Master Of None

Chapter 2627: 2627. Deeper In To The New

It was much simpler having to act intimidating and Walker preferred that. He was also able to experience a more unique side of monster habits. The decision to tolerate another herd of monsters because the food was abundant was not just a learning experience. It offered future solutions he could utilize if the situation was similar.

Midnight on the other hand, appeared to be a little disappointing. The monster she had defeated was not at all as dangerous or hard to fight. Even though there was no burst of fire mana that could have harmed her, she felt that she should have been slower to allow for such an attack to explode. Maybe that would have led to a fun battle.

Onyx had been reprimanding her since he knew exactly what she was thinking. He could tell that she was waiting for a chance to fight outright and openly with her full strength. Something that none of them in the party ever had the chance to do.

That was a good thing, but it was clear that it was a part of relaxing and being themselves that everyone had avoided. Even Walker always had to be mindful of peace and balance. Therefore, he never used his full ability to use all manas. Instead, he would focus on smaller magical abilities and fixing problems.

He too had not realized he was itching to let loose a little. The eternal codex often just took a magical staff from now, it was rarely taking the form of a solid weapon he could use physical and magical skills with.

”Is this area not as dangerous as we expected? The true fire sage said that this was one of those new elemental planes added to the fire elemental plane. Other than unsettled it just seems… the same?” The way Gil saw it, yes there were dangerous monsters here, but the party could handle them.

”It is a young elemental plane compared to the overall fire elemental plane. I can see how unsettled is a risk and worry for the balance.” Since Su knew that the balance within the elemental planes was a massive focus, she was trying to give a little face to the true fire sage and the worries they might have.

”This is just the edge of it. There is more, Remey, I know you can sense fire a little more closely, but since I can sense space, I will tell you that you are missing some things.” This made Remey wrinkle her nose. She didnʼt like that Walker was able to sense better than her. She had a lot of training with fire mana and it didnʼt feel fair that she was still not able to keep up with him.

”Iʼm not saying it to be mean. I just can feel that there is a lot more that we canʼt see. I assume the dangers are that way and the reason the true fire sage wants us to see is so that we can understand all the true sages and the elemental kings when they speak about the dangers the shift is causing. Larger shifts like this are why they are so quickly accepting bringing races to us.”

Walker didnʼt want to think that the radiant light elves or the dark wing race coming to Genesis was because of the dangers. However, the radiant light elves were a race that stayed in one place unlike the dark wing race that was nomadic. The radiant light elves could be displaced and lose everything.

It would mean a major loss for the light elemental plane along with the homes and the race itself losing much more.

His mind dwelled on the potential that there would or could be dangers to the radiant light elves. To other established races who seemed peaceful from what the world knew. Who could lose everything?

For the smaller races always struggling and used to moving, they could adapt. They would be able to come to Genesis and rebuild more easily since they knew of the process in depth. For an established race not used to that in many years? Well, they could suffer very much so trying to get to a point where they could even survive.

The rumble of fire mana bursting in a much larger wave caused Walker to halt everyoneʼs movement. He had said to Remey he could sense unstable space mana too. He could tell this wasnʼt a small elemental plane but just the edges that had begun to adapt to the greater fire elemental plane.

Now, he sensed how some more violent fire mana caused the space to shake. The danger of shifting manas and elemental planes seen clearly for the first time in his eyes. Feeling it was much different compared to just hearing about the dangers.

”That is not just flames, is it?” Now it was Onuxʼs turn to be confused. Walker also sensed a vague feeling of worry since Onyx wasnʼt sure how he would approach the monster he just saw.

ʼYellow flame elemental cat

These are a species of flame elemental, specifically yellow flames. They have a feline shape when condensing their bodies, when not condensed they are in the form of a fiery mass causing high temperatures and dangerous fire mana fluctuations.

They struggle to hide their forms when they come in contact with other dense fire mana causing bursts of dangerous fire mana. Even other fire affinity beings will struggle with the dense flames they release when losing their forms temporarily.

Fighting them is not recommended due to their anger toward those who attack them. They will often reform their bodies and seek revenge. Otherwise, defeating them is also a challenge due to the fact that they can reform their bodies their fire mana needs to be nearly fully dissipated to properly defeat them. Or they must encounter opposing elemental manas.

If they survive for longer than a hundred years, there is a chance they can gain sentience and lose their status as an elemental building a body to become fully solid…ʼ

The additional information was not necessary right now. There were several of these yellow flame elemental cats roaming the area ahead of them. There was also plenty of flowing dense fire mana causing them to explode with destructive waves of fire mana.

The entire area was like explosive potions left to crack with time and destroy anything nearby. Walker was not at all happy to realize this was the state of the elemental plane recently added here by the origin race to adapt.

While the beings within like these yellow flame elemental cats could adapt and potentially gain some sentience and transition to a race of some form, they were dangerous to everything. No other monster or race could explore here without taking damage and harm.

Meaning that this was the state of various other small elemental planes being added to the greater elemental planes. They were causing dangerous lands and shifting the planes themselves to lead to losses for intelligent recognized races. It didnʼt feel right at all to Walker.

”We will avoid them. We canʼt gain anything from them as materials or education. We canʼt stay here and watch them adapt or the land adapt. We need to side step them.” Su made the decision for the entire party.

She knew full well that she could not shield everyone from the wear and tear on their minds and bodies. It might not harm them to the point that they were at risk of dying but it would make their journey here and wards harder. Walker hadnʼt needed to stop and repair any of their items, armor, or weapons yet. It was better to keep it that way.

”Those arenʼt as dangerous as those waves of fire mana flowing around here. This is the elemental plane that the origin race feels is safe enough to put here and acclimate to the greater fire elemental plane. I want to know the criteria they used to decide that. What it looked like before.”

Walker hadnʼt questioned the process of the Origin beings yet. He had known they were far out of reach but now, he was questioning if they understood the delicate balance they were causing to break here and there within each elemental plane.

If they understood the losses that came from their actions.

”If we find them we can understand. We can try to learn more. As long as you watch and grow.” Alice had stopped her song to say this, she knew full well that Walker needed to hear it too.

”Youʼre right. We will keep on for now. And we will get answers later.” While somewhat unwilling, he started to lead them all ahead. They could sidestep this area but there was still the central portion of this newly added elemental plane. If it would be chaotic, was yet to be seen.
