I, a Demonic Nascent Soul Patriarch, Begin by Snatching a Cheat

That blue light spot reached Jiuyou in the blink of an eye.

It was so fast that even his Divine Sense couldn’t lock onto it, as if it had transcended spatial barriers and materialized out of thin air before him. The light was blindingly intense, illuminating the entire battlefield and enveloping everyone in that cold blue glow.

Everyone’s peripheral vision involuntarily turned toward that light spot.

Every single person was horrified by the overwhelming wave of spiritual energy, a power that seemed capable of annihilating them at any moment. Such force was beyond anything they had ever heard of, leaving them completely bewildered as to what was happening. Many felt a surge of despair, their faces turning deathly pale.

Boom—!

Just as that light spot was about to strike Jiuyou, a flash of white jade light erupted from his body.

The light wrapped around him entirely, and faintly, the silhouette of a shell emerged above the glow—it was the Jade Spirit Carapace he had already refined and worn close to his body.

But the attack was ferocious, and Jiuyou was still sent flying backward. However, the instant the Jade Spirit Carapace’s defense clashed with that blue light spot, he gained a brief moment to catch his breath.

He poured all his mana into the Jade Spirit Carapace and quickly activated the white-jade bottle. The white-jade bottle expanded to the size of a person, flickering in and out of visibility as it formed layers of spiritual light before him, blocking a significant portion of the impact.

The next moment, Jiuyou’s figure was sent hurtling backward amid an explosive roar, slamming violently into a massive reef hundreds of feet away.

As he crashed, a thunderous sound erupted, dust billowing, and debris scattering in all directions.

For dozens of miles around, whether cultivator or beast, almost everyone was sent flying by the blast wave. Some suffered severe injuries, while others were instantly obliterated on the spot—their bodies shattered and their souls scattered.

Screams of agony echoed across the entire battlefield.

Jiuyou crawled out of the rubble, looking utterly disheveled.

He felt as if his internal organs had been jarred painfully by the impact. Even with the Jade Spirit Carapace and white-jade bottle shielding him and blocking most of the attack, he was still badly wounded. His body bore multiple injuries, his robes were torn, and his hair was disheveled, making him look thoroughly pathetic.

A tenth-level great beast.

That attack just now had definitely come from a tenth-level great beast, a premeditated full-power strike. Without that Jade Spirit Carapace, he would have been dead beyond any doubt by now, and even his Nascent Soul might not have escaped.

Jiuyou’s expression darkened, his mind churning.

The gap between a Mid-Nascent Soul cultivator and a tenth-level great beast was truly like the distance between heaven and earth. This was not something he could contend with—absolutely not.

He secretly channeled his mana, and his Divine Sense instantly enveloped an area of three hundred miles, searching for the source of the attack. The Hundred-Mile Inch Hairpin in his hand was already glowing with spiritual light, ready to be activated at any moment.

Once he located the direction of the attack, he would waste no time in deploying this ancient relic and teleporting far away.

As for the cultivators on this defensive line who were fighting desperately for humanity, they had nothing to do with him. He had no intention of caring about them, nor did he have the ability to do so.

Even if the Three Alliance Council questioned him afterward, he would have his own excuses ready.

After all, as long as the green mountain remains, one need not worry about firewood.

The moment Jiuyou’s figure emerged from the smoke, countless cultivators’ eyes turned to him. Their gazes were filled with terror and urgency.

Jiuyou was the highest-ranked cultivator on this front, the backbone of all the cultivators on this line—a Mid-Nascent Soul powerhouse whose name resounded throughout the Abyssal Sea.

When they saw that Jiuyou could still stand, shock filled their eyes.

What amazed them was that this Ancestor of Soul Wraith had actually survived that world-shattering attack. His true strength was likely far beyond any rumor they had ever heard.

At the same time, they were even more horrified: what kind of terrifying beast could unleash such a devastating assault? With just one blow, it had nearly shattered the body of a Mid-Nascent Soul great cultivator and almost killed him.

What kind of fearsome existence could that be?

Just as Jiuyou caught his breath.

Suddenly.

A colossal water tornado descended from the sky.

The water tornado tore across the horizon, standing nearly a thousand feet tall like a pillar connecting heaven and earth. The sea was churned into chaos, waves surging skyward, and countless cultivators and beasts were sent staggering, their footing lost.

Those closer, or with weaker cultivation, were directly sucked into the water tornado, where countless water blades shredded their bodies into powder.

Blood mixed with the seawater, staining the ocean surface and the tornado itself a crimson red. The pungent smell of blood assaulted their noses, nauseating and repulsive.

Within the water tornado, a massive figure flickered in and out of view.

The figure was enormous, at least a hundred feet tall, its body wrapped in deep blue water ripples, like an ancient demon-god emerging from the deepest abyss. A pair of blood-red vertical pupils swept coldly across the entire scene, and wherever that gaze fell, no one dared to meet it.

An earth-shattering aura radiated from that figure.

It was pure, unadulterated killing intent.

Mountainous, abyssal, hellish.

It pressed down on everyone, making it impossible to breathe, their very souls trembling.

“Run! It’s a tenth-level great beast!”

Someone shouted, their voice filled with utter despair.

No sooner had the words left their mouth than countless cultivators transformed into streaks of spiritual light, doing everything possible to flee from the towering tornado that loomed between heaven and earth.

In that instant, concepts like the defensive line, the Three Alliance Council, and the righteousness of humanity all became jokes in the face of such an existence. The only thought that mattered was survival.

Jiuyou sensed the massive figure within the water tornado.

Those scarlet, blood-red pupils were fixed firmly on him.

He didn’t hesitate for a second.

Gritting his teeth, a drop of Essence Blood floated out from his forehead and dripped directly onto the Hundred-Mile Inch Hairpin. Endless dark mana churned and compressed within his body, surging like a broken dam, pouring entirely into the inch hairpin.

The next moment, Jiuyou’s figure transformed into a streak of green light, vanishing from his spot in the blink of an eye.

Jiuyou looked up.

He felt as if he had entered a strange green space.

Around him, ripples undulated, faintly exuding traces of spatial energy similar to the teleportation array on Heavenly Abyss Mountain back then. He tried to take a step forward.

Instantly, all the green ripples around him rapidly receded.

Light and shadow flowed.

Jiuyou’s figure had suddenly appeared above an island three hundred miles away.

“So this is teleportation…”

Jiuyou was deeply shaken. Sensing the Essence Blood he had consumed, he furrowed his brow. His Divine Sense swept backward, catching a distant glimpse of the massive water tornado still raging.

The tenth-level great beast didn’t seem to be pursuing him.

But Jiuyou didn’t dare let his guard down.

He took a deep breath and was about to activate the Hundred-Mile Inch Hairpin again—

At that moment.

A flash of purple light arrived from the distant horizon.

Then came a cold snort. The sound was not loud, but it struck like thunder, echoing across the entire world.

“Beast, don’t be so arrogant!”

The purple light streaked across the sky, its momentum like a rainbow, heading straight for the water tornado.

Jiuyou’s gaze sharpened as he recognized the owner of that purple light.

Grand Elder of Endless Island, Gu Xuanzhou.

Late Nascent Soul. A grand cultivator.

He had finally arrived.
