Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 215, The Overestimation of the Dragon Country Representative

Translator: Silavin

Musashi Ten’s words had a mocking tone to it. After all, Extremistis Country had often employed such schemes to help themselves win in various competitions. Thus, Extremistis Country’s reputation in competitions had always remained poor.

For this year’s National Trial, if Extremistis Country had not received support from Star Strip Country and other allied countries, they probably would not have had the chance to qualify for hosting the National Trial.

After securing the National Trial, Extremistis Country had to ‘live up to expectations’ and already formulated a series of plans beneficial for Jin Chenghan to achieve good results.

Allying with Cherry Blossom Country, teleporting Jin Chenghan and Musashi Ten to the same location, setting up the Nine Hell Demons as a ticking time bomb; all these were just the tip of the iceberg.

Jin Chenghan heard the underlying meaning in Musashi Ten’s words, was immediately disgruntled. He said in an unfriendly tone, “If you don’t know how to speak, just stay silent.”

“Hahaha, I didn’t mean to mock your Extremistis Country.” Musashi Ten casually lied, laughing, “By the way, where are we going?”

Jin Chenghan answered without turning his head. “To accept Missions. I know the locations of all the Mission Scrolls. I also know what Missions are in each scroll. Just follow me. In one day’s time, you and I will definitely secure first place on the leaderboard!”

Musashi Ten nodded happily. He looked up and around, suddenly seeing a golden light flickering in the distance, which was emitted by a Mission Scroll floating in the air.

“Jin-san, our luck is not bad. I see a scroll over there!” Musashi Ten was overjoyed and caught up to pat Jin Chenghan’s shoulder.

Jin Chenghan glanced at the scroll and continued walking forward, saying, “We can’t accept the Mission from that scroll. That’s a trap designed by my Extremistis Country. If you accept this Mission, you won’t be able to accept any other Mission afterward. Because, the Mission in this scroll is simply impossible for anyone to complete!”

“A trap? An impossible Mission? What exactly is the Mission in that scroll?”

“You don’t need to worry about that.”

Soon, five hours had passed since the official start of the National Trial Secret Realm.

Originally, all 23 country representatives had 0 points, and everyone was ranked 1.

As time passed, all the representatives began hunting Monsters and accepting Missions, so everyone’s points started to rapidly rise.

At this time, the one ranking first was Charles from Star Strip Country, who had already earned over 20,000 points.

Next was Andrei from Feather Country, with over 18,000 points.

Jin Chenghan from Extremistis Country had over 15,000 points.

Musashi Ten from Cherry Blossom Country had over 14,000 points.

Last was Lu Fan from Dragon Country, with only over 300 points.

The real-time points leaderboard could not be seen by the representatives participating in the trial, but the delegates in the observation room and the reporters outside the Arena could observe it and were naturally broadcasting it live to the whole world to watch.

At present, the leaderboard was quite similar to what various media had predicted earlier. Charles and Andrei, as participants who were ranked to be in the T0 Level, were in first and second place on the leaderboard.

The T1 Level Players, Jin Chenghan and Musashi Ten, followed closely behind, which also matched others’ expectations of them.

The only shocking thing was Lu Fan, the Dragon Country representative, was ranked last.

It was worth noting that in previous years’ National Trials, Dragon Country’s ranking had always been very good, often taking first place.

Even at the beginning, Dragon Country representatives basically always occupied the top three, with only Star Strip Country and Feather Country representatives able to compete with them. Therefore, in the National Trial, these three countries were jokingly referred to as the ‘Big Three’.

Now, Star Strip Country and Feather Country were still at the top, and Jin Chenghan, as the host country’s representative, had the home advantage. So, taking third place was reasonable. However, as the Dragon Country representative, shouldn’t Lu Fan at least secure a position in the top five?

The result this year was surprising since he was in last place!

Originally, many people questioned if Dragon Country’s representative, Lu Fan, was really that impressive. He was the only so-called Dragon Tamer in history with a Pure Blood Giant Dragon as a Pet. It sounded very powerful but he was only Level 34 after all. There was a massive gap compared to other representatives!

With his strength, did he really qualify to be listed as a T1 Level?

Perhaps this T1 rating was mostly due to the halo of him being ‘Dragon Country’s representative’ and having a ‘Pet Dragon’. Currently, many believe that he has been massively overestimated! Otherwise, how could this Dragon Tamer’s weakness be exposed as soon as the National Trial began?

Over 300 points could be earned by killing just a few Monsters. From the start of the National Trial until now, how many Monsters had he killed? What exactly was Lu Fan doing?

Could it be that after entering the Secret Realm, he found that the Monsters’ Levels were too high, so he’s been looking for Low Level Monsters to kill?

The thought of the dignified Dragon Country representative having to go out of his way to find Low Level Monsters to kill in the National Trial was simply ridiculous.

Some countries’ netizens, who could not stand Dragon Country always getting good results in the National Trial, naturally seized this opportunity and began to frantically mock Lu Fan on live streaming platforms. They would claim that Dragon Country’s performance this year would certainly be quite atrocious.

Some questioned how Dragon Country could not find any powerful youths instead, that they would send a Level 34 weakling to participate in the National Trial.

Let alone foreign netizens, even Dragon Country netizens who were following the leaderboard were anxious for Lu Fan. They were questioning what exactly their representative was doing! How was it that he had earned so few points over such a long period of time!?

At this time, Lu Fan, in the Secret Realm, naturally did not know that his pathetic ranking had already caused frenzied discussion in the outside world.

He was still leisurely riding Xiao Ye, patrolling in the air, looking to see if he could find any trace of the Dark Castle.

“Are they lying about the Dark Castles!? I’ve been searching for so long and haven’t even seen their shadow!?” Lu Fan was gradually losing patience.

In five hours, he had searched more than half of this Ice Plains area. Not to mention the Dark Castle, he had not even seen a brick!

Along the way, he had seen many Monsters, but they were all ordinary Monsters. Lu Fan could not be bothered to kill them. He only tried the feel of the Flaming Meteor Sword at the beginning, casually killing a few Gamelyon with one strike.

A Gamelyon was worth only a few dozen points.

Lu Fan had heard that in previous years, the first place in the National Trial had scores of hundreds of thousands or even millions of points. In comparison, these few dozen points really did not catch his eye.

To earn large amounts of points, he needed to kill Bosses and people.

Lu Fan had now realised that his luck was really bad. To find the Dark Castle that everyone else was avoiding, he might need to explore for a while longer.

Just as Lu Fan had prepared himself for a prolonged battle for searching, his eyes suddenly narrowed as he saw Skills flashing in the distance. Clearly, another country’s representative was engaged in a fierce battle with a Monster.

“Xiao Ye, let’s go take a look!” Lu Fan’s eyes lit up, planning to join in the excitement.
