Overthrow the Supreme Guardian?

In the entirety of Belobog, almost no one had ever entertained such a thought.

Not even Serval, who was openly at odds with Cocolia.

At most, Serval’s feelings toward Cocolia were born of resentment—

hatred born from love.

As for the people of the Underworld, while they complained endlessly and had grown deeply disgusted with most of the Overworld...

The idea of overthrowing the Supreme Guardian had barely crossed anyone’s mind.

Because there was one fact everyone understood.

The so-called Supreme Guardian was the leader chosen by the Architect lineage.

Throughout history, every Supreme Guardian had come from the Landau line.

Each generation of Supreme Guardians had no children of their own, ensuring absolute fairness and neutrality.

The current Supreme Guardian, Cocolia, had been personally cultivated by the previous one.

Only by inheriting the Landau name did one qualify to inherit the title of Supreme Guardian.

To overthrow her...

Was practically the same as overthrowing seven hundred years of Belobog’s history.

This wasn’t something that could be done with a few heated words.

After all, without the Supreme Guardian, Belobog likely wouldn’t have survived these past seven centuries at all.

Natasha fell into deep thought.

She crouched down, counting the medicines they had just brought back from Rivet Town, her mind clearly elsewhere.

Seele, meanwhile, leaned against the wall with practiced ease, her massive scythe cradled in her arms.

One foot rhythmically kicked at the ground.

Evan’s proposal had clearly shocked them both.

That was why neither of them spoke for a long while.

Seeing the two of them fall silent, Evan leaned back against the wall as well, half-dazed as he checked his system inventory.

[One unopened treasure chest.]

The chest remained shrouded in mist.

Only once it was opened would its grade be revealed.

As a treasure hunter, Evan knew full well that treasure chests came in four tiers:

Wooden chests

Silver chests

Gold chests

And the extremely rare, highly concealed Diamond chests

According to the system, the most common ones were wooden and silver chests.

These could be found almost anywhere within designated regions.

For example, the one from Natasha’s Clinic was definitely a wooden chest.

As for the one in Svarog’s territory—hard to say, but it was definitely nowhere near gold-tier.

The best chest of all would likely be the final reward chest of the Belobog arc.

That one would almost certainly be gold-tier.

The only question was—

What kind of fun thing would a gold chest give him?

Maybe...

A Susanoo?

Just imagine it—

Left hand controlling a Susanoo, right hand wielding the Herrscher of Reason’s authority.

A Herrscher of Reason with Susanoo?

That’d be rude, wouldn’t it?

Of course, even a weapon wouldn’t be bad.

After all, constantly carpet-bombing areas with Throne of the Moonlight felt... uncivilized.

Open the treasure chest.

As Evan silently issued the command—

The mist-shrouded chest materialized instantly before him.

Sure enough, it was a wooden chest.

Iron bands wrapped tightly around the box, and when it opened, a soft blue glow spilled out.

Soon, the contents were revealed.

[Congratulations to the host for obtaining rewards from a Wooden Chest!]

[Healing Potion ×10]

[Alchemy-based medicine. Significantly more effective than standard medical supplies.]

[Defibrillator ×10]

[If time permits, learning CPR techniques is strongly recommended.]

[Medical kits and bandages × assorted]

[All rewards have been placed into storage. Please check your inventory.]

...

”Evan.”

”Hm?”

Just as Evan was mentally sorting through the medical supplies he’d obtained—

Seele’s voice pulled him back to reality.

”You...”

”You’re not from Jarilo-VI, are you?”

”I’m curious about your origins... and the path you walk.”

Evan turned his head and looked at her, slightly surprised.

This Seele was different from the one he knew.

In the Honkai Impact 3rd universe, Seele was gentle yet resilient—

pure-hearted, capable of restraining the tsundere Dark Seele and the scheming Herrscher of Sentience.

But the Seele standing before him now—

had grown up under the constant threat of the Fragmentum.

She had never known true peace.

Compared to her counterpart, she was far tougher.

”Why ask that all of a sudden?” Evan replied.

”Just curiosity. Back in Rivet Town, the power you used...”

”...”

Evan understood.

In this world, combining Herrscher authority with Path power was undeniably overpowered.

And it was all thanks to the starter chest.

If he’d drawn something else instead, he probably wouldn’t have drawn an Aeon’s attention so early.

Even though his ”charger” hadn’t reached Emanator level yet—

the sight of twelve Thrones of the Moonlight annihilating an entire street of Rivet Town...

That was more than enough to leave an impression.

Seele couldn’t help but think—

If that level of firepower had existed earlier,

the Underworld wouldn’t have lost so many lives.
