Realized Game: I Hoarded 10 Billion Defense Towers

Its total size had already expanded by several hundred times. Furthermore, its ”Defense Power” had also increased by an immeasurable degree.

Based on his high-school-level understanding of astrophysics, Shen Fei figured that since Blue Star had changed so drastically yet remained stable, the entire Solar System must have undergone some kind of change as well.

Unfortunately, according to detections made by surviving astronomers using the remaining astronomical equipment, no major changes had been observed in the other planets throughout the system. At least, not from the outside...

There must be changes! But they’re probably not visible to the naked eye...

He recalled what he had once heard from Huang Yi. ”They said there seemed to be some changes several light-years beyond the Solar System, in the far reaches of space. But because the equipment was damaged, the specifics are still unknown.”

Drawing a firm conclusion is even harder...

Looking up at the sky, Shen Fei mulled over this piece of information. Unfortunately, it was still too early to turn it into a solid conclusion.

What about versions 4.8, 4.9, and even 5.0?

Gazing at the atmosphere above, which had already begun to shift from deep blue to a faint crimson, Shen Fei couldn’t help but wonder.

Although he had been reborn and the version updates were coming faster, he knew very well what was in store. Version 4.6 was all about bloodlines. Simply put, it meant humans could stop being human. You could change your bloodline based on your inherited abilities, your personal preferences, or to synergize with a particular item’s effect, and thus take on a non-human form. What’s more, the purity of these non-human bloodlines could be refined and evolved using items like Bloodline Gemstones.

As for version 4.7, that was when the player’s personal panel and Experience Bar were unlocked. This allowed players and their items to be further upgraded and undergo Enhancement.

But after versions 4.6 and 4.7, Shen Fei had no idea what the subsequent versions would bring. At the time of his rebirth, version 4.7 had only just been released.

Thinking about versions 4.8 and what might come after, Shen Fei couldn’t help but sigh. Anything is possible...

. . .

”Time to get back to work!”

Half an hour later, his stargazing break over, Shen Fei flipped to his feet.

Although the fourth game ability inheritance was still a few days away and the most pressing matters were settled for now, the sheer number of tasks had not diminished. He still had a great deal to do.

Whether it was the [Ninth Network], the defense of Qing City, the future of Great Xia, the mysterious special zones, the anomalies in the Game World, or the upcoming version updates—all of these required his continued attention.

After resting for a moment, Shen Fei determined that besides the upcoming fourth game ability inheritance, he had two other important matters to attend to.

First was to explore the special zones that had appeared on Blue Star, which had possibly taken over all its oceans. The Intelligent NPC in the special zone had inexplicably died from a headshot while answering Shen Fei’s question. Faced with this situation, Shen Fei had already set his sights on exploring the special zones.

However, he wasn’t going to rush in. After some thought, he decided to use the one-week interval after his fourth game ability inheritance to probe them. The items he was set to inherit in the fourth round were countless max-level Gemstones that could be socketed into his Defense Towers. Once he inherited the Gemstones, his Defense Towers’ Combat Power would reach its peak, unless Floating Cities and Sky Control were to appear.

He decided to take his fully-powered Defense Towers and enter the special zones on a reconnaissance mission. After all, revival items were useless inside the special zones. Furthermore, the rule that caused inherited abilities to vanish every other day was still incredibly potent. Shen Fei had to be fully prepared before he would venture in.

Besides probing the special zones, Shen Fei had another idea he wanted to act on immediately: running another Secret Realm.

He had originally thought the mandatory Secret Realm mission would be a huge headache for everyone, so he had specifically set aside time to lead them through it. But he never expected the mandatory mission to be just for show. Simply clearing the first floor of the Heaven-Reaching Tower once was enough to complete it. This left Shen Fei, who had been all geared up for a challenge, feeling like he had thrown a punch into a ball of cotton.

Now, having rested and finished his contemplation, Shen Fei was ready to tackle another Secret Realm. This time, it would be a solo run, without anyone else.

The Secret Realm he planned to enter was certainly not the Heaven-Reaching Tower, which he had already run countless times with others. This time, he would enter his own exclusive, personal Secret Realm located in Hang City—the special solo Secret Realm he himself had activated: [Lin’an City].

Secret Realms, much like dungeons in a game, were a special kind of instance. Since Shen Fei owned the [Lin’an City] Secret Realm, he could set an entry fee. Therefore, with the urge to run another Secret Realm still fresh, the one he planned to enter was his own exclusive [Lin’an City].

WHOOSH~

With his next steps planned out and his mind set on the [Lin’an City] Secret Realm, Shen Fei didn’t waste a moment. He stood up, planning to go home and check in with his parents before using the [Secret Realm Teleportation Array] Zhao Li had given him to go directly to the [Lin’an City] Secret Realm.
