Striker of The Gods

The announcement of Leonor’s pregnancy had already shaken Spain.

Then Rome spoke.

Something was out of hand for Pope Leo.

It took less than forty-eight hours.

Within the Vatican, the matter had been discussed quietly behind closed doors. The pregnancy of the Princess of Asturias was no longer merely a royal family problem, nor was it something that could be contained within the walls of the Palacio de la Zarzuela.

It had become international.

The future Queen of Spain was pregnant. The father was Caos.

Nothing could take them seriously more than the church

They were unmarried.

And the child had already become one of the most politically significant unborn children in Europe.

So when the Holy See finally released its statement through the Dicastery for Communication, the world stopped to read it.

It was not angry. It was not congratulatory.

The thing is, it did not impede the divine intervention of Christ.

It was something far more careful.

Measured.

Pastoral.

And unmistakably Catholic.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE HOLY SEE

”The Holy Father has been informed with deep pastoral concern of the situation involving Her Royal Highness Princess Leonor of Spain.

As Saint Cyril of Alexandria used to say We state’, St Cyril of Alexandria writes, ’that He (Christ) blessed marriage in accordance with the economy ( oikonomia ) by which He became man and went... to the wedding in Cana of Galilee’.

The Church affirms the sanctity of all human life, from conception to natural death. Every child is a gift from God, worthy of love, protection, and dignity. We pray for the health and well-being of the unborn child and for the mother who carries this new life.

At the same time, the Church upholds the sacredness of marriage as the proper context for the full expression of conjugal love and the raising of children. We encourage all parties involved to seek paths of reconciliation, responsibility, and grace. The Holy Father offers his prayers that this situation may be resolved in a manner that honors both the dignity of the child and the stability of the institutions entrusted with the care of the Spanish people.

May Our Lady of Pilar, patroness of Spain, intercede for peace, wisdom, and unity in this delicate moment.”

— Vatican Press Office

The statement spread almost immediately.

Television networks translated it.

Newspapers analyzed every sentence.

Political commentators examined every word.

Religious commentators did the same.

And everyone noticed what the Vatican had not said.

It had not condemned Leonor. It had not condemned Caos.

For it carried more meaning than the common thought that it meant nothing to the common eye.

It had not called the unborn child illegitimate. It had not demanded that Leonor surrender her position.

But neither had it blessed the situation.

The Church had managed to place the child beneath the protection of human dignity while simultaneously reminding Spain that, according to Catholic teaching, marriage remained the proper foundation for family life.

It was a carefully constructed statement.

The kind written by people who understood that a single sentence could create a political crisis.

Behind the public language, however, there was concern.

Spain was not simply another country.

It was one of Europe’s oldest Catholic monarchies.

Its royal family carried historical, cultural, and religious symbolism far beyond the actual political powers granted to the Crown.

And now the future Queen was expecting a child outside marriage.

The Vatican understood what that could become.

A theological debate.A constitutional debate.

However, the aspect of living could barely understand him.

A cultural debate.

And eventually, perhaps, a question about the monarchy itself.

The statement gave everyone room.

But it also reminded everyone that the Church was watching.

REACTIONS WITHIN THE PALACIO REAL

King Felipe read the statement in his study.

The room was quiet.

Queen Sofía sat nearby.

Several senior advisers stood around the table, each holding either a printed copy or a tablet displaying the Vatican’s announcement.

Felipe looked exhausted.

He had spent days dealing with politicians, journalists, constitutional lawyers, foreign governments, members of the royal household, and people who seemed to believe that shouting loudly enough constituted political analysis.

He finally placed the document on the table.

”Even the Holy Father is watching.”

Nobody answered.

Felipe rubbed his eyes.

”They are giving us room to maneuver.”

He looked again at the statement.

”But the message is clear.”

Queen Sofía already knew what he meant.

”The Church would prefer marriage,” Felipe said. ”Legitimacy. Stability.”

