Death Game: Starting as a Trickster, Pretending to Be a God

Chapter 478: Settlement Complete, Frontline Combat Power Boosted

Based on your performance in this game, you have received the evaluation ”Far-Famed Reputation” and obtained an additional reward.

Additional Reward: Randomly obtain two ”non-exclusive item” rewards.

Based on your performance in this game, you have received the evaluation ”Unstoppable Vanguard” and obtained an additional reward.

Additional Reward: Randomly obtain two ”non-exclusive item” rewards.

Lin Yu looked at the evaluations in the Settlement Space, feeling a sense of novelty.

”Huh, new titles have been unlocked again!”

Although Lin Yu didnʼt have any particular collecting obsession, seeing evaluations he hadnʼt encountered before was quite refreshing.

It gave him a unique sense of accomplishment.

This time, he didnʼt get his most frequently earned ”Threading the Needle” and ”Master of Control,” which Lin Yu found quite reasonable.

He couldnʼt even figure out where in this dungeon he could have ”threaded the needle”...
Lin Yu strongly suspected that, if not all, then at least ninety-nine percent of the dungeons in the Black Marsh world probably didnʼt have the possibility of unlocking ”Threading the Needle.”

As for ”Master of Control”...

Lin Yu truly felt he hadnʼt achieved that either.

Although he had Twenty figured out and arranged, Lin Yu indeed hadnʼt managed to control the entire situation of the ”Glory Festival.”

However, the ”Far-Famed Reputation” he received was completely justified.

Even though he operated under the Rakshasa identity ”Moro,” the massive commotion he caused was indeed ”far-famed.”

As for ”Unstoppable Vanguard,” that was also easy to understand.

It probably rewarded players who fought bravely and demonstrated high-intensity, direct combat prowess.

Lin Yu carefully considered it. After going through so many dungeons, this was probably the one where the proportion of ”direct combat” was the highest.

After all, the Blood Kingdom had its own unique circumstances; it was difficult to avoid fighting in that place.

Perhaps because of this, the rewards given also had a distinct Black Marsh world flavor.

First were the two item rewards from ”Far-Famed Reputation.”

Item: Long Blade Tusk Bone Dual Swords, bound.

Item: Blood-Tempered Flexible Iron Longbow, bound.

Perhaps because Lin Yu made his reputation far too resounding during this Glory Festival, he actually obtained two weapon-type items in one go.

And...

the quality of these two weapon items was quite good.

Long Blade Tusk Bone Dual Swords: Dual swords crafted from the fossilized teeth of an ancient behemoth. After using the dual swords to damage enemies and absorb their life force, gain a ”Bloodthirst” buff lasting five seconds. If the ”Bloodthirst” buff duration exceeds three minutes, you can choose to gain either the ”Pursuit” or ”Frenzy” buff effect. Bloodthirst: Deal increased damage to the source of the ”life force,” while converting the absorbed life force into healing and recovery effects to nourish the wielder. Pursuit: Consume all plundered life force to gain precise positional awareness of the source of the ”life force.” Frenzy: Absorbed life force no longer generates recovery and healing, but is instead used to enhance strength and speed.

Blood-Tempered Flexible Iron Longbow: A traditional hunting bow made of flexible iron, compatible with various types of arrows. Can actively consume ”life force” to apply one of four effects to fired arrows: ”Piercing,” ”Poisoning,” ”Burning,” or ”Explosive.”

Both weapons were very useful. Just looking at their effects, either could serve as a regular primary combat weapon among high-level players.

”Even if I sold them, theyʼd probably fetch a pretty good price... but forget it.”

After some thought, Lin Yu decided to keep them for his own use.

Although he currently had usable weapons, Lin Yu would never complain about having too many items.

His different identities definitely needed different primary combat weapons to properly distinguish and separate them.

Of course, the next dungeon was his solo dungeon, so Lin Yu could naturally use them freely.

Then Lin Yu looked at the item rewards from ”Unstoppable Vanguard.”

These two were also greatly beneficial for direct combat.

Item: Barbarian Guardian Gauntlets, bound.

Item: Spirit Blood Mixture, bound.

Barbarian Guardian Gauntlets: Standard-issue gauntlets forged by Barbarian tribes. Can effectively resist various types of attacks from sharp and blunt weapons, and can actively attract attacks to land on the protected area of the gauntlets. Simultaneously, when performing actions like chopping or swinging, can effectively enhance wrist strength.

Spirit Blood Mixture: After consumption, can quickly restore units suffering from negative mental states such as confusion or unconsciousness to rationality. Can to some extent eliminate negative emotions, uplift mood, and help the consumer develop a positive state of mind. After the mixture is depleted, it can be replenished by pouring in fresh blood from a living creature.

After reading the descriptions of all the items, Lin Yu was still quite satisfied.

As expected, things produced in the Black Marsh world were relatively simple and straightforward, ready to use as soon as you picked them up.

Although their upper limit might not be very high, their lower limit was truly guaranteed—things that directly enhanced ”combat power” were definitely useful no matter what.

The only regret was...

”They came too late!”

If they had come earlier, during his fight with Twenty in this dungeon, things might have been even easier.

Lin Yu sighed with emotion.

Afterwards, the Settlement Space was also about to run out of time.

In the end, only eight people passed this dungeon, which was a very low clearance rate.

Earlier, because of Twenty, four ”Players” were killed by him and made into ”Puppets.”

And in the latter half...

Lin Yu, who had been spectating the whole time, clearly knew that although the heavy casualties in the first half were due to Twenty, he bore some responsibility for the three players who died after being filtered through five days.

Because the ”combat performance” rule was temporarily added, the intensity and frequency of combat between participants increased!

Originally, people in the Black Marsh world liked picking fights, but now the local residents were even more battle-hungry.

Plus, the originally sunny, dry woodland venue became damp due to the heavy rain Lin Yu created, and visibility dropped significantly.

This also caused the beasts that normally wouldnʼt actively attack humans to start taking the initiative under these conditions...

Back and forth, not only did Player mortality rise, but even contestant mortality increased.

In a sense, although Lin Yu didnʼt get ”Master of Control” this time, he still influenced the entire situation!

However...

Lin Yu looked around the Settlement Space and found that Fern was still alive.

This didnʼt surprise Lin Yu.

Any one of the three of them, taken alone, had a relatively high skill level.

Although Moss hadnʼt displayed her strength, Lin Yu speculated that Moss probably also had a Second Tier Class.

These three Second Tiers together definitely produced a result greater than 1+1+1.

Fern also looked around—by now, Lin Yu had already removed the disguise of the False Face, appearing with the face of ʼMay May.ʼ

But Fernʼs gaze still landed on Lin Yuʼs face, and the two made eye contact.

Then they both simultaneously looked away.

”After returning to reality, I need to find some time to look for this person.”

Lin Yu thought.

Because no matter what Fern thought, at least the primary personality ”Moss”... would probably come looking for him.
