I, a Demonic Nascent Soul Patriarch, Begin by Snatching a Cheat

Green Immortal Valley.

This place was one of the boundary points between the Abyssal Sea allied forces and the Northern Heaven Alliance’s defensive line. Originally a vast, open valley, it was surrounded by lush green mountains, brimming with spiritual energy—truly a blessed land.

But now, only desolation remained.

The air was thick with the intense stench of blood and the acrid smell of scorched earth. The ground was pitted and uneven, covered in charred marks and deep craters left by magical attacks. Broken magical artifacts lay scattered about, abandoned and unclaimed.

In the sky, warships from the Abyssal Sea allied forces and the Lingchuan continent’s combined fleet intermingled in a dense, chaotic mass. Wave after wave of spiritual light blasted from the warships’ hulls, striking at the enemy. Layer upon layer of defensive formations flickered to life, spiritual light flashing, blocking the lethal attacks.

Countless spiritual lights flared as cultivators unleashed spells and magic tools, locked in fierce aerial combat. The screams, explosions, and clashing of magic tools intertwined, deafening and earth-shattering. Ripples of magical power spread outward, churning the already shattered valley into even greater chaos.

Hundreds of miles away, at a height of ten thousand feet.

Over a dozen Early Nascent Soul cultivators were locked in a chaotic battle. On one side was the Abyssal Sea allied forces, on the other, the Lingchuan combined forces.

At first, the two sides traded blows evenly. The Abyssal Sea Nascent Soul cultivators, veterans of constant warfare, had richer combat experience and more versatile techniques, gradually gaining the upper hand. At this rate, victory was only a matter of time.

But with the addition of a cyan-clad figure from the Lingchuan combined forces, the situation instantly reversed.

That figure was a cultivator who appeared to be quite young, in the Early Nascent Soul stage. His features were proper, neither handsome nor ugly. He wore a flowing cyan robe, his aura steady, yet his attacks were exceptionally fierce.

The moment he appeared, he struck with lightning speed, unleashing a blazing flame. The flame’s power was astonishing, effortlessly dismantling a technique from Righteous Path cultivator Ghost Granny.

Before Ghost Granny could react, the blazing flame transformed into a fire dragon, instantly engulfing her.

The fire dragon writhed, flames leaping skyward.

Ghost Granny struggled in the inferno for a few moments before falling silent. Even her Nascent Soul failed to escape. She was utterly devoured by the flames, leaving not even ashes behind.

The battlefield fell into a dead silence.

The Abyssal Sea crowd stared in shock. After witnessing this cultivator take down Ghost Granny in an instant, a flicker of retreat crept into their eyes.

They all knew that Ghost Granny was no weakling among them—she had been renowned for years with strange, devious techniques. Even if this youth had caught her off guard and struck by surprise, being able to kill an Early Nascent Soul cultivator so cleanly was proof that he was no ordinary opponent.

Seeing this, how could the other Nascent Soul cultivators of Lingchong Continent miss this opportunity? They relentlessly unleashed spells and magic tools, pressing their advantage tightly, leaving the Abyssal Sea group no room to retreat.

”Ha ha ha! Fellow Daoist Ye, excellent work!”

One Nascent Soul cultivator from the Lingchuan combined forces roared with laughter, his fighting spirit reigniting.

”Let these foreigners from the outer sea taste the power of us Lingchuan people!”

On the Abyssal Sea side, the Blood Withered old monk’s face darkened. Over a dozen crimson blood beads orbited around him, emitting faint bloody light, yet he dared not make a rash move.

Just then, the cyan-robed youth’s figure suddenly vanished.

The next instant, he appeared a hundred yards away. With a flick of his hand, dozens of golden flying swords materialized, encircling him, their tips all pointing at the Blood Withered old monk.

”Go.”

The cyan-robed youth said lightly.

Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh! The dozens of golden flying swords shot through the air, carving dozens of blinding golden trails as they howled toward the Blood Withered old monk.

The Blood Withered old monk’s expression shifted. He raised his hand and thrust it forward. The blood beads floating around him instantly expanded to the size of a zhang, surging to meet the attack.

The golden flying swords and the blood beads collided in midair.

Spiritual light exploded, fragments flying everywhere, instantly covering the battlefield before the Blood Withered old monk’s eyes.

The Blood Withered old monk felt the pressure ease—had he effortlessly blocked this attack?

His divine sense locked onto the front, not daring to relax in the slightest. Yet after a long while, amid the smoke and dust, the opponent showed no movement at all.

Just as he was inwardly puzzled—

Before the blast’s aftermath had fully dissipated, a streak of cyan light suddenly burst out from within!

Following it were the dozens of golden long swords. They rapidly spun around the cyan light, forming a massive golden sword top. It was incredibly fast, its offensive fierce, bearing down directly on the Blood Withered old monk.

