System Awakened: I Became the Mafia Kings' Obsession

Cassian was still on the bed, sleeping peacefully. The door was opened forcefully, revealing Raymond with a bucket of extremely cold water in his hand. The tension in the room instantly spiked, heavy and suffocating, as Raymond glared at the sleeping Cassian.

Seeing Cassian still sleeping so peacefully, his anger increased, and he poured the entire bucket of cold water directly on him.

”Who the hell is tired of living, messing with me so early in the morning!” Cassian cursed angrily, sneezing twice right away.

He sat up on the bed immediately, his hand flying toward his gun on the nightstand to shoot whoever dared to pour water on him. But before he could reach his weapon, his eyes fell on Raymond and the empty bucket in his hand. The air in the room instantly crackled with lethal hostility.

Raymond’s brows knitted tightly. ”Early in the morning? Check your time, Mr. Cassian, it’s already 12 PM,” he snorted coldly.

Cassian glared at Raymond with a deadly glare, a thick, dangerous aura surrounding him. ”What exactly possessed you into looking for my trouble now?” he asked with a confused expression on his face.

”You dare ask me that? What exactly did you do to my wifey? Her voice is no longer loud, and her neck is all filled with hickeys!” he groaned angrily, jealousy radiating from him in waves.

”Oh,” Cassian laughed, staring at Raymond. ”You don’t know? Let me explain. Last night, my beautiful honey and I went rounds of love. Guess I satisfied her much more than you can do. That’s why she was so pleased last night, even screaming my name,” he explained, beaming with pride, purposely pouring gasoline on the fire.

”I see,” Raymond nodded, throwing the bucket aside. ”Let’s see if I remove two of your teeth, you can still be this proud, you bastard!” He gritted his teeth together in anger and rushed toward the bed. The violent tension finally snapped.

Cassian immediately stood up on the bed, jumping to the other side. ”I say, man, let me teach you if you don’t know how to do it. Don’t add arrogance to your problem,” he said in a provoking voice.

”You are dead meat if I catch you. I dare you to not run.” Raymond’s anger increased as he climbed onto the bed to meet Cassian.

Cassian immediately ran out. ”I’m waiting,” he smirked, reaching the entrance and immediately running away.

Raymond ran after him immediately. ”Just stop running and see what will happen to you!” he said in provocation, not slowing down.

The shirtless Cassian was running around while Raymond was chasing fiercely after him. In the sitting room, Cassian sneezed twice, feeling the chill of the room temperature.

”I’m supposed to kill you for pouring such cold water on me!” Cassian shouted, still evading Raymond.

”You deserve much colder water, bastard!” Raymond exclaimed, still chasing him.

Alan was sitting on the chair in the sitting room, watching the chaotic scene with excitement. ”Just catch each other and hit each other,” he thought, quietly observing the tense rivalry without interrupting.

Nova, dressed in a beautiful white strapless corset top and white baggy pants with black combat boots, walked down the stairs. Her long, wavy-styled hair was blown gently by the air as she walked. Seeing Raymond and Cassian furiously chasing each other, a soft smile appeared on her lips.

Instead of interrupting them, she leaned against the railing and watched them, noticing that despite the high-strung, competitive tension, there was no true lethal hostility between them.

Cassian was still running while Raymond was still chasing him, when Cassian noticed Nova and immediately ran to her side.

”Darling, look! He poured water on me and even threatened to remove my teeth. I was so scared that I started running for my life,” he reported, wrapping his wet arms tightly around Nova’s arm.

Nova’s gaze fell on his bare abs and she licked her lower lip. She reached out and touched his skin, feeling how incredibly cold it was. ”So cold. Hubby, how could you do that?” Nova said. Even though her voice wasn’t loud, it didn’t show any sign of anger.

Raymond was staring at Nova, a warm smile immediately spreading on his face. He approached her and possessively pushed Cassian aside.

”He is a man. Instead of waking up early to cook for wifey, he lay lazily on the bed sleeping. I just poured a small amount of water on him, it’s not that cold,” Raymond replied, wrapping his arms securely around Nova.

”The water is indeed not too cold,” Alan commented as he approached them.

Raymond stared at him and gave him a secret thumbs-up.

Cassian stared at Alan in disbelief. ”You are siding with him now, huh?” He gritted his teeth and held Nova’s hand. ”Darling, look, both of them are bullying me now,” he reported.

Nova laughed and gently patted his wet hair, giving him a gentle kiss on his lips. ”Alright, alright, don’t be angry. You should take a hot bath and wear a sweater, don’t catch a cold,” she said.

Cassian nodded and pressed another kiss on Nova’s lips before running upstairs to his room to freshen up immediately.

.....

At the dining table, the unspoken rivalry hung heavy in the air. Raymond carefully served Nova her food and sat closely beside her, picking up his own bowl.

”Mhm... I missed your cooking already,” Nova said, eating with a highly pleased expression on her face.

Raymond smiled proudly and stared pointedly at Alan, who was also seated beside Nova, calmly eating in silence.

”Urm...” Raymond cleared his throat, a sharp, territorial edge in his tone. ”Alan, you can only taste my cooking this one time. After this, order takeout if you cannot cook. My cooking is exclusively for my wifey alone,” he said.

Alan’s mouth fell slightly open. ”He finally came at me after my careful planning not to mess with him,” he thought, narrowing his eyes as he stared intensely at Raymond. The tension flared up again, completely thick and competitive.

”Hubby, Alan is still growing. Eating takeout every time is not cool,” Nova said.

A proud, triumphant smile spread on Alan’s lips immediately. ”I’m still the best in my Snow’s heart,” he thought, putting down his plate to affectionately hold Nova’s hand.

”It’s fine, Snow. I am used to takeout. I can always eat that as long as I can eat at the same table as everyone,” he said, his eyes turning perfectly glossy with pitiful tears.

Raymond was completely dumbfounded. ”Who are you trying to use this pitiful Cinderella logic on? Don’t be a green tea and drop the act!” he scolded, gritting his teeth together in frustration.

”Ray,” Nova murmured softly.

Raymond’s brows knitted tightly. ”Wifey called me by my name. Seems like this little boy’s aim is my wife’s entire attention on him. Tsk, you met the wrong target,” he thought, his competitive drive flaring.

”Wifey, I mean you are also still growing, you should eat more,” he said, swiftly trying to change his tune.

Nova was silent for a while. ”I’ll cook for him then,” she said.

”That’s impossible!” Three voices echoed sharply in unison, the room’s atmosphere instantly vibrating with their shared panic.

Cassian walked in, wearing a long cardigan and pants with mismatched slippers. He sat in the opposite chair, glaring fiercely across the table at Alan and Raymond.

”Who wants my wife to cook in the kitchen?” he asked, his glare cutting through the thick tension.

Nova sighed. ”Everyone will help in the kitchen then to get a share. That’s it,” she stated firmly.

Everyone nodded in immediate agreement. Cassian was about to serve himself, but Raymond cast him a deadly, territorial glare.

Cassian smirked provokingly and was about to pour food onto his plate, but Nova suddenly took the entire pot.

”I love this. You guys share the rest,” she said.

Cassian’s expression was filled with shock, noticing the rest of the food was not to his liking at all. ”Wifey, I... I don’t like these foods.”

Nova stared at the foods and nodded. ”True, you will catch a cold. Don’t eat them,” she replied, smiling brightly.

Raymond burst into loud laughter, thoroughly enjoying Cassian’s twisted, defeated expression.
