Fat and Ugly Villainess Wins Back Her Five Beast Husband

That said, several beast husbands were secretly competing with one another.

Seeing Sora’s troubled expression, Clare shared her own experience with the Moon God Festival.

”I was tortured quite a bit by the Moon God Festival last year,” Clare said with a sigh. ”I received some very nice gifts from Omar and the others. In the end, I chose one of them, and the others weren’t too happy about it.”

She paused before continuing.

”The Moon God Festival represents a female’s affection for her beast husband. If you choose one beast husband, naturally, the others will feel sad.”

Sora listened carefully.

”So how did you resolve it in the end?”

”What else could I do?” Clare replied helplessly. ”I had to hide it from the two of them and secretly went on a date with each of them for three consecutive days.”

Her expression became complicated as she remembered the experience.

”My waist almost broke, and my legs were trembling so much that I could hardly walk.”

Zainabu chuckled when she heard this.

”Isn’t that because Sister Clare is liked by her brothers-in-law?”

”Being liked is being liked,” Clare said, ”but sometimes it’s quite torturous.”

She then looked strangely at Zainabu.

”Don’t you have three beast husbands? Why does your reaction seem so calm?”

Zainabu shyly lowered her eyes.

”I made an agreement with them. We celebrate the Moon God Festival three times a year, so each of them has a chance to spend the festival with me.”

Clare’s eyes immediately lit up.

”No wonder you said you can choose which gift you like and which beast husband to pick. That’s a good method. I want to learn it too.”

She turned toward Sora.

”Kaelira, how are you planning to handle the Moon God Festival?”

Sora’s expression stiffened.

Zainabu’s method is good. I can learn from it.

But then she quickly calculated the number of beast husbands she had.

Three Moon God Festivals might be manageable.

But she had six beast husbands.

Six!

If she had to celebrate with all six separately, Sora felt that it would be the end of her life.

Although Zainabu’s method was good, it simply wasn’t applicable to her situation.

She couldn’t think of a solution for the moment, so she immediately changed the topic.

Pointing ahead, she said, ”I’ll go check over there. It seems like they placed the stones incorrectly.”

Before Clare and Zainabu could say anything else, Sora quickly walked away.

After Sora left, Zainabu looked at Clare and lowered her voice.

”Kaelira has six beast husbands. Her situation is different from ours. She will definitely be busy during this Moon God Festival.”

Clare nodded.

”That’s true. Three are already enough trouble for me. With six, Kaelira definitely won’t have it easy.”

She sighed.

”People used to envy her for having six beast husbands. But now that I think about it, having three is quite good.”

”Exactly,” Zainabu agreed. ”More people means more trouble.”

”I also think three is pretty good.”

Meanwhile, Martin placed great importance on purifying the salt.

This time, he required everyone in the tribe to participate.

The females were responsible for some simple tasks, such as changing the water, while the beastmen needed to cooperate according to Sora’s arrangements.

The pottery-making skills had already been taught to the tribe by Clare and Zainabu.

According to what Sora had instructed previously, they had already prepared ten large clay pots and containers in advance.

The coarse salt had been completely soaked in water, and the plant ash had also been burned by the females.

Sora needed a portion of the people to add the plant ash.

Each group also had to have one person closely monitoring the process.

This was to prevent unnecessary things from being mixed into the salt water.

And, of course, it was also meant to guard against a certain treacherous person.

Serena had been waiting for an opportunity.

She had finally found a chance and was about to take advantage of it to add the ash herself.

However, just as she was preparing to make her move, she discovered that Sora had already sent someone to keep a close watch over the process.

Serena’s expression darkened.

She couldn’t make a move at all.

Was it really necessary to be so cautious over adding ash?

She was extremely annoyed.

Nearby, Sora instructed someone to add the plant ash to the salt water.

Before long, the murky salt water suddenly became much clearer.

This astonished the surrounding beastmen.

They hadn’t expected that something as seemingly dirty as plant ash could have such an effect.

Ryan of them had already seen Sora purify salt once before, so his reaction wasn’t as intense as it had been the first time.

After seeing Sora use plant ash previously, he had also tried experimenting with it himself.

He discovered that as long as there were dirty substances in the water, they could be absorbed and removed to a certain extent with plant ash.

Previously, Sora had been holding a bag and burning some grass.

He had suspected that she might have been using it during her menstrual period.

However, that was ultimately a bodily function unique to females, making it inconvenient for him to study.

Even so, he still had many questions about Sora’s various operations.

Therefore, when he learned that the tribe would be purifying salt today, he quickly came over.

For example, why was Sora putting different stones into the jars?

And why was she adding a layer of burned wood?

The other processes were relatively simple.

But these details genuinely puzzled him.

Sora, meanwhile, was mainly focused on the filtering device in front of her.

The amounts of coarse sand, fine sand, and charcoal, as well as the way they were arranged, all had to be precise.

She closely monitored the beastmen as they worked.

Only after confirming that the proportions were correct did she allow them to pour the salt water from the jar.

Seeing this, the curious beastman walked over with his arms crossed.

He looked at Sora and asked,

”Why are you putting these things into the jar? Won’t it make the salt dirtier?”

Sora pointed toward the salt water inside the container.

”On the contrary. Look carefully.”

She pointed to the different layers.

”The salt water first passes through the coarse sand and then the fine sand. The larger particles of dirt get trapped here.”

She moved her finger lower.

”The dirt that continues flowing downward becomes less and less. When the water reaches the black charcoal, the remaining impurities are absorbed by it, making the salt water cleaner.”

The beastman leaned forward to take a closer look at the salt water Sora had mentioned.

Indeed, the murky salt water had become much clearer.

He nodded.

For once, his expression was unusually serious.

”You filtered out all the dirt slowly. You’re very smart.”

Sora didn’t respond immediately.

This method wasn’t something she had invented herself.

She had merely learned from the wisdom of others and adapted it to the current situation.

Therefore, she didn’t feel that she deserved such praise.

But the beastman was genuinely impressed.

Another curious person nearby had also perked up his ears upon hearing the explanation.

After learning the reason behind Sora’s actions, he expressed his admiration for her intelligence once again.

”How did you come up with such a good method?”

He looked at Sora with obvious admiration.

”You’re much smarter than those people in the city-state.”

Sora remained focused on her work, unaware of how much attention she was attracting.

The beastman couldn’t help but glance at her a couple more times.

The more he watched her, the more mysterious she seemed.

Sora was clearly not just skilled at cooking.

She knew how to make pottery, purify salt, build useful tools, and teach the tribe members how to perform complicated processes.

Every time he thought he understood her abilities, she would reveal something new.

And that made him even more curious about her.

As the salt purification continued, the tribe square became increasingly busy.

The females carried water and prepared materials, while the beastmen followed Sora’s instructions carefully.

Sora moved between the groups, checking every container and correcting mistakes whenever she noticed them.

She had no idea that, while she was busy working, the matter of the Moon God Festival was already spreading throughout the tribe.

Nor did she realize that her six beast husbands were likely thinking about the same thing.

The festival was approaching.

And for Sora, the biggest challenge wasn’t choosing a gift.

It was figuring out how to survive the attention of six beast husbands who all wanted her favor.
