Chapter 317, Extremistis Country In Chaos

Translator: Silavin

Soon, a day had passed.

The Principal continued advancing towards the Divine Bone Forest, barely stopping at all.

Although the long journey aggravated her injuries, she still refused to stop and rest. After all, she knew best that the more time wasted, the greater the danger Lu Fan would be facing.

After a day of long-distance travel, she was still a thousand kilometres away from the Divine Bone Forest. If nothing went wrong, another day’s journey should get her there.

Just as the Principal was planning to continue towards the Divine Bone Forest, from her position, high in the sky, he saw an Extremistis Country town dozens of kilometres away that had fallen into chaos, with deaths and smoke rising everywhere.

The Principal was quite familiar with the map of Extremistis Country. So, she naturally knew this town was called Southwest Town.

Every country in the world was exploring and developing their closest Wilderness areas. Extremistis Country was no exception. Therefore, all nations’ territories were constantly expanding, incorporating newly explored areas into their national boundaries.

About ten years ago, Extremistis Country had explored up to here.

Further out in the Wilderness, the Monster Levels were high and the environment was quite harsh. Thus, development of the area had reached a stalemate.

At the same time, for some unknown reason, Monsters rarely set foot in this area around the town. Thus, it became an environment that was suitable for Human habitation.

Many Explorers temporarily settled here, using it as a supply point for the frontlines.

As this continued, the supply point grew larger, with more and more people specifically coming here to open shops, selling necessities for exploration. Naturally, due to the profits and business, some settled here to create the town it was today.

Thus, after ten years of development, Southwest Town grew larger and larger, garnering a population of 100,000, enough to become a small city.

It was for a good reason as well. Southwest Town’s geographical location was excellent. It was a safe area close to the Wilderness, which could be used to Level Up due to the High Level Monster there. Furthermore, there was a constant need for exploration, which constantly fueled commerce and trade.

So, besides Extremistis Country Commoners who had migrated here, most residents were powerful Players from Extremistis Country. Many of them were Monster Material Hunters and University students.

Even the government had set up a military camp here, stationing an army of 10,000 to protect Southwest Town’s peace and security.

Thus, right now, this town has been transformed into a strategic location for Extremistis Country.

The Principal knew she would pass by Southwest Town. In fact, according to her original plan, she would not approach and just move past.

However, when she saw how Southwest Town had clearly undergone massive changes, as if experiencing a siege, she could not help but frown at the sight of this, She still did not plan to stop. However, a huge figure suddenly appeared in Southwest Town which caught her attention.

It was the Sturdy Hell Demon.

The Sturdy Hell Demon must be under some kind of Buff. Its body had become enormously huge, as it constantly moved through Southwest Town, crashing through houses and buildings unopposed.

The Principal naturally recognized the Sturdy Hell Demon. She had previously heard from Zhao Shengming about Lu Fan’s various accomplishments and displays in the National Trial.

Naturally, the real Sturdy Hell Demon had already been killed by the Five National Guardians, and she knew Lu Fan had enslaved it and made it a Summon of his.

[For the Sturdy Hell Demon to appear here, could it be…] Her heart stirred, and she immediately flew towards Southwest Town.

When she got closer to Southwest Town, the Principal could see the tragic scene even more clearly.

The entire Southwest Town had completely fallen, with Monsters running rampant. These Monsters were once members of the Nine Hell Demons Army.

In the town, some Combat Specialised Players and Extremistis Country Guards stationed there had spontaneously organized to resist the Hell Demon invasion.

However, this was the Nine Hell Demons Army that had once nearly steamrolled through Extremistis Country’s four main cities. How could a frontier town like this possibly resist against them?

The Principal was already injured and certainly was not altruistic enough to waste her energy in saving them.

She had her own priorities. Thus, she just flew back into the air and moved around while observing the situation from afar.

Naturally, she was trying to find Lu Fan. However, not a single shadow of his could be found around town. All that was of note was the Nine Hell Demons Army’s constant rampage through the town.

Since Southwest Town was newly established, although small, it was quite modern.

When she flew into the middle of the town, she even spotted a huge mall with one wall made into a large screen currently broadcasting news.

“Currently, our country’s 13th Border Garrison has been confirmed to have been completely wiped out. According to eyewitnesses and video evidence, the attackers were the Nine Hell Demons Army from years ago. The attackers also include our country’s renowned National Guardian, Li Renying….”

The screen soon switched to show an elderly woman wielding a longbow, taking the lives of soldiers’ one arrow at a time, crushing the military camp together with countless Monsters from the Nine Hell Demons Army.

The scene cut off, returning to the news studio where a short-haired female anchor continued reporting related news.

“Currently, multiple Monster Tides have occurred in our country’s frontier regions. The current known casualties exceed ten thousand. Our country’s leadership has established a special strategic command centre for this matter and is dispatching powerful Players and troops to the frontier regions to suppress the situation. Our station will report on each specific battlefield as soon as more news comes in.”

“Meanwhile, since National Guardians have been confirmed to be amongst the attackers, their Family members have been detained for further investigation.”

Next came an interview segment.

Those passersby being interviewed were furious, claiming this was the worst tragedy their country had experienced in years.

Additionally, video evidence showed that Extremistis Country’s ruler, Jin Zaixi, was also among the attackers. Regarding this matter, did the Royal Family, the Jin Family, have nothing to say about this?

Currently, the country’s national power was still in the Jin Family’s hands. Thus, with their King conducting massacres, how could the populous stand for this. How could they still allow the Jin Family to hold power and trust that they would handle this?

Just as the Principal was watching this news in shock, the Sturdy Hell Demon had killed its way to her.

Its huge body coiled upward, directly wrapping around the massive mall. Then, with one mighty squeeze, the mall was crushed to pieces!

Though she could not see the following news interviews, she realised that the situation in Extremistis Country was completely different from what she had imagined it to be.

[The one in danger isn’t Lu Fan, but Extremistis Country!?]

During her brief state of daze, the Sturdy Hell Demon seemed to notice her presence.

Immediately, the Sturdy Hell Demon leaped up from the ruins of the mall, with its front two limbs crossing to kill the Principal on the spot.

The Principal snapped back to reality. Drawing out Heaven Incinerator, with one spin in midair, a huge fireball appeared at the spear’s tip. It fiercely fell towards the Sturdy Hell Demon’s head.

*Boom!* With a huge explosion, a mushroom cloud bloomed in the air.

The Sturdy Hell Demon fell from the sky, while the Principal used the recoiling force to retreat several hundred metres away.

“Lu Fan’s this little Summon of yours really has some skills…” She muttered to herself. However, it was clearly audible that her mood was now not as anxious as before. Rather, she was quite relieved and pleased.
