Global Survival: I Got the D-Rank Personnel Simulator

”That’s ridiculous? The ridiculous part hasn’t even come yet.”

Lin Ye stood on the abandoned road, speaking to the black-robed figures outside.

”You don’t actually think hiding in there will keep you safe, do you?”

The black-robed figures didn’t enter the World of Ashes; instead, they attacked Lin Ye from outside.

Lin Ye didn’t dodge. His body was sliced into pieces by attacks imbued with rule power.

But those pieces quickly turned into flickering fiery ashes. The ashes reformed, and Lin Ye stood in the same spot as if he’d never been hit, without even moving a step.

”That’s right, I’m perfectly safe hiding here.”

Lin Ye pulled a chair from his loot space, sat down, and took out a book he’d acquired earlier.

”Hmph, this space does have something to it, but this Plane has almost no spiritual energy. If we attack at full force, how long can you hold out?”

One of the black-robed figures instantly saw through Lin Ye’s weakness and sneered disdainfully.”You’re right about that. But before we start fighting, I’d like to chat for a bit. The organization you belong to—it’s the one behind that Fishing Competition, isn’t it? What is Deep Well Substance?”

Lin Ye had developed a slight interest in an organization that could send out six Controllers at once.

The black-robed figures didn’t answer his questions. Instead, they began attacking the World of Ashes, draining his spiritual energy.

It was indeed the best way to deal with Lin Ye. If they entered the World of Ashes, they would have discovered the red sea in its sky.

And that building hidden deep within the sea water.

Along with some other things.

But they overlooked one thing: the purpose of Lin Ye’s visit to this abandoned Plane.

Lin Ye had even specifically warned them about it, but these people were wise enough not to heed an enemy’s advice.

So their time was already running out.

To be precise, the moment they found themselves in the same Plane as Lin Ye, who was carrying the Blessing of the Lord of Emerald Capital, their fate was sealed.

Only a deity could defy a deity’s will. They were merely Controllers, incapable of controlling their own Fate.

By the time Lin Ye had been blown apart a hundred times, the black-robed figures finally realized something was wrong. They turned to look behind them. The world that had been devoid of any life had transformed into something else entirely.

As far as the eye could see, everything was lush green.

Sky-covering plants grew wildly. The vortex in the sky was long gone. Countless humanoid plants stood on either side of the road like attendants, seemingly inviting them to enter the deepest part of this green world.

”I already warned you. I came here to do serious business.”

Lin Ye walked out of the World of Ashes and passed by the black-robed figures.

By now, their bodies were already filled with plant structures. Their bodies and minds were transforming into plants.

”You... came... to...”

The leading black-robed figure barely managed to force out a sound at an agonizingly slow pace.

”The master here invited me to their garden as a guest. You should know who they are.”

Surrounded by those plant people, Lin Ye entered the interior of that lush green world.

After walking only a few hundred meters, a massive passageway made of plants appeared before Lin Ye. The passage’s interior was an unobservable green, with faint spatial fluctuations emanating from around it.

Just as Lin Ye was about to enter the passage, a somewhat cute young girl walked out from inside.

The girl wore a light green trench coat that was slightly too large for her. The coat covered her body, and no other clothing was visible on her.

Her hair was a pale green tinged with gray, the same color as the coat. She was slightly shorter than Lin Ye, and her delicate face displayed a friendly smile.

”Hello?”

Lin Ye wasn’t sure of her identity. He could be said to know absolutely nothing about the Emerald Capital.

”Hello, hello.”

The girl grabbed Lin Ye’s right hand and shook it up and down a couple of times.

”May I ask who you are?”

Lin Ye still didn’t know why the Lord of Emerald Capital had summoned him. Perhaps he could get some information from this girl.

”I am the Lord of Emerald Capital. You can call me Little Green. You seem to like giving friends names like that?”

The Lord of Emerald Capital pulled Lin Ye into the passageway, gripping his right hand as if afraid he would run away.

”...You’re much more friendly than I imagined.”

Lin Ye moved forward stiffly as she pulled him along. He didn’t think anyone would dare impersonate the Lord of Emerald Capital outside the Emerald Capital itself. Even if someone did, they wouldn’t be someone he could afford to offend.

”What do you think a deity is?”

Little Green asked with a smile.

”Someone told me that deities are the beacons of the mental world. I originally thought deities were just living beings strong enough to reach a certain level. But before this, I encountered the corpse of a deity, and now I don’t know what a deity is anymore.”

Lin Ye answered very honestly.

”Deities are the beacons of the mental world. If you can understand what the mental world is, then you’ll understand what a deity is.”

Little Green pulled Lin Ye through the passageway.

On the other side of the passage was a world filled with green vitality. Lin Ye couldn’t understand what that green vitality was, but amidst that expanse of green, there was a courtyard filled with all kinds of colors.

Deep within the courtyard, a lounge chair was placed.

That lounge chair looked strangely familiar to Lin Ye.

”You’d better not pay too much attention to your surroundings. Otherwise, even if I block the influence of those things for you, you’ll still actively establish a connection with this environment.”

Little Green pulled Lin Ye deep into the courtyard. She sat down on the lounge chair, and Lin Ye was pulled down to sit beside her.

”Is there something you need me to do for you?”

Lin Ye forcibly focused his attention on the garden in front of him, but that hint of green vitality kept surfacing in his consciousness.

”Not yet. Do you like plants?”

Little Green sat calmly beside Lin Ye, watching the garden with him.

”Not particularly. I actually don’t like raising animals because they die too easily. Plants are probably a bit better, but I can’t really understand the joy of cultivating plants—as a pleasure beyond food.”

Lin Ye didn’t lie. He didn’t think lying in front of a deity was a wise move.

”What if it’s a plant like me, that can chat with you?”

Little Green asked in a somewhat expectant tone.

”That would be pretty great.”

Some flowers crawled out of the garden. They ran and frolicked around like animals, dragging long Root Tendrils behind them.

”Excellent. Then I’ll take that as your agreement.”

Little Green showed a satisfied expression.

”Can I ask what exactly I’ve agreed to?”

Lin Ye asked calmly.

”Help me take care of this garden for a while. As long as you like plants, no one would refuse this offer, right?”

Little Green answered just as calmly.

”...When you say garden, do you mean this courtyard, or the entire Emerald Capital?”

Lin Ye sighed. He knew that her summoning him couldn’t be for anything good.
