Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1258: Chapter 1257: The Appearance of a Formidable Enemy

”Courting death!”

Seeing Elder Tu blocking his path, Ling Chen’s eyes suddenly turned cold. He tightly gripped the Red Sky Sword with his right hand and beckoned with his left into the air. The Thunder Sound Sword flew into his grasp. With twin swords in hand, the sword lights seamlessly intertwined in Ling Chen’s hands, shattering the scorching meteor fist energy into powder.

In the blink of an eye, Ling Chen was already in front of Elder Tu.

”Not good!”

Elder Tu finally realized the severity of the situation; his strength was severely compromised. Not only could he not deal with Ling Chen, but he also couldn’t withstand his onslaught!

In the blink of an eye, the twin swords in Ling Chen’s hands had reached Elder Tu, both swords slashing out in a cross, directly aiming for Elder Tu’s throat!

The intense sense of crisis surged, and Elder Tu was about to block Ling Chen’s sword light with his hand. However, with a mere crack, his right arm was suddenly sliced away, and blood sprayed out uncontrollably.

With a scream, a look of terror suddenly appeared on Elder Tu’s face, pale as death. He never imagined, even in his wildest dreams, that Ling Chen would have the ability to sever one of his arms!

”You little brat, stop it immediately!”

Seeing Elder Tu trapped, Elder Xi also shouted angrily at Ling Chen, like a thunderclap, ”If you dare kill Elder Tu, you are absolutely becoming a mortal enemy of our Desolate Fire City, fighting to the death.”

”If I let this old man go, would Desolate Fire City and I not be mortal enemies?”

Ling Chen directly ignored Elder Xi’s warning, and with a swing of the Red Sky Sword, ”crack,” he severed Elder Tu’s left hand again.

”You little brat, I will dismember you!”

Elder Tu’s eyes bulged as if possessed. Being continuously severed of his arms was a destructive blow to him; his strength would be greatly diminished, and even if recovered, he would lose thirty to forty percent of his power.

With his declining strength, his status in Desolate Fire City would undoubtedly be significantly affected.

”Let’s see if you can save your life first.”

Ling Chen’s eyes were cold, and his hand did not pause as he suddenly thrust towards Elder Tu’s chest. With a ”thud,” the sword pierced the position of Elder Tu’s heart.

Protective True Qi couldn’t withstand Ling Chen for a moment, and it was forcibly pierced through. Elder Tu’s body was penetrated with a bloody hole, his eyes wide open, and before he could react further, Ling Chen waved the Red Sky Sword with his other hand, decapitating Elder Tu.

With a ”bang,” his body fell to the ground.

Even upon his death, he didn’t expect Ling Chen would actually dare to kill him.

”You little brat, you dared to kill Elder Tu!”

Elder Xi glanced at the lifeless Elder Tu lying on the ground, his face immediately turning grim to the extreme. Elder Tu was a core elder of Desolate Fire City, with a revered status, but to think Ling Chen killed him, causing Desolate Fire City to lose a major pillar, was a tremendous blow.

Ling Chen’s face was expressionless as he nonchalantly said, ”What, is it wrong that this old dog blocked my way and sought his death? How can you blame me?”

”You little brat, you are finished. Saint Qian Yan already wanted your life, and now you’ve killed Elder Tu. This blood feud is unbreakable. If we don’t dismember you, how will Desolate Fire City hold its place in the Nine Province Sect Realm?!”

Elder Xi’s eyes were grim, shouting with hypocrisy.

”Oh, really? Since we’re already at this point of no return, why not kill you too?”

Ling Chen’s eyes filled with a new wave of killing intent, and then he activated his Sword Intent again, preparing to attack Elder Xi.

Now he was no longer a soft target to be pushed around. Since the people of Desolate Fire City wanted him dead, it was better to settle it once and for all, eliminating them entirely. Killing one more meant removing another enemy, another threat to himself.

”You little brat, how dare you?”

Elder Xi was shocked, but at that moment, a very old and powerful voice suddenly came from outside the passage, ”Truly a brazen boy! We hadn’t settled the matter of Yuwen Lin with you, and now you dare to kill an elder of Desolate Fire City? Truly courting death!”

Just as the words fell, an elderly figure walked into view from the passage outside; it was none other than Saint Qian Yan, the Third Elder of Desolate Fire City.

”Third Elder, you’re finally here!”

Seeing Saint Qian Yan appear, Elder Xi’s face immediately showed a trace of surprise. He had been worried whether he could withstand Ling Chen, but now that the Third Elder was here, Ling Chen was surely doomed!

”How is this old man also here?”

Ling Chen frowned. The others from Desolate Fire City weren’t a threat, but Saint Qian Yan was different. He was a genuine middle-rank saint with cultivation at the peak of the Fourth Level of Saint Dao, almost reaching the Fifth Level. His strength wasn’t much inferior to Shen Bingxin, and such an opponent’s power was undoubtedly terrifying, the disparity too vast, even in the state of Ancient Saint King Battle Technique, it was a hard gap to bridge.

Elder Xi shouted, ”Third Elder! No need to talk to him, quickly kill him to avenge Junior Brother Yuwen and Elder Tu!”

”Rest assured, since this kid has bumped into me, he won’t escape.”

In Saint Qian Yan’s eyes, an icy glint flashed. As he took a step forward, a layer of black True Qi flames suddenly spread from within him, transforming into a fiery ring, sweeping out, his hand clenching as the black True Qi flames frenziedly spread, forming four firewalls completely sealing Ling Chen’s surroundings.

Seeing that all around was sealed off, Ling Chen promptly drew his sword, slashing at the firewall. However, the slash achieved no result, not even creating a crack.

Bam!

Suddenly, one of the firewalls split open, and Saint Qian Yan’s figure appeared, delivering a palm strike towards Ling Chen from a distance, its fiery power trailing invisibly, striking Ling Chen’s back with a speed too quick for his reaction.

The Protective True Qi was utterly unable to block the powerful palm, Ling Chen felt his organs shift instantly, his spinal bones breaking, spewing a mouthful of blood with pieces of internal organs as he suffered unprecedented trauma, any ordinary Half-Saint or even Early Stage Saint would undoubtedly die from such a blow.

Taking advantage of the gap while Saint Qian Yan was attacking, when his control over the firewall weakened momentarily, Ling Chen forcefully broke through, darting violently out of the chamber.

”Hmm, not dead?”

A palm strike hitting surely, Saint Qian Yan thought Ling Chen would be dead, yet unexpectedly Ling Chen survived, immediately pursuing him with activated movement technique. Seeing Ling Chen still escaping rapidly, his face darkened. This brat was surprisingly tenacious, usually withstanding more than ordinary Early Stage Saints.
