Cultivation Struggles of a Lowly Fox

Moon Aiko combed her tails with her fingers. They were quite dirty from this journey, mostly because her body was unattended in this place.

Looking at her system, many things changed.

The most startling change would be her age. The ’No concept of Age’ was amusing to say the least, but what did it actually mean?

Did that mean she can use Life Arts, techniques that use lifespan, without any negative effects? If that was the case she would become the most powerful Cultivator, even before climbing the ladder.

’It feels like it’s supposed to discourage me...’ When Moon Aiko thought about it again, she had all the time in the world, so she didn’t really need to use techniques that would keep self-harming her.

Her mark changed a lot, depending on the ’Aiko’ she would have a different mark on her forehead, but when she really focused on it, the mark would manifest in all of its glory.

Aiko would also be able to see anything and everything, at the cost of exhaustion. She could also further enhance this by pouring Qi into it, but the ability was already powerful enough that she didn’t need to do that.

Skipping her tails, she arrived at her providence. Moon Aiko was pleased that it jumped like this, but she was once again limited, this time by the Mortal World itself.

It’s not... unexpected, but she had hoped that she would get more leeway to play around, but that didn’t seem to be the case.

Aiko clicked her title, since she was curious why they shrunk so much.

[[Royal Court Spirit Fox] is Title based on the number of your tails.]

[You can strengthen, adjust and exchange the abilities between your tails.]

[Each tail has a different ’attribute’, meaning that no single tail is superior to the other, but it is better to carefully consider your options.]

”I can’t switch between them at will?” Moon Aiko immediately asked and while the system was taking a while to answer, they still told her the truth.

[You can, but two same abilities might have the same ’attribute’, so you will still have to think about it.]

”Oho~” Moon Aiko quite liked that, but whenever she clicked the title, nothing happened.

[The Title is not completely settled in your body. Your tails jumped too much and too abruptly, so it’s adjusting inside your body before you can use it.]

”...” Moon Aiko didn’t know if she should be happy or speechless, but probably happy, right?

Her companions’ attitude towards her changed subtly. It was cute seeing Yuxi having ’fangirling’ in her affection, but then Moon Aiko thought that it was only natural. There was not a Fox like her.

Her stats jumped sharply, not only she achieved the peak of Mahayana Stage, but she also had further 14*3 enhancement from her tails.

That was pretty much monumental as it gave her 42 times the strength. However, Moon Aiko also noticed she couldn’t use most of that power.

’Mortal World...’ Her assumption was correct, since with her strength she would easily dominate anything and everything in her path, but the most troubling thing was her ’power’.

The power behind every single one of her moves would be enough to wreck any place in this Mortal World.

Such mindless destruction was not permitted, so that power couldn’t be used until Moon Aiko left this place for a higher plane.

’Well, it’s still fine.’ Moon Aiko nodded her head.

Most of her stats formed into categories. You had the mind category, which allowed her to control Divine Sense, or anything that relied on mind, with greater precision and power.

Her Divine Sense was... undeveloped, to say the least, but Aiko was not in a hurry. Her body was complete, but troubling.

’My Toughness dropped sharply.’ While it seemed like her body was powerful, that was not the case- Well, it was, she was powerful, but not balanced.

Her body was soft, exceptionally so, which means her damage immunity dropped with it.

Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

However, when it came to her dexterity, or rather other stats, she felt like there was no limit to them.

Moon Aiko could, in theory, max out her dexterity and blow everyone’s mind, or adjust her Divine Sense so that she could operate several Cauldrons at once. The opportunities were endless.

Her Moon Essence was also maxed after this, making Moon Aiko feel at ease.

However, not everything was good and dandy. Her beauty jumped too much, was it 10 times? She would have to increase her efforts in getting higher concealment or even pick a few of them at the same time to empower the effect!

With Cultivation Points increased, Moon Aiko was considering buying some things, but there were some things that bothered her about the new ’shop’.

”Does that mean that if I learn something, it also counts towards the progress of the discount?” Moon Aiko asked her system, since this was important.

[Yes, Princess. As long as you are able to grasp the true meaning behind the technique, it would count as yours and thus reduce the prices of affiliated techniques.]

”Do I still have to buy them for others?” Moon Aiko narrowed her eyes.

[It’s a symbolic price.]

Moon Aiko clicked her tongue. She understood what the system was doing. To make Karma more balanced, but she was always broke! She wanted to enjoy her wealth!

Looking at her Laws, they improved slightly, but there was a new one.

Primordial Law of Soul.

