Imperial Cultivation

Chapter 624: Chapter 620 Mental State

It’s not surprising when you think about it.

With such abundant spiritual energy, how could the practice of cultivation not flourish?

Looking at the pedestrians in the streets and alleys, their spirit is even more vigorous than the citizens of Yujing City.

With such abundant spiritual energy, just by practicing casually, one can achieve some results.

No need to suffer like in Little Outer Heaven where cultivation progresses slowly.

Another effect of abundant spiritual energy is that it strengthens the power of martial techniques.

In Little Outer Heaven, martial techniques are no match against realms, no matter how refined the swordsmanship or sword technique is, it cannot surpass the overwhelming power of realms.

But here, the power of martial techniques is strong enough to defeat enemies across realms.

The power of martial techniques has been greatly enhanced, according to Chu Liezhao’s memory, martial techniques can even break the limitations of realms.

Qi Transformation, Transforming Intent, Divinity Transformation, Spirit Transformation, four great realms, each with Nine Transitions.

If one masters swordsmanship or sword techniques well, a Qi Transformation Realm can even defeat an expert at the Transformation Realm.

This is unimaginable in Little Outer Heaven.

The Imperial Family’s secret Infinite Brightness Scripture also contains techniques, such as the Great Brightness Fist and the Great Bright Sword.

But the original owner didn’t practice them much.

Being a Prince, with guards following him, everything was taken care of by the guards, so there was no need to act personally.

If one can enter Great Bright Peak, one would have to compete with princes or princely heirs; failing to practice martial techniques would be shameful, and one must properly practice the fist or the sword.

But he couldn’t enter Great Bright Peak.

Thus, he barely used his skills anymore and didn’t practice the Great Brightness Fist.

With that time, it was better to watch plays, listen to music, drink floral wine, and have fun.

Chu Zhiyuan turned his head to look around, frowning: ”Where are the guards?”

He had already noticed that after he left the mansion, there were no guards following him.

You Lan only had two maids and two guards following.

He pretended not to notice, and now seeing that no guards followed along, it was unusual.

You Lan shook her head and said, ”Your Highness, all the guards in the mansion were expelled, and new guards have not yet arrived.”

”Because I kept it hidden?”

”...Yes.” You Lan nodded helplessly.

The Prince was gravely injured and near death.

Even if the Emperor was displeased with Chu Liezhao, he was still furious.

While saving him, they also investigated responsibility and expelled all the guards from the Prince Mansion.

The guards of the Prince Mansion are divided into two types: defenders and guards.

The defenders are responsible for the defense of the Prince Mansion, patrolling both openly and covertly.

The guards, on the other hand, accompany and protect the prince, ignoring the defense of the Prince Mansion and focusing solely on the Prince’s safety.

These guards are part of the Outer Court Guard of the Imperial Family, and being selected for the Prince Mansion means they are elite.

Now they are sent back to the Outer Court Guard, considered demoted as punishment.

Although most of the responsibility lies with Chu Liezhao, their responsibility is minor.

But with such an incident, they still must be punished, and they have no grounds for complaint.

They can only accept their bad luck.

”They were implicated by me, yet they might feel relieved, right?”

Chu Zhiyuan gave a faint sneer and continued walking forward.

You Lan gently shook her head.

This was indeed undeniable.

Being a guard for Your Highness is indeed challenging, with whimsical actions, impulsiveness, and capable of doing anything.

Your Highness never bullies others but likes to wander and join in on the excitement.

When hearing of any excitement, he insists on joining in.

Being a guard for Your Highness is indeed troublesome.

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”Does Father not want to give me guards anymore?”

”How could that be? They are selecting a new batch,” You Lan said. ”It will take a few days before they are chosen.”

Chu Zhiyuan said, ”Haven’t selected any because no one wants to come to our mansion, right?”

”Your Highness, you overthink.”

”It’s human nature, understandable,” Chu Zhiyuan sneered.

Chu Liezhao indeed isolated himself and ended up miserably, struggling with every step.

You Lan said, ”I will go and urge the Outer Court Guard.”

Chu Zhiyuan nodded, saying no more.

