Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 520: Blades Drawn, Trading Blood for Blood

”Furbollo, you really keep surprising me... Not only is your direct combat ability stronger than I imagined, but you actually have such a bizarre method that can make a living person vanish into thin air.”

The other party spoke coldly. Lin Yu swung his dual swords backward to cut through the sweet potato vines entangling him and laughed.

”Thanks for the praise... So, since your mission is bound to fail anyway, arenʼt you really considering talking it out?”

”Why must we two fight to the death? This assassination mission shouldnʼt be a mandatory completion condition for you to clear the stage, right? But for me, itʼs something I absolutely must do... You donʼt need to go all out against me, do you?”

Lin Yu said sincerely.

This was a very Fu Luo-style statement.

Moreover, Lin Yu indeed had no confidence in securing a stable victory against his opponent within the otherʼs [Fertile Soil]. Reducing some losses would also be beneficial for completing his subsequent tasks.

But this ”reasonable” proposal was rejected by the other party.

”Cut the nonsense. How can one not go all out after accepting a job?”

The other party drew the scythe again.
Lin Yu sighed and said, ”Even if you go all out, can you really complete it? You donʼt even know where that guy is!”

And the response to Lin Yu was a scythe slicing toward his face from between the crops.

”Simple. No matter what [items] you used to hide him... killing you, heʼll naturally appear!”

The other party said coldly, the scythe and bone blades clashing once more.

Although normally he could rely on [Fertile Soil] to slowly wear Lin Yu down, right now...

Clearly, there wasnʼt enough time!

He had to kill Lin Yu, find Barry, and complete this job before reinforcements arrived.

For him, time was already very tight!

”Clang—!”

The scythe was deflected, then immediately, rapidly changed direction and slashed at Lin Yu again.

”No way to negotiate peace...”

Seeing the otherʼs attacks become even more ferocious, Lin Yu also adjusted his strategy.

This time, he didnʼt parry or dodge, merely slightly lowering his shoulder to let the scythe avoid his vitals.

”Thwack!”

The scythe grazed Lin Yuʼs right shoulder. With various buffs and the fact that he had layered the [Intermediate Protective Suit] and [Asylum Patient Gown] since entering the dungeon, Lin Yuʼs injury wasnʼt severe.

But a hideous, flesh-torn wound still opened up on his shoulder.

And Lin Yuʼs choice to take the scythe hit head-on had a clear purpose.

”Swish!”

The bone blade likewise pierced the other partyʼs abdomen.

The mysterious player opposite grunted. The sorghum and wheat on both sides whipped Lin Yu, knocking him back several steps and separating the two.

”Trading injury for injury? Foolish!”

The mysterious player ignored the wound on his abdomen that was bleeding profusely. With a casual swing of his scythe, he cut through several plants, which instantly withered.

Simultaneously, those withered crops transformed into some kind of energy that converged into his body, causing the wound on his abdomen to heal rapidly—though not completely, it was significantly reduced.

But Lin Yu also laughed.

”I know you have recovery methods, but donʼt I have them too?”

The ”Bloodthirst” effect of the [Long Blade Tusk Bone Dual Swords] activated. The injury on Lin Yuʼs shoulder also received substantial healing.

”Then letʼs see whose recovery is stronger!”

The mysterious player said coldly, seemingly having discerned that Lin Yuʼs recovery effect wasnʼt as powerful as his own.

Moreover, at first glance, it seemed Lin Yuʼs injury just now was lighter than his. In their struggle, Lin Yu still held the initiative relying on superior physical prowess and weapon advantage.

But in reality, this was only the result considering the ”one-on-one” fight—if the secondary damage from those crops was added...

Continuously accumulating, Lin Yu would definitely be at a greater disadvantage.

Therefore, that mysterious player charged forward again to engage Lin Yu in close combat.

The scythe slashed the thigh muscle; the bone blade pierced through the center of the palm.

Separate, each recovers...

Then do it again!

When the fight entered the rhythm of ”trading injury for injury,” the scene naturally looked exceptionally bloody!

Injured, recover, injured again...

The originally dense [Fertile Soil] that kept sprouting crops now also seemed almost drained—just like the bald patches that appear on a [Corporate Drone]ʼs head from working too much overtime, gaps without crops began to appear on this soil.

Dried, drained crop roots and stems piled on the land, as if bringing one to a cool yet bountiful golden autumn.

Drenched in blood from head to toe, Lin Yu looked at his opponent and spoke with a loud laugh.

”Your crops seem almost exhausted—sure enough, this thing canʼt generate infinitely!”

The mysterious player, equally covered in hideous wounds all over his body, sneered coldly.

”You want to compare lifespans with my crop quantity, is that it?”

Clearly, his prediction was correct—accumulated to this point, Lin Yuʼs injuries were indeed more severe.

Lin Yu was also clear about this. That he could still stand was largely thanks to the [Asylum Patient Gown].

Although this thing was worn inside, unseen by others, so its effect of making people mistake him for a madman wouldnʼt activate.

However, just the significant reduction in pain was a huge help.

But...

Lin Yu didnʼt feel at all that he was now at a disadvantage.

In Lin Yuʼs hands, there were still many trump cards unused—and the reason he hadnʼt used them was simply because...

They werenʼt needed!

Lin Yu slowly exhaled and looked at his opponent.

”Idiot, after the crop density drops to this level, its attack frequency will decrease a lot. Continuously accumulating to this step will lead to a qualitative change...”

Hearing Lin Yuʼs words, the mysterious player was puzzled, only thinking Lin Yu was bluffing.

”What qualitative change? What else can you possibly do?”

Sorghum and wheat whipped toward Lin Yu again. The mysterious player pounced forward once more.

And this time...

”Swish!”

Lin Yu sidestepped, avoiding the otherʼs slash.

He was no longer trading injury for injury!

And after dodging, Lin Yuʼs chosen target was—the remaining crops.

The dual swords instantly severed the tops of seven or eight plants. Then, taking advantage of the gap when the other wasnʼt pursuing, Lin Yu grabbed those wheat ears, stuffed them into his mouth, and chewed.

He struggled to swallow these coarse grains that couldnʼt even be considered coarse food. Then he dodged to another spot, avoiding the pursuing mysterious player, quickly grabbed two corn cobs and a sweet potato, and took a few bites.

And after Lin Yu did this, the injuries on his body actually began to improve as well!

The gift from the [Banquet God] was still at work—the [Banquet Pendant] gave Lin Yu sufficiently good teeth and a sufficiently robust digestive system.

Moreover, eating would also grant healing and recovery effects!

Itʼs just that compared to the otherʼs ʼClassʼ ability and [items], Lin Yu had to actually consume the food.

”You bastard!”

The other party roared angrily, simultaneously directing more plants to restrict Lin Yuʼs movements while continuing the pursuit.

However, all this was futile—he couldnʼt even catch a single corner of Lin Yuʼs clothing!