It allowed her to peer and manipulate Soul on such scale and severity that it bypassed the judgement of Heavenly Dao.

This would be very handy if Moon Aiko was able to use it, but...

”Euk-!” Moon Aiko almost vomited when she focused on her Soul.

”Ugh...” She groaned unhappily. It was not that her own Soul harmed her, but it was in such complex form that the ability hit her back when she least expected it.

”Phew...” Moon Aiko breathed a sigh of relief when she noticed that feeling was gone as quickly as it came at her.

”Hmmm...”

Looking below it. The Elemental Affinity jumped a lot. She would be able to heal a lot more from her opponents, but what was the case when she was already a monster?

[You can make use of this in your Human Body Stage.]

”Real shit?!” Moon Aiko snapped her back around, looking at her system that was talking right behind her.

[...]

”Ahem...” Moon Aiko coughed awkwardly as she sat down, looking at the system in normal position.

”Are you for real?” Moon Aiko asked again, but this time in more dignified form.

[En.]

’That means if I improve it further I will be able to-

Suddenly a message appeared in front of Moon Aiko.

[Life Multistep Mission!]

[Harmony (Step 1)]

[Perfectly balance your Bloodlines.]

There was no reward, but Moon Aiko was able to estimate what she would get.

’Perhaps a perfect Human Body.’ Moon Aiko nodded her head seriously as she looked at the rest.

Her Vitality crashed and blablabla-

[Soul Domain (Size: 3)]

”Hmmm...” This rascal ate her [Sleeping] ability, which was upsetting, but there was also the [Serene Library (Mortal)] that took away the [Perfect Memory (Stage 0)].

[Perfect Memory is no longer needed as you can record anything and everything into the Library and you can view it later.]

”But that only counts for the Mortal World.” Moon Aiko shook her head. She was very unhappy about that part, but she would just ignore it for now.

[That might be true for now, but as you grow, everything will ’loosen up’.]

It seemed like the system was hinting at something, but Aiko simply looked at her system again.

Her [Soul Domain] and [Intention Perception] each moved into her Innate Abilities, which could move from body to body. Her linguistic skill also improved, but Aiko didn’t see any kind of difference in her speech or thoughts, so she was not sure what that signified.

As for the rest, nothing noteworthy changed, so Aiko was pretty much just waiting for her Title to settle down before she considered her next move.

Well, her outwardly move would be to finish exploring this place before it completely crumbled, but Moon Aiko had this uncanny feeling like something would go down around her.

*Yawn*

Moon Aiko yawned gently. It seemed like she was tired from the Soul battle, making her particularly sleepy.

’I have to stay awake for a bit more.’ Moon Aiko clicked her tongue again. It seemed like this would become a habit for her, but she could feel her body growing colder.

Well, not just growing colder, but her emotions became more muted, making her into a true ice beauty.

However, Moon Aiko didn’t like that. While cold judgement was good, it was not always good. Sometimes, it was important to bend the rules and see what would happen, but if this kept going, Moon Aiko would be unable to do that.

’Is that why I have to reach Harmony?’ Moon Aiko had another close-to-correct assumption, but this time the system didn’t chime in.

’Well, when it happens, it happens.’ Moon Aiko wouldn’t dwell on it too much as she slowly stood up.

”Hm...” Looking at her body, she wondered if Mei preferred them big or small.

While currently she was not small, who knows when ’that’ Aiko would return and if she did would she keep the same body? Probably not.

’I will deal with it when it comes to it.’ Moon Aiko shrugged like it was not her problem, but, in fact, it was her problem, and it was also very serious...

...

Moon Aiko stretched a bit. Her fascinating body swayed gently. Moon Aiko was now considering exploring on foot, but...

’Should I bring out the two of them?’ Moon Aiko was considering it, but since this place was crumbling, they might get into danger.

’Yeah, let’s not.’ Moon Aiko didn’t want to deal with the aftermath, so it was better to not bring them out.

As for any points of interest? She didn’t have any.

Other than the large quantity of withered flowers and now walking Beasts, it didn’t seem like there was much to plunder.

That was only natural... Moon Aiko already robbed them of their most expensive Treasure.

’Thinking about it again, what does that number mean?’ Moon Aiko was curious, so she clicked it.

[Soul Domain (Size: 3)]

The Soul Domain had two parts, one that sat at the top with other Soul Treasures, and one on the bottom which seemed more restrained, but that was beside the point.

’I wonder what that number means...’ Moon Aiko felt like she would uncover something nice if she paid attention to this~!
