Chapter 2629: 2629. Fire Fight

Dense fire mana whipped through the air toward Walker as the violent flame hornet flapped its wings to counter Remey. Her charge came with its own powerful flames, but the flames were potent enough on either side to counter one another.

This left Walker blocking these intense waves of flame. His fire mana manipulation pulled at these dense waves of potent fire mana and spun them back toward the fight. While seemingly dangerous for the two fighting, He knew that both Remeye and the violent flame hornet would not care at all.

He could also easily use some of that fire mana for himself as he calmed it and stored it within his body. The benefit of having it with him was enough for their journey and his needs for fire mana elsewhere when repairing items or making more natural mana.

The next collision of Remeyʼs fist on the hard bone like armor of the violent flame hornet was partnered with a high pitched shriek.

She had cracked the armor just enough to cause what Walker could tell was even denser free mana to bleed out along with blood itself. The blood sizzled and dissipated showing that this was truly a monster focused entirely around fire mana, it wouldnʼt be able to survive within any other elemental plane or the world with how it was now.

Walker could have used some water mana to instantly kill it, but the use of even a little water here and now coil drastically causes an unbalance in the fire elemental plane. It has just been brought to the greater fire elemental planes to bond and acclimate, this would undo all of that and cause more damage.

The next potent wave of fire mana came as the violent flame hornet tried to shoot stingers at Remmey. She lowered her stance and leaped aside to dodge them. She was much faster even without using the wings of flame she possessed right now. The violent flame hornet had no chance to catch her unless it aimed properly and distracted her.

Instead, it acted in violence and rage. The darting charge it followed up with while the explosive flames from the stingers radiated around them was intended to grab Remey. From there it could have used the sharp flaming legs and pincers to dissect her. To win.

That wouldnʼt happen though.

Remey condensed even more deeper red flames on her fists. She was using the alchemy flames this time.

This would have made anyone else question why but the party. They all knew how she had learned how to use the alchemy flame better than any other flames. Even the dragon flames she could use and she had received guidance from Ignis himself were not her strongest suit. Alchemy flames were.

The moment her fists struck out again, the violent flame hornet tried to dodge, but being the slower one in this battle did not work in its favor. It was struck right on the joint of one of its limbs. As a result, the cracking was exceptionally greater.

Remey had used the alchemy flames to degrade the portion of bone like outer armor on its body. The same way that the alchemy flames would wear away at the materials and extract the beneficial aspects of an herb. While the process would be more controlled and smaller, Remey could manipulate a lot more mana at once because of her training.

The alchemy flames raged out of control beyond what the violent flame hornet could resist. It became even more blinded by rage as one of its legs fell to the ground and it could sense its body also being damaged further than just that.

As the violent flame hornet gathered more fire mana with the clear intention of sending out a denser and more dangerous explosive stinger, Remey had already moved. Her wings this time pushed her forward and her entire body was wreathed in deep red flames. She had mixed the alchemy flames with the dragon flame that radiated from her body. Her smile was full of vicious intent.

Walker could see it all as he blocked the waves of flame chaotically crashing in to his manipulated barrier of fire.

She was breathing in fire mana denser and more dangerous, using it for her own. She didnʼt flinch, no, Remey was in her element. She was rising above and beyond this tougher opponent. If the violent flame hornet had lived for a hundred more years it might be able to fight her on equal grounds. Now? No way. It couldnʼt even keep even with her, it could only fight with the hope it could scare her away.

Not that that would ever be possible. Remey was not easily scared, or at all really.

The next fist came together. The defense breaking fist mixed with violently clashing fire mana awaiting release.

Remey breathed out as the fist collided with the violent flame hornetʼs head. The split second before, Walker could feel that this was more of a fight to prove she had grown and not become weak rather than a fight for a material. The material they gathered was just a bonus. It could have been the most common whaling herb rather than something that could improve her own growth.

As the punch ended the life of the violent flame hornet, the trouble wasnʼt near being over.

Vicious flames emanated from the body. The intense heat even made Remey flinch away, proving that the violent flame hornet hadnʼt been able to even utilize the strength it possessed. It had been too young and too unintelligent to manipulate it all to win this battle.

Now though, its mana was surging out from its body in waves even denser and more brutal than before. Remey did her best to counter a great deal of it, but using that heavier alchemy and dragon flame mixed attack had left her weaker than before. It wasnʼt that she had exhausted herself, but a large attack like that came with some backlash.

Knowing this, Walker used his full strength. Instead of attempting to bring the violent flames under his control, he let them hit and condense against the wall of flames he made. It was holding but putting more and more pressure.

Remey noticed that the would flame gem cluster was the center of it all. The dense flames seemed to be spurred even more so but nearing it. She didnʼt hesitate to leap forward and grab it.

The weight put strain on her body but when Walker saw her move he threw out his hand and placed it in the cluster. It vanished in to the multi dimensional storage causing the entire area to change.

The whiplash of violent flame suddenly having half the force they had A moment ago caused Walker to exert too much force. He brought the condensed wall of flames together tighter. This resulted in an area with controlled flames at a much denser form than before.

Before he could start displaying the flames in worry that he caused some sort of damage or risk, he felt a pull. It was something breaking out. Something that suddenly had just found the perfect environment to grow.

Small red shoots bursting from the ground, they were barely a foot tall now but this condensed fire mana was providing them the nourishment they had lacked. All of that mana had been too violent and absorbed or pushed around by the violent flame hornet to be absorbed by anything else.

ʼPure flame bamboo

This plant often keeps dense and extremely purified fire mana within its sections. Due to this, it is an ideal natural storage item for larger amounts of fire mana. Many planters and races within the fire elemental plane will collect it wherever it grows.

It grows rapidly and attracts larger amounts of fire mana causing it to become a flaming bamboo forest in the areas it originates. Some believe that it can even become a spiritual sentient being if left for hundreds of thousands of years, there is no proof to such tales…ʼ

The information went in to other uses but overall Walker was more shocked that he was watching it grow in the hundreds now. Remey had defeated the violent flame hornet and he had stored the soulʼs flame gem cluster. Both were reasons this plant could not grow, now he and Remey were the reason it could.

And grow it did.

”Itʼs amazing!” Remey still panted a bit but she was just as amazed as Walker was. She lost some focus on the battle and the soul flame gem cluster. Instead, she stood in awe at the tepidly changing terrain.

”Iʼd say we might be helping the elemental planes a little more than we realized.” There were questions beginning to cross Walkerʼs mind now. Heʼd need to find answers soon for them.
