The Quest for Immortality

”The formation on the island is a special kind of Eight Trigrams Eight Gates Formation.”

”This formation follows the post-heaven Bagua positions, with Li on the top, Kan on the bottom, Zhen on the left, Dui on the right, Xun and Kun as shoulders, Gen and Qian as feet. Each trigram corresponds to a position, and each position is set with a corresponding Eight Trigrams Array, while also establishing a gate.”

”With this formation, a barrier is constructed, which combines defense, trapping, and escape functions.”

”If the enemy cannot penetrate, this set of formations is used for defense.”

”If the enemy breaks the formation and invades, then the formation is mobilized, the positions are confused, the trigrams flow, and they will use the formation’s layout to trap the enemy.”

”Even if ultimately unable to trap the enemy, it can provide an escape.”

”This set of formations leaves eight gates. With the eight gates rotating and the Life-gate constantly changing, in other words, it equates to having eight Life-gates, enough for them to escape amidst chaos.”

”Therefore, to break this formation, there are three key points: First, find a way to invade, second, avoid being trapped, third, block the Life-gate to prevent anyone from escaping...”

Mo Hua spoke clearly and in detail.

Xia Canonical Official looked at Mo Hua with some distraction.

She also understood some formations, and compared to Gu Changhuai, she was actually quite stronger.

She could draw most common Second Grade Middle Stage Arrays.

She could also draw a few high-level Second Grade ones, but not many, and her pen technique would be somewhat rusty.

But upon hearing Mo Hua’s words, she suddenly felt that her learning of second-grade arrays seemed wasted...

Understanding such formations requires practicing second-grade arrays to a high level of proficiency, especially an in-depth study of the Eight Trigrams Formation theory.

Otherwise, not to mention deducing the rotation of the Life-gate, even recognizing which Eight Trigrams Arrays are present would take considerable effort.

Only then did Xia Canonical Official believe that Mo Hua was not lying.

But at the same time, she was somewhat incredulous.

When did the formation level of the Sect Disciples at the Qian Learning State Boundary reach this height?

This level, even in Taoist State, could be considered a rare Array Dao Genius.

Even within the venerable and well-established Xia family, disciples who reached this level of formation understanding at this age were few and far between.

Xia Canonical Official was dazed for a moment, and then sighed.

She turned back, looked solemnly at Mo Hua, and nodded, saying:

”Alright, the formation matter is entrusted to you, but as for ordering customized spiritual tools, there are only three days, will you be on time?”

Mo Hua replied, ”The time is a bit tight, but I should manage.”

Xia Canonical Official nodded, ”I will mobilize personnel, if you have no issues, we will act in three days.”

”Okay!” Mo Hua nodded.

...

Later on, Mo Hua discussed some formation details with Xia Canonical Official, then returned to the Sect.

After returning to the Sect, the first thing he did was to request leave from Elder Master Xun.

Elder Master Xun seemed to know something, didn’t inquire much, only instructed Mo Hua: ”Stay safe, don’t take risks.”

”Understood, Master.”

Mo Hua answered.

This time, he was just following the Taoist Court, not needing to take risks himself.

After taking leave, Mo Hua made a trip to Solitary Mountain City to find Master Gu.

”There’s a big order requiring the refinement of some iron chains, Water Net, traps, and the like of Spiritual Artifacts, as much as possible within two days.”

Mo Hua had already informed Master Gu beforehand, so Master Gu wasn’t surprised, only asked: ”Very urgent?”

”Extremely urgent.”

”Alright.”

Master Gu nodded and immediately gave orders, ”Everyone in the refinery shop, stop what you are working on, follow the young master’s instructions, work day and night to rush this batch of spiritual tools and formation materials.”

”For these two days, the fire should not go out, nor should the furnace be unattended.”

A group of tall artifact refining disciples responded in unison:

”Yes!”

Mo Hua had been a great help to their refinery shop.

If it weren’t for the refining routes Mo Hua brought them, they would still be struggling like before, unable to get any work, barely affording meals.

Now, they were busy every day, their hands were more financially secure, they could occasionally enjoy a good meal, all thanks to Mo Hua.

So, upon hearing Mo Hua’s request for help, everyone worked hard.

Moreover, it was also a big business deal, completing it would earn a lot of Spirit Stones.

In the refinery shop, things were bustling with activity.

Everyone rushed the schedule, worked diligently, and within two days, a total of over one hundred and fifty sets of formation materials and spiritual tools were refined.

Mo Hua painted formations on them overnight.

Because these formation materials and spiritual tools varied in size, the formation carved on them differed in shape and grade, so technically, not all one hundred plus needed to be drawn.

Yet even so, it was not less than eighty or ninety.

Mo Hua painted continuously for an entire day and night, until his head spun, his Divine Sense nearing exhaustion several times, and his Sea of Consciousness faintly aching.

Fortunately, he completed it in the end.

After refining the formations, Mo Hua checked them again to ensure no mistakes, then informed Xia Canonical Official.

Xia Canonical Official also inspected them upon arrival at the refinery shop, finding the formation materials exquisite, the formations precise, each stroke perfectly uniform as if engraved with a mold, leaving her in awe.

However, she was somewhat puzzled:

”It’s normal for Spiritual Artifacts to be identical when refined with a mold, but how can these formations, stroke by stroke, all be the same?”

Because it’s drawn by the same person...

Mo Hua thought silently.

But on the surface, he said, ”Perhaps it’s because all the Formation Masters painting these were taught by the same master...”

”I see...”