One adviser shifted uncomfortably.

”Your Majesty, the wording leaves considerable discretion.”

Felipe gave him a tired look.

”That is precisely why it matters.”

Sofía looked toward her son.

”Leonor will not be forced.”

Felipe turned toward her.

”Mother—”

”No.”

Her voice remained soft.

But there was no uncertainty in it.

”Not by us. Not by Rome.”

The room became silent.

Queen Sofía continued.

”Whatever happens now, she is still our daughter.”

Felipe looked down.

For several seconds he said nothing.

Then:

”I know.”

He did know.

That was the problem.

Knowing that Leonor was his daughter made the matter personal.Knowing that she was the future Queen of Spain made it political.

All this audience replaced the world and the noise of social media.

And knowing that an entire country was watching made every decision dangerous.

Across the room, Princess Sofía stood slightly apart from the others.

She read the statement on her tablet.

Her face revealed almost nothing.

Finally she spoke.

”The Vatican has given us moral cover.”

Everyone looked at her.

Sofía continued.

”If Leonor refuses to marry or formalize the situation through the channels the Church considers appropriate, the statement gives the Cortes something to point toward.”

Felipe’s expression hardened.

”The Cortes doesn’t need permission.”

”No.”

Sofía looked up.

”But they need justification.”

Nobody spoke.

She continued.

”The Church has avoided attacking Leonor directly. That was deliberate.”

Felipe nodded slowly.

”And that means?”

”It means Rome has left the decision in our hands.”

She looked toward the window.

”But if this becomes a constitutional confrontation, their silence could become louder than their statement.”

That sentence remained in the room.

Nobody liked it.

Because everyone understood.

LEONOR

Leonor read the statement alone.

She sat beside the window in her chambers.

One hand rested gently against her stomach.

The other held her phone.

She read the Vatican statement again.

And again.

Her eyes eventually stopped moving.

Tears had already begun falling.

She wiped them away.

Then another tear came.

She didn’t bother wiping that one.

She wasn’t crying because the Vatican had insulted her.

In some strange way, that would have been easier.

They had done something more complicated. They had spoken about her child with love.

That loving should be taken seriously.

They had spoken about marriage. They had spoken about responsibility.

For the worst illness is indiference.

They had spoken about Spain.

And Leonor understood exactly what that meant.

Her child had become an argument.

A symbol.A question.

He carried more than Caos and her in those veins.

For he carried that infinite love and comprehension of power and harmony.

A problem to be solved.

She looked down.

Her hand moved gently across her belly.

”Listen to me.”

Her voice trembled.

”They can argue about crowns.”

She took a breath.

”They can argue about laws.”

Another breath.

”They can argue about the Church.”

Her expression hardened.

”But you are not an argument.”

She closed her eyes.

”They speak of sanctity and grace...”

Her voice became quieter.

”But they don’t know what it means to carry the child of the only man who ever made me feel truly free.”

She looked toward the window.

Madrid stretched beyond it.

The city continued moving.

People were going to work.

Children were going to school.

Cars were moving through the streets.

And somewhere out there, millions of people were discussing her unborn child.

Leonor placed both hands over her stomach.

”I will not hide you.”

A pause.

”I will not apologize for you.”

Her jaw tightened.

”If the Church, the Cortes, or even my own family asks me to choose between love and duty again...”

She looked down.

”I’ll choose you.”

Her voice became almost a whisper.

”Every time.”

She picked up her phone.

There was only one person she wanted to speak to.

Caos.

She forwarded the Vatican statement.

Then she typed.

Leonor:

The world is watching us now.

Even Rome has spoken.

She stopped.

Deleted the next sentence.

Typed another.

I am not sorry for carrying our child.

She stared at the screen.

Then continued.

I am only sorry that our love has become a crisis for so many thrones.

She pressed send.

THE MANSION GARDEN

Caos was sitting in the garden when the message arrived.

The evening air was cool.

