Taking the Mafia to the Magic World

Chapter 1085: Initial Movement of the Dispute

Larissa, Rex, and Lyra shifted their positions while Vicente continued to keep an eye on the pentagram forming. It wasn’t time to move yet. The pentagram hadn’t formed yet and until it finished stabilizing, approaching it would be dangerous even for the strongest magicians.

The group paid attention to their surroundings, holding their position as they prepared to fight. But just like them, those who had arrived before or who would be arriving in the next few moments wouldn’t go near the magical essence in formation. Not only that, they wouldn’t face each other directly either; they would just look at each other suspiciously, identifying competitors.

Most of those who arrived in the moments after Vicente realized what was happening in the area were in groups, like his own. But a few individuals, as powerful as the butterfly Vicente thought had drawn him there, arrived not long after the pentagram turned cyan and indigo.

The magical essence continued to evolve, showing no signs of stopping at the indigo grade—which would already be impressive and valuable for almost any magical creature, even Vicente.

An indigo pentagram of natural origin would eventually advance to the violet grade-Vicente was sure of it.

Since this pentagram was of the light element, he was even more willing to absorb it, even if it didn’t reach the violet quality requested by the consciousness of the Throne of Darkness and Light.

But the essence continued to evolve, gradually leaving the traces of the indigo color aside to become a strong violet, surrounded by golden beams of light.

That area of the forest controlled by the local sovereign force shone brightly, with the sky itself turning golden, while the mana in the surroundings became so dense that it was as if the place had been transformed into a gigantic cultivation room for 9th stage magicians.

As the signs that the pentagram was stopping improving and stabilizing, finally taking on the exact shape of what it would look like to the one who mastered it, the last remaining competitors set foot in the area, attracting attention.

Vicente and his companions turned their eyes towards the group of 9-Star Grand Magus, dressed in symbols of the island’s sovereign family, each of them with a confident, arrogant look on their faces.

Vicente narrowed his eyes as he saw the change in mood of those who had arrived after him, seeing how much several of them regretted the presence of the group that had arrived last in the area.

”Generals...” Murmured one of the high-level Grand Magus standing nearby, but without moving.

Other powerful magical beings looked at each other, seeming to make silent agreements and alliances amid the arrival of the most important moment for everyone there.

”It seems we weren’t the only ones to notice the appearance of such a valuable essence...” said the leader of the men of the island’s sovereign family in this place, looking at many strange faces, but also some long-known ones. He got straight to the point. ”If you want to fight over the violet pentagram, we’ll entertain you. That pentagram belongs to the imperial family and we are here to take it to the capital city. Those who stand in our way will pay with their lives.”

With the words of the main Grand Magus of this group of local forces, each of the armed and similarly dressed Generals showed their weapons, along with their pentagrams.

Vicente narrowed his eyes, signaling with his fingers for his companions to follow a type of strategy they had already discussed during their years of traveling together.

Lyra, Rex, and Larissa began to move away from Vicente, not the first to show a more servile behavior towards the imperial forces there. Others moved slowly, indicating that they would not fight, and left the area.

But Vicente didn’t move, as did a group of seven other Grand Magus, with the exception of himself, all of them at the high level of the 8th stage.

The five representatives of the imperial family let those who wanted to leave move away, while turning their eyes to the stubborn ones who might become problems.

Then, at the moment when they were looking at each other, each thinking about how to behave, Vicente moved aggressively. Without showing his pentagrams, he manipulated space, making a small black hole appear and then passing through it.

Everyone sensed his movement, but by the time they could do anything, he was only a few centimeters away from the free violet magical essence in that area.

The members of the imperial family widened their eyes at the sight, while those there, to destroy the essence, felt shivers run down their spines.

”I’m sorry, guys, I’m the one destined to carry this essence,” Vicente said as he touched the pentagram, instantly making it disappear, while his other pentagrams came out of his body.

Three bolts of lightning cut through the sky with Vicente’s words, one blue, one gold and one black, hitting equally distant points around him, forming a triangle.

Then 15 pentagrams appeared around him, a few cyan, most indigo, but four striking violet essences taking shape around the defensive triangle.

In this situation, watched by 12 enemies and several observers not interested in joining the initial dispute, Vicente sat on a half-gold, half-black throne, closing his eyes as he turned his attention to his own interior.

Lyra, Larissa, and Rex felt goosebumps watching this scene of power unfold not far from them, seeing how their companion boldly began absorbing that essence, even surrounded by opponents from the peak of the 8th stage.

His enemies thought the same about him, not doubting that he was impressive, talented and daring. But unlike these Vice allies, the 12 who were willing to fight would not allow his wishes to come true easily!

Shifting their positions, the men of the imperial force and the competitors willing to fight focused their mana on offensive moves against Vicente.

Changing their positions, the men of the imperial force and the competitors willing to fight focused their mana on offensive moves against Vicente.

All the observers in that official forest area of the imperial family saw over 80 pentagrams of advanced qualities emerge from the bodies of the 12 individuals. Within seconds, their abilities began to take shape, with some giants of mana, strange symbols and supernatural powers taking shape, cutting through space against Vicente’s defensive triangle.
