Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot

Chapter 1142: Chapter 1141: Shirley Grant’s Seven Years

When Alan Morgan heard that Shirley Grant had often been unwell before, there was a clear change in his expression.

His hands slowly clenched.

This woman, does she not know how to take care of herself?

”When Mommy feels bad, she doesn’t really like to talk, so Gerry Peary will be on his best behavior. But sometimes, even if Gerry is very good, Mommy still feels bad.”

In his innocence, he thought that as long as he didn’t bother Mommy, Mommy would feel better.

”Is that so? Does Mommy get sick a lot?”

Alan Morgan didn’t know why he asked this, and it felt a bit strange.

That strange feeling made him start to feel unnatural.

”Mommy’s voice is really nice, it was just that one year, she got really, really sick, she lost so, so much weight, spent so, so much money, and even stayed in the Hospital.”

Gerry Peary didn’t remember it too clearly, but that time left a deep impression on him.

”Oh.”

...

After coaxing Gerry Peary to sleep, Alan Morgan immediately took out the information he had paid a private detective to investigate and started reading.

Sitting in the ward, he felt that this stack in front of him was even more frightening than a critical condition notice.

With trembling hands, he slowly opened it.

Seven years ago, the day after Shirley Grant broke up with him, which was also the day they were originally supposed to get married, she stayed over at the Royal Bay Villa.

In that new house, she dressed beautifully and stayed that way the whole day.

Later, she left Capital Town, only to discover that she was pregnant.

Because the wedding was canceled at the last minute, she was kicked out by her family and had been wandering alone ever since.

Pregnant, she did not have an easy time; in the early stages, her morning sickness was extremely severe.

Fortunately, she still had a little bit of money on her.

When she was eight months pregnant, she was admitted to the Hospital to await delivery.

And on the day she gave birth, an accident happened.

Massive hemorrhage.

She almost lost her life.

The private detective even found several Doctors who had delivered her back then; one of them had a particularly deep impression of Shirley Grant.

But was unwilling to say much.

The file included the contact information, and it also said that if the child’s father came in person, he might be willing to talk.

Alan Morgan frowned and didn’t read any further. He directly called this Doctor.

”Hello?”

”I’m Alan Morgan. Seven years ago, you delivered a Ms. Shirley Grant. I’m her husband.”

”Husband?”

The Doctor froze for a moment, her brows knitting together.

”I’ve been wanting to scold you for a long time. Shirley Grant was in the Hospital waiting to give birth all by herself. Do you have any idea how critical her situation was then? Do you know how weak she was? During delivery she had a massive hemorrhage—do you know she almost lost her life?”

A barrage of questions crackled out one after another; the Doctor was absolutely fuming.

Listening to the accusations of the unfamiliar older woman on the phone, Alan Morgan frowned.

Maybe because she was a woman herself, the Doctor felt it was all too unfair for Shirley Grant and wanted to stand up for her.

”Back then, when Shirley Grant was wheeled into the operating room, she said that if it came down to choosing one of the two, we were to choose the child.”

After a long time, the Doctor calmed herself and slowly brought up this heavy topic.

She had long wanted to tell all this to the child’s father, so he would cherish a woman like Shirley Grant more.

”She said the child was more important than her life. In the operating room, when she was hemorrhaging badly, I panicked.”

Because she knew better than anyone else what was about to happen.

”At that time, half-conscious, she kept calling your name, saying...saying...”
