collapsed. The green barrier that had been put up for their own entertainment, allowing them to feel the diluted shockwaves, heat, and blast-wave impacts while also protecting them, had been totally destroyed and torn apart like it was a sheet of paper.

If it wasn’t for the Crownstar Life Rankers, who had moved at the same time, the number of dead people would have rocketed to over a million.

People swallowed hard. Even the combination of technology and abilities that slowed down fights for the weaker ones to follow hardly worked, as all they saw were blurs, streaks of motion, disasters, and an apocalypse that wiped out kilometers of land, distances even larger than their own homes and villages.

They had cheered at every fight till now, jubilated at every single one, screamed for more, asked for more peak, wished for more absolute cinema. Now, the absolute cinema was right in front of them, and they couldn’t speak, they couldn’t blink, their bodies trembled as Asher’s last attack made both their bodies and souls react with sensations of death. Some had already outright fainted on the spot from the sheer overload of fear.

They couldn’t help but ask themselves if students were supposed to be this strong. But if students were this strong, could cause such a scale of madness and destruction, then how strong were the adults? How strong were Crownstar Life Rankers if they didn’t hold anything back? How strong were Voidstar and Soulstar Life Rankers if they also stopped holding back?

Their minds couldn’t help but wrestle with such questions.

But the next moment, adrenaline, dopamine, serotonin, and pure ecstasy coursed through their bodies in massive waves, overriding every fear they had felt in that moment and every sensation of death they had experienced earlier as they rose to their feet in utter madness and…

“FUCKING EPIC!!!!”

“ASHER!!!” “ASHER!!!” “ASHER!!!” “ASHER!!!”

“SONG OF VIRELASS!!!” “SONG OF VIRELASS!!!”

“STAR CREATOR!!!” “STAR CREATOR!!!”

“THE DOMINATOR!!!” “THE ECLIPSER!!!”

“CRUSHER OF TALENTS!!!” “ABSOLUTE CINEMA!!!”

“TENTH SUN? NAH, STAR!!!!” “PEAK!!!” “PEAK!!!”

“HUMANITY’S MOST TALENTED!!!”

“STAR FORM!!!” “STAR FORM!!!” “STAR FORM!!!”

“DAZZLING SUPERNOVA!!!” “DAZZLING SUPERNOVA!!!”

Everything hit its peak as the collective chants and voices of two million spectators shook the Coliseum. Cracks ran across the building, bleachers and chairs shattered as people went crazy in every literal sense of the word. Even those who had fainted awoke from the sheer volume of the noise and the earthquake it generated, and the moment they woke up, they joined the chants.

Every single pane of glass, even those that were mildly reinforced, cracked and shattered, bursting apart under the ridiculous pitch of their screams. At this moment, people forgot they had bet their life savings on Arianna, and she had lost.

Throughout every Empire; Zarethorne, Velkarin, Vandross, and Thalvorn, Asher’s name blazed through every voice, every single ear hearing his name. Even monsters and beasts fled backward, as to them it was as though the Human Race were about to wage war.

Void-class and End-class Monsters and Beasts that spent most of their time hibernating also arose from their slumber as the collective roar disturbed them. Their ears and senses picked up on the name, on the cause for which their slumber had been disturbed, but the moment they heard it was a Wargrave, they all closed their eyes and continued sleeping, simply cancelling out all noise and sound that reached their lairs.

The Zarethorne Empire was the worst. Soldiers and knights could barely hold back their fellow enthusiastic citizens without causing any injuries. The soldiers and knights were helpless; they too wanted to watch and chant at the top of their lungs instead of being stuck there on duty.

A book on Asher’s biography was already on sale as someone within the Wargrave Ducal Estate, a merchant, had already capitalized on the hype and sold millions of copies. Truly, a merchant was a merchant.

If anyone who didn’t know what was happening looked at the scene, they would think it was a riot. Mothers clutched their children as they all screamed. At this moment, dreams were born, and even the few who had felt unmotivated to train found blazing determination.

Throughout the world, children who had yet to awaken immediately abandoned their weapons and picked up rapiers. People began to draw the symbol of a Star on their foreheads. Some went as far as changing their names. Those who possessed the same affinities as Asher, such as Lightning, Light, Space, and Gravity, became the most determined to rise to Asher’s level.

In front of statues that had been created during the past rounds for Asher, people knelt, their heads touching the ground as though Asher were now a god in their hearts.

Who didn’t know he had been laughed at by the world? Who didn’t know he had been looked down upon? Who didn’t know it had taken him two years to reach this level? Who didn’t know he had awakened on his third try?

At this moment, those who had awakened on their third attempt couldn’t help but cry tears of joy. With Asher disproving the theory that those who awakened on their third attempt were useless, they all swore to train until their deaths.

At this moment, John was leading the charge in another direction with his caravan members as they began to tell tales of Asher and how they had once seen him and ridden the same carriage with him for a week. People immediately made plans to visit the Blackstone Village for a vacation and hear tales of Asher.

A few bartenders and inn managers whom Asher had met during his various missions couldn’t help but widen their eyes. They took pictures, hung up framed paintings of Asher, and announced that Asher had once been in their establishments.

The ten villages that had been involved in the mission concerning Debro were also crying their eyes out. Even the blind old man, who was the Village Chief of Blackstone Village, received the update.

This moment, this day, this competition… a great many lives were about to change.

Back at the cracking Coliseum, people hadn’t stopped shouting.

“SCRAP THE INTER-EMPIRE TOURNAMENT!!!”

“SCRAP THE INTER-EMPIRE TOURNAMENT!!!”

“SCRAP THE INTER-EMPIRE TOURNAMENT!!!”

“SCRAP THE INTER-EMPIRE TOURNAMENT!!!”

It became their anthem at that moment.

And their reason? Simple. After such spectacular brilliance, after such a perfect match, after such an epic run, after such a legendary display, after such a mythical show of power, the next generation of talents was not allowed to desecrate such a holy display. They would not allow it. They couldn’t allow it. They wouldn’t stay alive for it.

People immediately jumped into the battlefield. Although Asher was kilometers away from them, as Cindralis had made the battlefield four hundred kilometers wide, they didn’t care. They ran. They wanted to touch him, they wanted to hold him, they wanted to see what made him who he was, they wanted to at least speak to him.

They wanted to…

At this moment, Arianna Haellight, whom people had been raving about, became a background character. She was forgotten, just like how the second man who landed on the moon was never remembered.

At this point, did she deserve the title, ‘Hope Of The World?’

In the hearts of all, in the hearts of billions, in the hearts of children, adults, nobles, merchants, and commoners, only one name existed; Asher Wargrave.

Asher Wargrave truly was… HIM.
