Pampered Poisonous Royal Wife

Chapter 167

Ice Lantern

Su Qing couldnʼt help but sigh, ”It wouldnʼt be easy to worship this new year . ”

”Yes, Mother, Iʼm starving . Hurry up and get me something to eat . ”

Su Qing quickly patted her hand: ”bah, bah, childish words, the wind blows away . Donʼt talk nonsense about the New Year . ”

Mu Yunyao giggled as she leaned against Su Qingʼs shoulder and said, ”Mother, Iʼm so hungry that I canʼt walk anymore . ”

”Quickly go back to your room and sit down . Mother will bring you something nice to eat right now . ”

The night was as lively as ever, but it was not suitable for Yue Wang and Steward Qin to stay in the Su residence . At this moment, Jin Xiu Garden was silent . Yue Wang stood at the door listening to the noise coming from next door and looked at the fireworks blooming in the sky . He felt faint loneliness in his heart for no reason .

Steward Qin took the cloak and said, ”Wang Ye, the weather is cold, so you should pay extra attention to it . ”

”Compared to Western Guangdong, this place is really mild . ” Even though he said this, Yue Wang still put on his cloak to prevent Steward Qin from worrying .

Steward Qinʼs eyes were full of smiles: ”Yesterday, during the New Year celebration in the Su residence, it was really lively and bustling . It was the first time this old servant has felt so comfortable . ”

Yue Wangʼs eyes softened for a moment . He had trained in martial arts for many years, and his hearing was much better than an average personʼs . His study was not far from the neighboring area . At this moment, he could clearly hear Mu Yunyaoʼs movements . It seems that she is making ice lanterns noisily .

Steward Qin vaguely heard this voice and couldnʼt help but suggest with a smile, ”In the past, when we were in Western Guangdong, I saw Yu Heng and Yu Yi carving ice lanterns . How about we get them to carve two ice lanterns later and send them to Miss Mu?”

Yue Wangʼs eyes moved slightly: ”Whatʼs so good about the ice lantern?”

”Girls always like those beautiful and delicate things . Miss Mu is no exception . In the past half a year, Miss Mu has helped us a lot . It is okay to make some small things and make her happy . ”

”No need . ”

Steward Qin felt a little pity as he said: ”Then we will listen to Wang Ye and not trouble ourselves with that matter . I donʼt know if Miss Mu has any capable people who can make ice lanterns that suits her . ”

”Uncle Qin, itʼs getting late . You should go back and rest . ”

”Alright, the weather is cold . Wang Ye should go in as soon as possible . ”

Yue Wang nodded his head and waited for Steward Qin to leave before his gaze involuntarily landed on the courtyard next door . At this moment, fireworks were blooming in the next door, and it was unknown if the ice lanterns were ready . Mu Yunyao also became excited in the spur of the moment . She recalled the ice lanterns she had seen at Capital Lantern Festival in her previous life . Some skilled craftsmen carve ice into various shapes . She had seen the hugest ice lantern in the form of a lotus flower . The petals were stacked one by one, which is about two people tall . Each layer of petals is as thin as a butterfly wing, which had clearly seen .

The candle flame that lit in the middle was really amazing .

The ice itself was very fragile . When you carve it with a little force, it will break into a piece . Finally, we can only make a simple few ice bowls . After lighting a few candles, it looked so beautiful .

The liveliness lasted for a long time, and Mu Yunyao couldnʼt help but get tired and sleepy . Everyone knew that she had gone to many places to visit during the day to celebrate the New Year, so they all advised her to go back and rest .

Returning to her room, Mu Yunyao laid on her bed . Listening to the sounds of firecrackers coming from outside, she actually couldnʼt fall asleep again . After finally feeling muddled for a while, she heard a sound from her window . She opened her eyes in surprise and looked at the window .

A black figure reflected on the window paper, whining and groaning . No one knew what it was doing .

Mu Yunyaoʼs heart tightened . She took out the dagger that Yue Wang had given her from under the pillow and quietly got off the bed . She fiercely opened the window and stabbed at the figure outside .

Her wrist suddenly grabbed by someone, and the cold yet powerful touch made Mu Yunyaoʼs scalp tingle . As she was feeling flustered in her heart, a familiar voice rang out:

”Are you trying to kill me?”

Yue Wangʼs voice?

The window was fully pushed open, and Mu Yunyao finally saw the person outside clearly . He wore a silver cloak, his face was dashing and handsome, without a doubt . The white snow behind him made him seem like an unreal person .

Mu Yunyao let out a heavy sigh of relief . At that moment, she thought she had encountered the scene of an assassination by the Su family from the previous life . She immediately broke out in a cold sweat, ”Fourth Master, you suddenly came to me this night . Is there’ʼ something wrong?”

When Yue Wang saw her appearance clearly, he frowned in disapproval .

She was wearing a snow-white coat with her hair loose . It was unknown if it was because it was cold or not, but her lips were slightly pale, making her look so pitiful .

”Put your clothes on first . ” As the nervousness in her heart faded, Mu Yunyao felt cold sweat dripping down in her back . She quickly closed the window and put on her clothes before opening the door: ”Fourth Master, if thereʼs anything you need to talk about, come in and talk . ” Last time, Yue Wang had barged into her room at night . This time there was no need to pay attention to it . Yue Wang moved his feet, still standing before the window, and did not enter the door . After a moment, he bent down and picked up an ice lantern from the ground . The ice lantern was carved in an exquisite manner, about a foot wide, with the shape of a candle in the center . The candle is surrounded by a cute cat, slightly bent eyes, a small mouth up, with a trace of cunning arc, making her look exceptionally agile and adorable .

Mu Yunyao was stunned for a moment, and then she couldnʼt help but smile . ”What an exquisite ice lantern . Itʼs already so late, are there still people selling ice lanterns on the streets?”

Yue Wang frowned: ”I did it . ”

”You did it?” Mu Yunyao was astonished . Only when she observed carefully did she realize that the cat on the ice lantern looked very similar to the cat that Yue Wang had pinched with the dough . With a single glance, she could tell that it was from the same personʼs work . She canʼt help but sink in her heart . ”I didnʼt expect that Fourth Master could make an ice lantern . ”

”When I was young, there was nothing to play with, so I was taught by Eunuch Cheng to carve all kinds of small toys . I could play with a piece of wood for a few days . ”

As Yue Wang spoke, it was as if he was reminiscing about the past . Occasionally, a haze flashed across his eyes and a flash of nostalgia . There was an indescribable complexity in his eyes .

Mu Yunyaoʼs fingers slightly tightened as she felt a sharp pain on her palm, but the smile on her face was impeccable . ”Many thanks to Fourth Master for sending me the ice lantern . If thereʼs nothing else, I should rest . ”

Yue Wang looked at her, his eyes cold and focused, as if he could control a personʼs soul . ”Donʼt you like ice lanterns?” Mu Yunyaoʼs heart trembled, but the smile on her face faded slightly . ”Previously, when I was bored, I was talking and joking with Jin Lan and the others . This ice lantern looks crystal clear and beautiful, but in reality, itʼs very fragile . A little temperature change outside can make it lose its original face . Appreciate it for a while, if you really like it, it will be easy to be sad . ” Yue Wang looked at the smile on Mu Yunyaoʼs face and actually felt exceptionally uncomfortable for a moment . ”Since you donʼt like it, then just throw it away . ” As he spoke, he threw the lamp on the windowsill at the bottom of the stairs . The smile on Mu Yunyaoʼs face did not change as she bowed to Ye Wang and said, ”Itʼs getting late, Fourth Master should go back and have a rest earlier . ”
