Why was it that Clara had a treasure chest on her?

Earlier, neither Seele nor Hook had triggered one.

And yet now, Clara did.

Evan didn’t dwell on it for long.

After all, the chance to obtain two silver-tier treasure chests at once was incredibly rare.

What really mattered was—

what exactly would these two silver chests give him?

[Open treasure chests?]

Open.

The act of opening treasure chests—and the chests themselves—were completely unobservable to outsiders.

Not even Aeons could perceive them.

Very soon, the contents of both chests were automatically transferred into Evan’s inventory.

[Host: Evan] 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

[Age: 22]

[Profession: Treasure Hunter]

[Abilities acquired:

– Herrscher of Reason Authority (non-Finality version)

– Jade Shield (non-elemental charging version)]

[Items acquired:

– Arahato Mecha Blueprint]

[All treasure chests in the Underworld have been unlocked (hidden chests excluded). You may proceed to the Overworld.]

[Overworld map not yet unlocked. Please enter to activate.]

[Note: Special characters, locations, or missions may generate treasure chests.]

So that’s how it was.

Clara counted as a special condition—

a protection-type trigger linked to Svarog.

That was why she generated an additional treasure chest.

No wonder it had felt a bit off earlier.

Evan didn’t think too much about it.

Instead, his attention was drawn to the two newly acquired rewards on his status panel.

Jade Shield

A defensive skill.

Just from the name, it was obvious—

this was a Preservation-type ability, a pure defensive support skill.

And frankly?

It was exactly what Evan needed most right now.

The Silvermane Guard shields he could reconstruct were fine against ordinary enemies—

but against future opponents like Dan Heng (Imbibitor Lunae), Blade, or Kafka?

They probably wouldn’t hold.

Belobog was, after all, a remote backwater planet.

But Jade Shield was different.

If Evan remembered correctly—

this skill originated from another world entirely.

A world called Teyvat.

More specifically—

from Zhongli.

Jade Shield was a top-tier defensive ability.

And according to the system description—

when Evan took damage, the shield would actually restore energy instead of just absorbing hits.

That alone made it leagues stronger than standard Silvermane shields.

If his memory served him right—

this level of shield was something Zhongli only unlocked at full constellation.

And now Evan had it for free.

Absolute profit.

Among all defensive-type characters, Zhongli was practically one of a kind.

If that old gentleman were to appear in this universe—

he could easily walk the Path of Preservation.

He might even catch the Amber Lord’s attention and become an Emanator.

After all—

God of Gold.

God of Contracts.

God of War.

That belief system lined up perfectly with Preservation.

Arahato Mecha Blueprint

Evan checked the second silver chest reward.

”...Wow.”

At first glance, it looked almost exactly like something out of EVA.

But this thing—

was a mecha.

Arahato.

If he remembered correctly, this was a mech developed by Anti-Entropy.

Its combat performance wasn’t especially outstanding—

and it got wrecked pretty early in its debut.

So why was it classified as a silver-tier reward?

A closer look answered that question.

The blueprint clearly stated:

The pilot must be a Pathstrider

The core is powered directly by Imaginary Energy

No energy-conversion system required

If constructed successfully—

its combat power would far surpass Belobog’s existing war machines.

On other planets, this mech might not be anything special.

But for Belobog?

This was about as good as it got.

Of course, the drawback was obvious.

Only those who had stepped onto a Path could pilot Arahato.

Imaginary Energy supply was mandatory.

In the Underworld, Pathstriders were extremely rare.

Still—

once the Stellaron crisis was resolved,

this mech could replace the ancient machines used to fight the Antimatter Legion lurking beneath the ice.

Before that, though—

Evan fully intended to build one for himself first.

After all...

Piloting a mecha was a man’s romance.

”...Evan? What’s wrong? Why are you spacing out?”

Seeing Clara throw herself in front of artillery fire earlier had frightened Seele badly.

She hurried over—

only to find Evan lost in thought.

”It’s nothing,” Evan waved his hand.

”I was just surprised by what Clara did.”

He looked at Clara, who was still worried.

Then at Svarog, whose gaze remained fixed on him.

And quietly absorbed the newly acquired ability.

[Congratulations. Skill acquired: Jade Shield (non-elemental charging version).]
