Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 1013: Chapter 1017: It’s Just Too Awkward

The driver helped carry the things inside and then took his leave.

The two women had just sat down when they heard a voice from the yard: ”Auntie, I’m back.”

Yuan Zining dashed into the house: ”Auntie, they said we have guests at home. Who is it?”

The little one spotted Jiang Jingya sitting on the sofa as soon as he entered: ”Beautiful Grandma, why are you here?”

Jiang Jingya affectionately pulled the little guy over to her side: ”I came to see you both. Does it bother you if I stay here for a while?”

The moment she said this, Yuan Zining was momentarily stunned, then blinked his big eyes and asked, ”Really?”

Jiang Jingya teased the little one’s nose: ”Of course.”

Yuan Zining was delighted: ”This is great! My Auntie won’t have to work so hard now. I was even thinking about calling my Grandpa to take me away, but Uncle hasn’t returned, and I don’t feel safe leaving her alone.”

Jiang Jingya didn’t expect the little boy to say that: ”Why did you want to leave?”

Yuan Zining pouted: ”Auntie is pregnant. I don’t want her to be so tired.”

Now Jiang Jingya understood why the little guy was so happy. Clearly, he thought another person had come to help share the household chores, and her expression froze.

There aren’t many tasks here, mainly the daily meals, but she was hopeless at cooking, which was quite embarrassing.

However, she quickly reacted: ”Well, Zining, Grandma is telling you, later on, another Grandma will come over who cooks very well. You should eat more then.”

Hearing this, Yuan Zining frowned: ”Is that Grandma also coming to stay for a while?”

Jiang Jingya nodded: ”Yes, she’s coming over to cook delicious meals to nourish your Auntie and the baby in her belly.”

Upon hearing this, Yuan Zining looked up at Jiang Jingya, then turned to Yunyi: ”Auntie, call Grandpa. Ask him to send someone to pick me up.”

Yunyi knew what the little guy was thinking: ”You worry a lot for someone so young.”

Yuan Zining raised his head: ”But....”

He didn’t finish his sentence before Yunyi continued: ”Don’t worry, the other room doesn’t have a heated bed but has a fire wall. We can remove the partition and set up a coal stove, that should do it.

Now go call Auntie Lü from next door; Auntie wants to ask for her help.”

Yuan Zining was happy now, as he indeed didn’t want to leave. Firstly, he wanted to stay with his Auntie for a few more days, and secondly, he wanted to play with the new friends he’d just met: ”I’ll go right away.”

With that, he dashed out.

Wan Ruhua arrived quickly: ”Yunyi, you called for me.”

Yunyi was in the room without a heated bed, taking bedding out of the cabinet: ”Sister-in-law, I’m in this room.”

Wan Ruhua entered and immediately saw Jiang Jingya: ”Hello, and you are?”

Jiang Jingya greeted her with a smile: ”Hi, I’m Yunyi’s mother-in-law. You can call me Auntie Jiang.”

Wan Ruhua looked shocked: ”Are you Deputy Commander Huo’s mother?”

Jiang Jingya smiled and nodded at her: ”Absolutely.”

Wan Ruhua slapped her thigh: ”Oh my, you are so young!”

Yunyi approached at this point: ”Don’t we look like sisters standing together?”

Wan Ruhua laughed and clapped: ”You’re right; your mother-in-law is truly young.”

Then Wan Ruhua switched topics: ”By the way, what do you need me for?”

Yunyi hurriedly asked: ”Sister-in-law, I heard Jingrui mention that this room was remodeled with a fire wall left in place. I want to know, where is the partition located?”
