Urban Powerhouse: Chaos Supreme

After meeting with Minister Shangguan of the Emperor Group and the Dragon Emperor of the Sky Group, Lin Mo gave some Martial Arts guidance to the Mystic King and the others. Of course, he didn’t chat much with Luo Yu, since he now had Xia Mengdie and didn’t want to become overly involved with other girls.

Seeing Lin Mo leave, Luo Yu stood in the courtyard of the ancient house, her face marked by an unmistakable expression of sighing and lamenting.

”Silly child, with Lin Mo’s achievements today, he is pursuing higher things and will not be like other men who covet feminine beauty. Don’t feel injured; his future accomplishments are definitely beyond what you and I can ever reach! Even if faced with a stunning woman, I fear he wouldn’t give her a second glance,” Minister Shangguan stood by her side, consoling her.

At this time, Lin Mo had returned to the Yang Family residence. On the way, he pondered Minister Shangguan’s words. It wasn’t that some assassin organization was out to get him, but rather some secret organizations were gradually emerging. What did this mean? Was it all because of the Flood Dragon in the bamboo flute?

Lin Mo had already asked Minister Shangguan to help him investigate some issues relating to the images on the bamboo flute. With the information of the Emperor Group, it should be much stronger than that of the Dragon Team, and it was probable that they might have some data on this.

Back at the villa, a nanny was busy watering the plants. Upon seeing Lin Mo return, she greeted him, ”Mr. Lin, you’re back.”

”Mm, where’s Die’er?” Lin Mo asked.

”Miss Meng Die is at home waiting for you,” Mrs. Wang said, her face beaming with a smile.

Lin Mo nodded his head and walked into the living room. Sure enough, he saw Xia Mengdie lounging on the sofa barefoot, wearing a set of casual home clothes and watching TV. Yingzi was also sitting next to her, hugging a cushion.

”Master, you’re back,” Yingzi said upon seeing Lin Mo return, a happy smile spreading across her little face.

”Mm,” Lin Mo nodded and sat down on the sofa as well.

”Um, master, you and your wife talk first; I am going back to my room to take a nap.”

Pretending to yawn, Yingzi didn’t want to stay and be a third wheel, so she simply slipped her feet into her slippers and ran upstairs.

Lin Mo sat beside Xia Mengdie and embraced her.

”Did you have business with the Dragon Emperor?” Xia Mengdie asked, her eyes bright as stars as she looked at him.

”Nothing much, just that I had never met the leaders of the Sky Group before, so it was a visit,” Lin Mo said with a light chuckle, not wanting Xia Mengdie to worry.

Xia Mengdie made a sound of acknowledgment before suddenly speaking, ”Oh right, my grandfather called me yesterday and asked me to visit the north when I had time.”

”Visit the north?” Lin Mo asked.

Xia Mengdie nodded and smiled, ”My dad and my grandfather don’t get along, my dad has been too disappointing. Grandfather has always had a disdain for him. That’s why even when my mom and dad got married, no one from my grandfather’s side came, they only sent a junior to bring a gift.”

”What are your thoughts?” Lin Mo asked, looking at Xia Mengdie.

”It would obviously be best if the two families could reconcile,” Xia Mengdie said, lying in Lin Mo’s arms like a gentle kitten.

”Alright, I’ll accompany you to the north,” Lin Mo nodded.

Since he had asked the Emperor Group for a favor, he reckoned it would take some time for them to find anything, and he didn’t have much else to do.

For this trip to the north, Lin Mo didn’t bring Yingzi along. He asked her to stay at the Yang Family place to reflect and consolidate her cultivation.

It was still autumn elsewhere, the weather slightly cool, but the north seemed to have already entered winter, the climate extremely cold, and near Ha City, it was even colder. When Lin Mo and Xia Mengdie exited the airport terminal, snowflakes floated in the sky like clusters of Silver Bells.

The pedestrians on the streets were all wearing thick cotton and down coats, yet Lin Mo was dressed in a light suit, and Xia Mengdie wore a long white dress. Both seemed to feel no cold whatsoever, drawing sidelong glances from those around them.

It wasn’t surprising in Lin Mo’s case; even in a land of millennia-old glaciers, he would not feel a hint of cold. And Xia Mengdie, by Lin Mo’s side, naturally felt no chill at all.

”Meng Die, I’m over here,” a voice like Silver Bell’s chimed in suddenly.

A black Audi A8 was parked by the snow-covered road, its window rolled down to reveal a fair complexioned face. A girl about twenty-one years old in white cotton clothes, her nose reddened from the cold, was waving her tender little hands toward them.

The two didn’t rush to Xia Mengdie’s grandfather’s home upon arriving in the north but planned to enjoy themselves for a day. The girl in the car was Lu Zitao, one of Xia Mengdie’s good friends from the north.

Although Xia Mengdie’s parents weren’t on great terms with her grandfather’s family, Xia Mengdie would occasionally visit the north and had made a group of friends there. Lu Zitao was one of them.

”Taozi, I haven’t seen you for so long, you’ve gotten thinner,” Xia Mengdie said cheerfully.

”With that mouth of yours, you always know what to say,” Lu Zitao covered her mouth and chuckled lightly, ”Meng Die, aren’t you cold in that long dress?”

”It’s okay, I don’t feel very cold.”

After the two exchanged pleasantries, Lin Mo and Xia Mengdie got into the car.

Lu Zitao was quite pretty and had an elegant demeanor, her face adorned with light makeup. Glancing at Lin Mo through her rear-view mirror, she asked, ”Meng Die, is this your boyfriend?”

”Hello, my name is Lin Mo,” Lin Mo said courteously.

Lu Zitao withdrew her gaze and sighed softly. Meng Die was her good friend and seeing her friend with a boyfriend who seemed to have no prospects was naturally a bit irksome to her.

Sensing the awkward atmosphere, Xia Mengdie didn’t know how to explain it to Lu Zitao and changed the subject, ”Taozi, I heard you’re working as an anchor at the radio and television station. You’re a celebrity now, huh?”

”I’m no celebrity. I just host an entertainment program on a local TV station; there’s not much of a future in it,” Lu Zitao sighed softly and then perked up, ”Oh yes, everyone knows you’re back in the north. We have to have a good gathering tonight. I’ve booked a private room at Starlight Pure K. Let’s not go home until we’re thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, no matter what.”

(Goodnight, the wonderful story continues tomorrow, and also please give me a recommendation ticket for Monday.)
