Rebirth: The Courtyard Bride Is Cool and Radiant

Chapter 717: Chapter 717: Two Letters for You

That day, just as Yunyi walked out of the Workers’ Hospital, she heard someone calling her: ”Doctor Chu, there’s a letter for you at the gatekeeper’s office.”

Yunyi turned her head toward the voice: ”Thanks, I’ll head over right now.”

The person scratched his head and chuckled sheepishly: ”No need to thank me, just something I mentioned in passing when I saw it.”

With that, he blushed and ran off.

Yunyi shook her head with a smile and headed straight to the gatekeeper’s office: ”Old Liu, I’m here to pick up my letters.”

Old Liu, the gatekeeper, smiled and took out envelopes addressed to Chuyunyi from the glass window: ”There are two letters for you.”

Saying this, he passed the letters over.

Upon hearing she had two letters, Yunyi was a bit puzzled, but when she saw the return address, she understood.

Besides the letter from her mentor, there was also a letter from her parents at the Ye Family.

She did not open the letters immediately and waited until she returned to the Tubular Building before opening them.

In the mentor’s letter, it mentioned that Yuan Zining really enjoyed the strawberry jam she had sent earlier and even had some differences with two friends over it, boasting daily about having a pretty and capable little mentor’s wife.

Following this, it was mentioned that his old friend’s son encountered an avalanche a few years ago while on a mission. When he was rescued, he was already numb from the cold.

Though he survived, he was left with a hidden ailment. Her mentor had helped check, but relying solely on Western medicine wasn’t sustainable.

He wanted to ask Yunyi when she could make a trip to Beijing to help with acupuncture, knowing full well the skills of his little disciple.

He also knew that Yunyi would be getting her marriage certificate soon and mentioned to keep an eye out for a package.

After putting the letter away, she opened the one sent by the Ye Family.

They possibly learned about her situation from Ye Wenhui and asked in a very gentle tone, mentioning they initially wanted to call but feared it would be abrupt, so they wrote a letter first instead.

Yunyi kept the letter, pondering that such a big event as her marriage could not bypass the Ye Family, so she tidied up and headed over to Huo Jingrui’s place.

When she arrived, Huo Jiayuan was opening a package: ”Fourth Sister-in-law, come quick, my mom sent a package to Fourth Brother.”

Yunyi smiled and said, ”You go ahead and open it, I’ll join you after making a call.”

Huo Jiayuan replied to Yunyi, ”Okay, I’ll go ahead and open it.”

Yunyi went inside and dialed the number Ye Bingyu left her: ”Hello, can I speak with Ye Bingyu?”

”This is he, and you are?”

As he asked, he suddenly thought of something: ”Yunyi, is that you?”

”Dad, it’s me.”

”Yunyi, we received the letter from Wenhui sent to our home, we learned about your situation...”

Perhaps fearing Yunyi would misunderstand: ”Don’t get us wrong, we’re not trying to interfere with your marriage, just wanted to know the specifics.”

Yunyi didn’t hide anything, as she had already acknowledged the Ye Family. She then shared her decision with Ye Bingyu: ”Jingrui and I are planning to register on October 9th and will have a few tables at the cafeteria. We plan to hold another ceremony when we return to Beijing for New Year.”

She didn’t want it to be so troublesome, but she knew with her future mother-in-law’s personality, she wouldn’t let her son be wronged, and with Huo Jingrui’s personality, he wouldn’t consider just throwing some candy as a wedding.

Ye Bingyu, upon hearing that his daughter would be getting married next month, had mixed emotions—she hadn’t even had a proper courtship, and now she was getting married: ”Since you’ve decided, your mom and I will definitely attend on time.”

Yunyi was about to say that since there would be another ceremony during New Year when they returned, they didn’t need to take leave specifically if they couldn’t make it.

Before she spoke, she heard Ye Bingyu say, ”We must attend your wedding, so people know you have your natal family standing with you.”