Under the Insight, he had little interest in his surroundings and just wanted to start cultivation as soon as possible.

This was his fundamental goal for reincarnating in this body, and it would be best if he could go to Great Bright Peak.

——

He stood in his courtyard under the noon sun, motionless.

Carefully contemplating the Great Brightness Fist.

The moves of the Great Brightness Fist were simple, and its power lay in the strength and speed of the punch.

And the strength and speed of the punch come from the alignment of the mental state.

When performing the Great Brightness Fist, movements must be precise, without the slightest deviation, and simultaneously, the mind must be free of distractions, holding only light and grandeur, even with the noble thought of purifying the world’s impurities.

In such a way, it can draw the unique power between heaven and earth upon oneself, transforming into fist power, making the punch vast, and speed like lightning.

As the inner and outer become one, the more precise and aligned the mental state and posture, the stronger the Great Brightness Fist becomes.

These two are not easy to achieve.

Once in battle, amidst tension, movements inevitably distort, with deviation leading to massive errors.

And the mental state is even more so.

When fighting others, whether out of hatred or grievance, how could one possibly hold bright thoughts in such circumstances?

Even in the most peaceful state, which is sparring, there is still the thought of winning or losing.

To engage with someone while harboring bright thoughts is almost impossible.

This demand on the mental state can be said to go against human nature.

Especially young people, full of energy and vigor, speak of swift justice, and when encountering an enemy, they take them out with a single sword strike or crush their skull with a punch.

To not retaliate against a grudge but to harbor bright thoughts? Absolutely impossible.

Previously, Chu Liezhao didn’t train in this fist, partly because he found it useless, and partly because he felt it was suffocating. Such a stifled fist technique does not warrant practice.

At this time, as he pondered this fist technique, he sensed its wondrous nature.

This is a state of being detached from the entanglements of the world, a perception overlooking and feeling compassion for the mundane enmities and grievances.

At this point, he shook his head.

The one most suited for the Great Brightness Fist should be the Divine Son of the Yongling Divine Sect.

Having gone through multiple reincarnations, with memories of several lifetimes, only then can one have such an indifferent and transcendent view of worldly enmities and grievances.

For a young person to practice this fist, it is almost impossible to master.

He himself is also suitable for practicing this fist.

By performing the Heavenly Transmigration Technique and reincarnating in this body, he had fused with this body’s emotions, bore its enmities and grievances, and inherited its karma.

But still holds a transcendent mindset and an overlooking perspective.

With such a mindset, it aligns with the mental state of the Great Brightness Fist.

Embracing brightness, unaffected by entanglements of grievances and emotional conflicts.

I embody brightness, illuminating the world, purifying all impurities, just as I did in Little Outer Heaven, destroying all Evil Sects.

At this thought, he lightly threw a punch.

”Boom!” It sounded like a thunderous explosion, as if the void ahead exploded.

The gale howled, the flowers in the flower bed swayed violently, displaying their colorful blooms.

Chu Zhiyuan amazedly felt.

While throwing the punch, a wisp of breath flew out from the Yin Yang Fish and burrowed into his fist.

In the void, a force descended outside the fist, drawn by the releasing fist power to form a faint fist seal.

The fist seal accelerated instantly, breaking through the air, creating turbulent airflow and rumbling sounds.

He turned and said, ”Xiao Zhu, throw a stone over here.”

The elegant young girl standing not far away quickly responded and turned to find a stone.

But the small courtyard was kept spotlessly clean, with no stones to be found.

She glanced left and right, turning her head around, her fair face turning red with urgency, still unable to find one.

Chu Zhiyuan snorted, ”Useless thing, alright, no need for you to look.”

He walked to the weapon rack nearby, tossed a long sword up into the air, and then punched.

”Ding...”

The long sword let out a crisp sound and then shattered into pieces that flew out, disappearing among the bamboo grove by the wall.

”Squeak...”

”Sizz!”

Some pieces shot into the soil or into the bamboo stalks.

A bamboo roughly the size of an arm slowly toppled towards him.

Chu Zhiyuan threw another punch.

”Bang!”

The entire Green Bamboo instantly shattered into powder.