The garden was quiet.

The three maids were nearby.

Zeraphina noticed Caos looking at his phone.

”What is it?”

Caos didn’t answer immediately.

He read the Vatican statement.

Then Leonor’s message.

His expression changed.

Not anger.

Something deeper.

He placed the phone down.

For several seconds he simply stared at the garden.

Then he laughed softly.

”Even the Vatican feels the need to comment on my child.”

The three maids looked at him.

Caos picked up the phone again.

”They speak of grace.”

His eyes narrowed.

”Legitimacy.”

He shook his head.

”Stability.”

He leaned back against the stone bench.

”But I speak of freedom.”

Zeraphina watched him carefully.

”The Church, Spain, Russia, America...”

She paused.

”They all want a piece of this child now.”

Caos looked at her.

”The game has grown far beyond football.”

”Yes.”

He stood.

Slowly.

His violet eyes seemed brighter than before.

”Then let them play.”

The three maids remained silent.

Caos looked toward the darkening sky.

He understood something now.

For years, football had been the battlefield.

Goals.

Championships.

Records.

Rivalries.

Countries.

But this was different.

This wasn’t about winning a match.

This was about protecting something that had no ability to protect itself yet.

His child.

His blood.

Leonor’s blood.

Two families.

Two worlds.

And now every institution wanted a say in what that child would become.

Caos smiled.

”I will keep scoring.”

His voice was calm.

”I will keep breaking limits.”

He looked toward the horizon.

”And when this child is born...”

His violet eyes hardened.

”They will inherit a father who refused to let any institution define their worth.”

He paused.

”Not a crown.”

Another pause.

”Not a parliament.”

Then his smile returned.

”Not even the Church.”

Zeraphina looked at him.

”You know this is going to get worse.”

Caos laughed.

”I know.”

”Politicians will interfere.”

”I know.”

”People will question Leonor.”

”I know.”

”They will question you.”

”I know.”

”And the child.”

Caos’s expression became still.

That one mattered.

He looked down at his hands.

Then toward the place where Leonor was.

”They can question me.”

His voice was quieter now.

”They can question everything I’ve ever done.”

He looked up.

”But they don’t get to question whether my child deserves to be loved.”

The garden became silent.

One of the maids lowered her head.

Zeraphina smiled faintly.

The situation had become larger than anyone had expected.

Football had opened the door.

The monarchy had stepped through it.

Politics had followed.

Now religion had entered the room.

And somewhere in the middle of it all was an unborn child who had already become a symbol before even taking a breath.

Caos looked at the night sky.

He thought about Leonor.

About their future.

About the child.

And about the strange irony of it all.

He had spent his entire life trying to conquer the world of football.

Now the world was trying to decide what kind of father he was allowed to be.

He smiled.

”Let them watch.”

His voice carried through the garden.

”I have nothing to hide.”

THE NEXT MORNING

The Vatican statement was still dominating headlines the following morning.

But something else had changed.

The conversation was no longer simply:

Should Leonor marry Caos?

It had become:

Who has the right to decide the future of the child?

That question was far more dangerous.

Because there was no simple answer.

The Crown had its traditions. The Cortes had its constitutional authority.

The Church had its doctrine.

The public had its expectations.

Leonor had her own will.

And Caos had already made his position clear.

The child would not be born into shame.

The child would be born into the storm.

And the storm was growing.

The Vatican had spoken.

Spain had listened.

Europe had noticed.

The royal household was preparing for another battle.

Leonor was preparing to become a mother.

Caos was preparing to defend a family that had barely begun.

And somewhere inside Leonor’s womb, unaware of crowns, churches, parliaments, headlines, football, diplomacy, and the arguments of millions of adults—

a tiny life continued growing.

Quietly.

Patiently.

As though the world outside did not matter.

Yet.

The violet storm was no longer only about Caos.

It was carrying the future of two bloodlines.

And soon, the entire world would have to decide what to do with it.