The Blood Withered old monk’s heart was seized with terror. He hadn’t sensed it at all, which meant his opponent’s divine sense was far superior to his own!

He had no time to think. He quickly raised his hand and waved. A golden cloth appeared before him, expanding with the wind to dozens of zhang in size. The cloth’s surface was densely covered with runes, spiritual light flowing—clearly a high-quality defensive ancient relic.

The golden sword top and the golden cloth collided with a thunderous crash.

Waves of terrifying might radiated across the surrounding battlefield, causing other Nascent Soul old freaks to glance over for a split second before quickly looking away—no one dared to be distracted for long in a battle of this level.

The golden cloth held out for only a few breaths before being sliced clean through by the golden sword top.

The Blood Withered old monk coughed up a mouthful of blood, his body flying backward, his face deathly pale.

The youth pressed his advantage without mercy, hovering in midair, his expression still calm. He gently pointed a finger in the direction of the Blood Withered old monk, golden light swirling at his fingertip.

Before him, the dozens of golden long swords abruptly merged into a single massive golden sword beam, imbued with killing intent, hurtling straight down toward the Blood Withered old monk.

Wherever the sword beam passed, the air was torn apart, emitting a piercing shriek.

The Blood Withered old monk’s face was filled with despair. He raised his hand, a colorful light pointing toward his own forehead, ready to release his Nascent Soul.

Just at that critical moment.

In the distant sky, a bone-chilling cold descended from above.

That cold was so intense it far surpassed that of any Nascent Soul old freak present. Wherever it passed, the air condensed into frost, and even the low-level cultivators on the battlefield below couldn’t help but shiver.

Close behind it came a streak of golden light.

That golden light flew in from the distance, growing larger and larger. In the blink of an eye, it had transformed into a hundred-zhang-tall golden fire spiritual mountain, steadily placing itself in front of the Blood Withered old monk.

The youth’s massive golden sword beam struck the small mountain, producing a harsh metallic clang as sparks flew everywhere.

But the surface of the small mountain didn’t even have a scratch left behind.

A flicker of surprise crossed the youth’s eyes. He quickly looked up, cyan light flashing in his gaze as he fully extended his divine sense.

In the distant sky, a pitch-black streak of light was speeding toward this direction. In just a few breaths, it had arrived above the crowd.

That streak of light descended vertically. Within it, a faint figure could be seen standing with hands clasped behind the back, falling from the sky, carving a straight line of bluish-green light.

The streak of light dissipated.

An elderly man with a sinister appearance stood calmly, his figure straight, slowly landing atop that golden fire spiritual mountain relic.

A wave of pitch-black magical energy radiated from beneath his feet, spreading in all directions. The imposing aura of a Mid-Nascent Soul cultivator was released without restraint, pressing down on everyone present, making their hearts sink.

”Fellow Daoist Jiuyou!”

A flash of post-survival relief crossed the Blood Withered old monk’s face, his voice trembling.

The others’ gazes also turned. When the Abyssal Sea crowd saw Jiuyou’s face, expressions of surprise and delight appeared one after another. Reinforcements had arrived, and they were a Mid-Nascent Soul cultivator!

But the Lingchuan crowd furrowed their brows, their expressions dark. They hadn’t expected the enemy’s reinforcements to come so quickly, and to be a Mid-Nascent Soul powerhouse.

Jiuyou cast a faint glance at the Blood Withered monk, nodded slightly, and said nothing.

His gaze swept across the entire battlefield in an instant, locking directly onto the most threatening target—that cyan-robed youth.

A ghostly light flashed in his eyes, and his divine sense shot out like a blade, breaking through the opponent’s divine sense defenses without any attempt to hide, sizing him up from head to toe.

The youth felt his sea of consciousness shake violently. His figure staggered, and he subconsciously pressed a hand to his forehead.

In that moment of distraction.

Jiuyou’s figure had already appeared right before him, close at hand.

He raised his hand slightly.

In an instant, the world behind him was shrouded in a mass of bluish-green mist, blotting out the sun. One after another, cyan chains burst forth from within, covering the sky and the earth, dancing wildly in the air, emitting crisp, clinking sounds like vengeful ghosts demanding souls.

The youth’s face was filled with shock. Without a moment’s hesitation, he formed hand seals and rapidly retreated. At the same time, he recalled the dozens of golden long swords, weaving them into an impenetrable sword net around his body to protect himself thoroughly.

Jiuyou looked down at the youth with a calm, detached gaze.

He slowly raised his hand and pressed it gently in the opponent’s direction.

In an instant, thousands of cyan chains shot forth like bluish-green wandering dragons, carrying a bone-piercing chill and blazing fierce flames, with an unstoppable momentum, tearing toward the youth.

The chill arrived before the chains.

The youth’s face was deathly pale. His hand seals shifted repeatedly, and the golden sword net spun wildly, trying to resist.

But in his pupils, the overwhelming cyan was getting closer and closer.

Closer and closer.
