Chapter 1097: Chapter 1096: What Happened to the Promised Vacation? (3 more updates)

Since the place was already furnished, Tong Xiangxiu immediately checked out of the hotel and moved in that night, saying it would save on room costs.

The day after moving in, the new home welcomed its first guest, who was Su Yingxue.

Su Yingxue was doing quite well in the Imperial Capital with a tight schedule. Upon hearing that Tong Xiuxiang was coming to the Imperial Capital, she made a special effort to squeeze out a day to visit.

Tong Xiuxiang was already aware of Ye Haochuan and Su Yingxue’s relationship and knew she was coming. So she went out early to buy groceries, planning to prepare a homemade meal for her.

”Ding dong!”

The doorbell rang, and Ye Haochuan went to open the door. Su Yingxue handed Ye Haochuan a basket of fruit and asked, ”Where is Auntie?”

”My mom is busy in the kitchen!”

So Su Yingxue went into the kitchen to greet Tong Xiangxiu, who said happily, ”Yingxue, you go sit for a while, dinner will be ready soon!”

”Haochuan, come help!”

Hearing Tong Xiangxiu’s call, Ye Haochuan immediately complained, ”Mom, you’re being biased!”

While muttering, he walked into the kitchen, only to help pick the vegetables. Tong Xiangxiu said, ”Haochuan, I think Yingxue seems pretty exhausted. Is she too tired from work?”

As the Successor of the Holy Hand, Ye Haochuan could naturally tell that Su Yingxue was obviously sleep-deprived. Prolonged sleep deprivation could easily lead to a weakened immune system and various illnesses.

After helping Tong Xiangxiu with the vegetables, Ye Haochuan came out to find Su Yingxue already asleep on the sofa. He didn’t wake her, covered her with a blanket, and returned to the kitchen.

”Okay, you don’t need to help in the kitchen anymore, go keep Yingxue company,” said Tong Xiangxiu as she was chopping vegetables.

Ye Haochuan shrugged and said, ”She’s asleep on the sofa.”

Tong Xiangxiu glanced outside and said, ”Let her sleep then, we can wake her for dinner.”

Soon, five or six homemade dishes were on the table. The aroma awoke Su Yingxue, who apologized, ”I’m sorry, Auntie, I fell asleep accidentally.”

Saying this, Su Yingxue got up to help set the table.

During the meal, the three of them chatted intermittently. Tong Xiangxiu said, ”Yingxue, don’t push yourself too hard with work, make sure to get some rest.”

”I’ll rest well after this busy period is over.” Having entered the entertainment industry, Su Yingxue had no choice; her life had become irregular, and she often didn’t sleep well.

Ye Haochuan said, ”You’re a human, not a machine. I need to find time to talk to your boss. What if they wear you out with such a tight schedule?”

Su Yingxue replied, ”It’s like this when you’re just starting out.”

...

After dinner, Tong Xiangxiu was in the kitchen washing dishes, while Ye Haochuan and Su Yingxue snuggled on the sofa watching TV.

”Today, let’s just stay in and watch TV together. If you feel sleepy, just take a nap,” Ye Haochuan said gently.

Su Yingxue nodded, ”Okay.”

”Ring-ring-ring—”

However, before the words were out of his mouth, Su Yingxue’s phone rang, and the caller ID showed the name President He.

”It’s my company boss,” Su Yingxue said, waving her phone.

”Aren’t you on a break today? Why is your boss calling?”

”It might be something urgent.”

Su Yingxue put the call on speaker and answered, ”President He, what’s up?”

A man’s voice came from the phone, ”Yingxue, come to Tianyu Hotel right away!”

”Uh, but I’m on a break today!”

”What break? As a company artist, you must always be on call. Get to Tianyu Hotel immediately!”

Ye Haochuan wasn’t too happy about this and said, ”President He, Yingxue is your employee, not a machine. Are you going to deprive her of even this one chance to rest?”

President He replied impatiently, ”Who are you?”

”Me? I’m Yingxue’s boyfriend!”

”This is none of your business, let Yingxue take the call!” President He said, exasperatedly.

Su Yingxue said, ”President He, I’m quite tired today. Can we discuss this tomorrow?”

The voice on the other end became displeased and roared, ”Su Yingxue, are you acting like a diva now that you’ve gained some fame? If it wasn’t for the company promoting you relentlessly, would you have what you have today?”

Su Yingxue panicked and quickly explained, ”President He, that’s not what I meant. It’s just that I haven’t really rested lately, and the company knows my situation. They gave me a day off to rest thoroughly; otherwise, it might affect upcoming work.”

President He’s voice softened a bit, saying, ”Yingxue, you can take a break anytime, but this opportunity is now or never!”

”What opportunity?”

”President Zhang from Hongzheng Real Estate is planning to invest in a new film and is considering you for the leading role. Today, he happens to be available and wants to discuss it with you. If you don’t go, the leading role might slip away!”

”Oh, is that so!” Getting the lead role as a newbie actress is indeed a rare opportunity.

”Is there any problem now?”

”No problem.”

”Then hurry over!”

”Wait a minute!” Ye Haochuan interrupted their conversation, saying with dissatisfaction, ”President He, I have no objection to Yingxue discussing collaboration, but meeting in a hotel is quite inappropriate, don’t you think?”

”What do you know? President Zhang’s time is precious, so you expect him to come to our company instead?”

”President He, I can’t agree with that. If it’s a mutual collaboration, why should we accommodate him?”

”Yingxue! Yingxue!” It seemed President He didn’t know how to respond to Ye Haochuan, so he kept calling for Su Yingxue, who replied, ”President He, I’m here!”

”This opportunity only comes once. Just tell me, are you going or not?”

”Yes, I’ll go!”

”Great, contact me when you get there!” President He said before hanging up.

At this moment, Tong Xiangxiu came out of the kitchen, finished with her chores, and asked, ”What’s going on?”

Su Yingxue, looking a bit apologetic, said, ”I’m sorry, Auntie, something came up at the company, and I need to go over there.”

Tong Xiangxiu said with dissatisfaction, ”Why do you need to go to the company even when you’re on a break?”

Su Yingxue replied, ”Auntie, that’s just how my job is; something could come up at any time.”

”Haochuan, accompany Yingxue. Look at how exhausted she looks. What if she faints on the way?”

Ye Haochuan chuckled, ”Yingxue, see how well my mom treats you. She’s never been this concerned about me.”

In fact, that was also Ye Haochuan’s intention. He wanted to see what exactly this President Zhang wanted to discuss with Su Yingxue, and why it had to be at a hotel.

Soon, Ye Haochuan drove Su Yingxue to Tianyu Hotel. After confirming the room over the phone, Su Yingxue said, ”Brother Ye, wait for me here for a bit. I’ll be down shortly.”

”Alright, you go ahead!”

After Su Yingxue went upstairs, Ye Haochuan booked a room next to President Zhang’s. There, using Perspective Eyes, he could clearly see everything happening next door!
