Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1231: Chapter 1230: Is There Poison in the Wine?

”Please sit.”

Empress Yun Yao did not rise, her voice like a silver bell rang out again, reaching Ling Chen’s ears as though a fragrant breeze had passed.

”Yes.”

Ling Chen cupped his hands, then promptly sat down on a wooden chair nearby.

”I wonder what important matter has brought Your Majesty to summon me here?”

Ling Chen couldn’t help but ask.

Seeing Empress Yun Yao’s demeanor made him somewhat uneasy; it was best to quickly complete the task and leave this palace.

Empress Yun Yao looked at Ling Chen with a gentle smile, softly saying, ”Summoning you to the palace naturally involves a very important affair, an opportunity of a lifetime that, if accomplished, will bring you endless benefits.”

Upon hearing this, Ling Chen’s eyes couldn’t help but light up slightly. An opportunity of a lifetime with endless benefits? He would like to hear more.

”First, have a cup of tea.”

With a wave of her jade hand, Empress Yun Yao sent a golden goblet flying from a short distance away, gliding toward Ling Chen’s location.

Inside the golden goblet, it was filled with crimson liquid.

Ling Chen lifted the golden goblet to his lips, and an incredibly rich aroma suddenly hit his nose, flooding into his body through his nostrils.

Instantly, he felt refreshed and invigorated, as if the True Qi within his Dantian had become slightly denser.

Just then, Empress Yun Yao spoke, ”This is Jade Liquid, crafted with hundreds of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures, not only incomparably fragrant but also able to increase cultivation upon consumption.”

”Indeed, it is a royal treasure.”

Ling Chen nodded, then without hesitation, gulped down the crimson liquid from the golden goblet.

In an instant, a stream of pure energy spread inside his body like a river, quickly flowing through all his meridians, bringing a warm sensation throughout his body.

This item truly was Jade Liquid, rare in the world.

However, as Ling Chen drank the Jade Liquid, a barely noticeable smile flashed across Empress Yun Yao’s lips.

”How is it?”

The smile was fleeting, and Empress Yun Yao softly asked.

”It is indeed a good thing, thank Your Majesty for the generous gift.” Ling Chen nodded, cupping his fists.

”Since it is good, have a little more.”

Empress Yun Yao waved her jade hand, sending another goblet to Ling Chen.

Without refusal, Ling Chen once again drank it all at once.

After three goblets, Ling Chen indeed felt the True Qi inside him becoming more abundant, even though he had just broken through to the Sky Apex Realm Ninth Level, it seemed more stabilized.

This thing, a single goblet was worth quite a bit, Empress Yun Yao was unusually generous with him today, pouring Jade Liquid as if it were free.

After drinking quite a bit, Ling Chen felt a surge of heat rising within, and after inhaling the scent of the Empress’s Palace, this heat seemed to intensify and grow stronger.

”Could it be that I’ve drunk too much, the medicinal power is too potent?”

Ling Chen felt a slight shock, thinking that consuming too many tonics could be overwhelming, especially something made from hundreds of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures like Jade Liquid?

At that moment, the beads curtain in front was lifted, and a graceful figure approached, it was Empress Yun Yao, who had stepped down from the Star Emperor Dragon Bed and moved toward him.

”Ling Chen, I heard you’ve been quite fond of the Xuantian Saintess from the Great Mysterious Heavenly Dao on Spirit Mountain lately.”

Empress Yun Yao’s voice was extraordinarily soft and pleasant, evidently different from usual, ”I remember you said that once you had your fiancée, you wouldn’t pursue other women, right?”

Ling Chen shook his head, ”To be honest with Your Majesty, the Xuannv is actually my fiancée.”

”Oh?”

Empress Yun Yao raised an eyebrow slightly, ”You say Xuannv is your fiancée? How is that possible?”

”Perhaps Your Majesty wouldn’t believe me, but this is indeed the case.”

Ling Chen smiled bitterly, ”Once I’ve clarified the whole story, and the truth is revealed, Your Majesty will naturally understand.”

”Alright, since you are so certain, I choose to trust you.”

Empress Yun Yao’s gaze remained on Ling Chen, yet she felt some doubt in her heart; by now, the effect of the potion should have taken hold, but why did Ling Chen still appear perfectly normal?

”Why is it so warm in this palace?”

Ling Chen’s face was flushed with red, his inner Qi and blood rushing, and a swell of heat was continuously expanding in his lower abdomen, making him increasingly excited.

He was beginning to experience slight hallucinations.

”Is it finally taking effect?”

At this moment, Empress Yun Yao’s lips curved slightly, in the Jade Liquid Ling Chen had consumed, she had added a considerable amount of specially crafted Love Intoxicated Powder, and even the most virtuous men would lose their composure and transform into ravenous beasts.

Ling Chen had not yet reached the level of a Saint in cultivation and couldn’t possibly resist the potency of the Love Intoxicated Powder.

Everything was within her calculation.

”Ling Chen, what’s wrong with you?”

Empress Yun Yao’s beautiful face showed a smile, as she slowly approached Ling Chen, her jade hand secretly drawing him closer, causing his body to automatically lean toward her, and she wrapped him in her arms.

”Perhaps the medicinal power of the Jade Liquid is too overbearing, my body seems unable to cope.”

Ling Chen shook his head, however, upon inhaling Empress Yun Yao’s delicate fragrance and amidst the skin-to-skin contact with her, the hallucination grew stronger.

”Why don’t you rest a bit on the Star Emperor Dragon Bed?”

Seamlessly, Empress Yun Yao took Ling Chen to the Star Emperor Dragon Bed, this move startled him slightly, ”This may not be appropriate!”

The Star Emperor Dragon Bed is an imperial exclusive; how could others casually sit on it?

However, before he could say more, a sudden force was released from Empress Yun Yao’s lotus-like arm, pushing Ling Chen onto the Dragon Bed.

”Your Majesty, what are you doing?”

Ling Chen was extremely shocked, yet he found himself completely powerless, suddenly realizing that the Jade Liquid given to him by Empress Yun Yao had been poisoned?

”Ling Chen, no man casually enters my palace; if you have entered, you must become my man.”

Empress Yun Yao sneered coldly, looking at Ling Chen as if he was a lamb ready for slaughter.

”Your Majesty, such matters should be a result of mutual affection, not forced.”

Ling Chen quickly replied.

”Haha, mutual affection, I cannot wait to slowly nurture feelings with you, after today, we shall be husband and wife in reality, let’s see you try to deny it.”

Saying that, Empress Yun Yao’s delicate form trembled slightly, and her Qiluo Gold Clothes slid off automatically; the next moment, a flawlessly beautiful jade-like body was completely exposed to Ling Chen’s view.
