Pampered Poisonous Royal Wife

Chapter 178

This Cup of Tea is Not Poisonous

A hint of admiration flashed across County Magistrate Zhao’s eyes . “Alright, invite the doctor over immediately!”

Very soon, the doctor of Ren Shan Tang, Zhang Chun, rushed over with the medicine box . “Zhang Chun, the doctor of Ren Shan Tang, greets Lord Zhao . ”

“I’ll have to trouble doctor Zhang to take a look at the teacups on the table . ”

Tan Bawang suddenly said, “Wait! Lord Zhao, this doctor Zhang is from Jingling City, who knows if he was bought out by Mu Yunyao and helped her in private?”

“Then what do you suggest?”

Tan Bawang thought for a moment and then said: “In order to show fairness, ten cups of tea will put on the table, along with the one that my attendant had drunk . In this way, doctor Zhang will verify one by one . If he says that it is harmless, then let him drink that cup of tea . If he dares, he will prove that he has no partiality and speaks the truth!”

County Magistrate Zhao frowned, “This won’t do . How can we use human lives as a joke?”

“Lord Zhao, do you also think that doctor Zhang would help Mu Yunyao?”
“I didn’t say that . ”

“If that’s the case, then why can’t my method work? As long as Dr . Zhang is impartial and honest, there won’t be any problems . It’s just drinking a few cups of herbal tea . When the case is over, I’ll offer Dr . Zhang 10,000 taels of silver to suppress his shock!”

Tan Bawang was proud of himself . Although he did not know what was going on with that attendant, he was one hundred percent sure that the tea indeed drugged . As long as it proved that there was poison in the tea, he would insist that it was Mu Yunyao who ordered Ming Yin to do it!

Noticing that County Magistrate Zhao’s expression was awkward, Zhang Chun took the initiative to speak, “I do not have any selfish thoughts . Since I was so fortunate as to be called over to help inspect the tea, I will naturally speak the truth . I am not guilty, so I am not afraid to use the method that Young Master Tan said . Please send someone to prepare them, Lord Zhao . ”

County Magistrate Zhao could only nod his head, “Alright, I’ll have to trouble doctor Zhang . ”

Very quickly, ten small white porcelain teacups filled with tea brought up . The color of the tea inside was the same, even the temperature was the same, and there was no difference .

The official then placed the tray in front of Zhang Chun . “Please examine it, doctor Zhang . ”

Tan Bawang’s eyes revealed excitement as he stared at Zhang Chun . Just a moment later, he would be able to let Mu Yunyao have a taste of the pain he had endured . Just thinking about it caused him to feel incomparably excited .

Zhang Chun took the first porcelain cup and examined it with a silver needle . He then carefully smelled it and confirmed, “This cup is not poisonous!” After he finished speaking, he raised his head and gulped down the cup of tea .

Immediately afterward, he started examining the second cup . “This one has no poison!” He raised his head and drank again . Tan Bawang squinted his eyes and turned his head to look at Mu Yunyao . His heart filled with malice as he guessed: This little bitch looks calm on the surface, but in reality, her heart is already burning with worry, right? Haha, even if I can’t put her to death this time, I’ll make sure that she still will lose her reputation . Then, he could secretly make a move . It would be best if he could kidnap her to his residence and then torture her by all means!

When he came back to his senses, Zhang Chun had already started inspecting the sixth teacup . “This one is also not poisonous . ”

There were also four small white porcelain cups on the tray, and everyone’s heart could not help but rise .

Zhang Chun was looking carefully at the seventh teacup . After checking it twice with a silver needle and distinguishing the taste, he looked more and more serious .

Tan Bawang couldn’t help but smile, thinking that this one would be the poisonous one!!

Zhang Chun shook his head and sighed, “This cup of tea is not poisonous!”

“What? You said that this is also not poisonous?” Tan Bawang could not help but become flustered, “Doctor Zhang, you have to think this through . As long as you say that it’s not poisonous, you have to drink it yourself . If you were accidentally saying something wrong, your life would also suffer!”

Zhang Chun frowned and looked at Tan Bawang unhappily, “I am a doctor . I treat patients and save people on weekdays . I have never tried to hurt anyone, so I am serious and responsible for everything I say . If I said this teacup has no poison, then the cup of tea really has no poison in it!”

“Alright, since that’s the case, you can drink it!” From his expression just now, it was clear that there was something wrong with the tea . Yet, he determines that it is not poisonous . He wants to see if the other party would dare to drink the tea!

Zhang Chun sighed again, raised his teacup, and drained it in one gulp .

The hearts of the surrounding people felt like in their throats, but after looking for a while, Zhang Chun’s face was flushed red . He was absolutely fine .

This time, Zhang Chun directly checked the three remaining teacups . He turned around and said to County Magistrate Zhao, “Lord Zhao, the remaining three cups of tea are not poisonous!” After which, without waiting for the crowd’s response, he turned around and picked up the teacups to take a sip .

Looking at the ten small white porcelain cups that fell out of the tray, Tan Bawang’s eyes almost popped out of their sockets, “This … How is that possible?” How can there be no poison? It was absolutely impossible! Could someone else have done something to it? As he thought of this, he couldn’t help but cast his gaze at County Magistrate Zhao .

County Magistrate Zhao gave a cold laugh, “Tan Bawang, looking at your expression, it seems that you suspect that I have tampered with the matter and replaced the cup of tea your attendant was drinking . ”

“I was just wondering, why is there no poison in the tea?” Tan Bawang racked his brains . He had obviously tested the poison with the dog in advance . As long as the dog touched the poison, it would immediately die . Afterward, he personally sprinkled the poison powder into the tea and gave it to the guard . Why can’t it be found now?

Mu Yunyao suddenly spoke, “I also think it’s so strange . Why do you insist that the tea is poisonous? You speak with such certainty . Could it be said that you have poisoned it yourself?”

“I did not! Don’t you slander people!” Tan Bawang almost jumped up .

“I’m just saying . Why are you so nervous? If you didn’t do something shameful, don’t be afraid of ghosts knocking at the door . I see that there is much tea in the small pot of white porcelain . I think that your attendant previously drank just a bit of tea . If we ask for Lord Zhao’s help again, we won’t need too much this time . We will only prepare six cups of tea, and each of us will have three teacups . How about drinking it for ourselves?”

Tan Bawang quickly refused, “What’s there to try?”

“Since you did not poison the tea, and I did not poison the tea either, then the tea water must be clean . We asked Lord Zhao to mix the tea that your attendant drank into it . Even if someone had the misfortune to drink it, it should be fine . Why don’t you dare?”

“I… Why would I not dare?”

“Since there’s nothing to be afraid of, then you’ll agree . ” Mu Yunyao turned around and bowed to County Magistrate Zhao, “I’ll have to trouble Lord Zhao to prepare once again . ”

A layer of cold sweat broke out on Tan Bawang’s forehead, and his face was slightly pale . County Magistrate Zhao squinted his eyes slightly . Seeing this scene, he already had a few words in his heart: “I saw doctor Zhang inspect the tea and confirmed that tea is not poisonous . I didn’t need the two of you to try it again . But since you agree to prove your innocence with it . I won’t stop you . Men, prepare another six cups of tea . ”
