Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 1568: Chapter 1563: The Art of Honesty

But...

At that moment, Luo Bu finally understood why Sir Fu Qian wanted him to bring the sword back again.

The problem, however, was that compared to Demigod Fu, who could easily borrow the sword, Luo Bu had no interesting story to tell when returning it.

”Just tell the truth.”

However, facing his troubled expression, Fu Qian’s tone was gentle, yet he left no room for negotiation.

”Trust me, Director Li prefers honesty over reasonability.”

”Return the item to him, explain the situation clearly; it won’t cause trouble for Heaven’s Commencement Institute or you. It might even be beneficial for your next step, which is finding someone to appraise the sword.”

Being a leader doesn’t mean indulging and sheltering blindly; broadmindedness is crucial.

And conveying that broadmindedness forward.

Li Weixuan isn’t foolish, and treating people like fools is quite impolite.

Bidding for enlightenment by borrowing a sword is an unspoken understanding; even though he asked, he wouldn’t say anything without explanation.

But if a sincere explanation can be provided, there’s no doubt he will be even more pleased, especially if an interesting explanation is given.

”Alright... I really appreciate it.”

Finding no reason or stance to argue, Luo Bu hesitated slightly but accepted Demigod Fu’s suggestion and still sincerely thanked him.

”No need to dwell on it, what you’re doing is interesting, and that’s the most important thing. I’m sure that even Lord Kaldora himself will be pleased to see this.”

With these words of encouragement, Fu Qian stood up and left.

...

”In a hurry to come back for evening lessons? So early.”

Without paying attention to whether Veil gained anything at the Sword Pavilion, by the time Fu Qian returned to the lab, the sky was already slightly dim.

Surprisingly, the lab assistant Miss Liushuang had returned early and didn’t stay at the Academy, engrossed in her studies.

”...Actually, I finished organizing the report and wanted to confirm it with Professor Fu.”

Judging by how she looked, it seemed Ji Liushuang had digested some of her previous shocks over that half-day, and with a faint smile, she pointed to a stack of documents on the table.

”So quickly?”

Fu Qian did not hide his surprise.

Although the content isn’t overwhelming, it’s well known that completing a task on the day it’s assigned is not typical of a mature document worker.

And Miss Liushuang clearly has significant experience in this area, having even appeared at my earliest hearings.

”I’m alright; mainly after returning to the Academy, the earlier experiences lingered in my mind, so I just sorted them out first.”

With a gentle sigh, Ji Liushuang did not pretend to be calm but instead openly acknowledged the significant psychological impact of today’s experiences.

”I was also worried you might be rushing for time, seeing as submitting this report might lead to some follow-up troubles.”

”That’s true, indeed, well done.”

There’s no denying that having such a considerate assistant makes things much more convenient.

Fu Qian nodded, casually picking up the documents to skim through.

The report would definitely need to slightly conceal some content, like the fact that almost the entire test was conducted in a dream and that the White Head Holy Church was ultimately burned by the Fire of Madness, not scared away by Professor Fu’s righteous aura.

As a scholar uninterested in false fame, there’s no need to showcase non-crucial experimental methods.

But even so, it’s impossible for such subversive results not to cause a stir.

Moreover, apart from the Night Watchman who would be busy, even here at the Academy, especially the former project leader Professor Chang, might find it difficult to remain seated.

...

”Very good, but you needn’t be too modest; the Xinjian Prison you executed this time played a significant role after all.”

Fu Qian, known for his astonishing reading speed, finished browsing quickly and was very pleased with the assistant’s understanding nature.

Miss Liushuang’s quality of document work was undeniable; the content was remarkably appropriate.

However, as is well-known, no matter how perfect the draft, leaders’ review comments are indispensable.

After a brief consideration, Professor Fu offered some guidance, particularly on how excessively modest the individual concerned was.

”Emphasizing the Xinjian Prison as a crucial test method is also a good opportunity to showcase your achievements during your training at Heaven’s Commencement Institute.”

”Alright...”

Although typically modest in style, Miss Liushuang apparently had no intention of opposing this guidance.

Especially after the leader elevated the significance of the new ability of the Xinjian Prison to the level of faculty collaboration results.

”Who knows, there might even be additional recogniations.”

Seeing she wasn’t particularly enthusiastic, Fu Qian winked and added.

Huh?

Temporarily, Ji Liushuang couldn’t grasp specifically what the ”unexpected” referred to.

”Indeed, though it’s true the Academy over there makes amends through merit this time, observing the Night Watchman’s whole posture reveals their genuine misjudgment regarding that orb.”

Professor Fu chuckled.

”In terms of that object’s danger, their views were likely similar to Professor Chang’s original draft.”

”So, this time, we’ve effectively uncovered a huge hidden danger through our additional risk work and even acquired critical information like the White Head Holy Church.”

”Rewards will come to those who deserve them, and if any responsible parties are inclined to do so, they might decide to express some appreciation.”

”This...”

In terms of laboratory operations, Ji Liushuang somewhat lacks insight due to being a student.

Yet with Professor Fu’s guidance, she nodded slightly but was evidently not too confident.

”But in any case, this was a mess created by the Academy’s former professor, and the test methods this time were fairly strict—”

”Which is why it’s necessary to emphasize contributions not made by the professor.”

Fu Qian maintained his smile.

”Severe methods were the professor’s issue, blaming a student for not receiving deserved rewards because of it would seem a bit petty.”

”Moreover, to prevent unscrupulous project groups from taking cuts, if I were you, I’d choose a reward that suits you best while ensuring the honor remains with our laboratory.”

”To achieve a positive cycle in academic research, one can’t simply bury their head in research; operations are important too.”

”With just a little application technique, you can maximize the pursuit of honor and tangible rewards.”

Alright...

Amid Professor Fu’s optimistic explanations, Ji Liushuang found herself momentarily speechless.

But as a bright young individual, the moment she accepted this setup, she quickly realized that Professor Fu’s actions might lead to more than just material rewards, an unmentioned point.

Beyond her student status, she’s also the head of the Gospel Group.

As a slightly sensitive rescue-oriented project, the positive track record from similar events brings immeasurable value.
