Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 1230: Chapter 1229: Entering the Palace Again

”Hmm, I understand.”

Ling Yin nodded, seemingly understanding yet not quite.

”You little girl.”

Ling Chen patted Ling Yin’s head, then with eyes slightly focused, said, ”Since we’re free now, you should accompany me to visit my mother first.”

”Alright, Brother Ling Chen’s mother is also Xiao Yin’s mother.”

Ling Yin nodded happily.

At that moment, a figure dressed in luxurious attire walked in from outside the courtyard.

Ling Chen recognized the visitor; it was the court eunuch from the Empress Yunyao’s side within the palace.

”Why has he come?”

Ling Chen frowned slightly, could it be another summons from Empress Yunyao? Wasn’t it just recently that he was summoned?

”Congratulations, Brother Ling Chen, on obtaining the title of Ten Thousand Swords King.”

The young court eunuch clasped his fist towards Ling Chen to congratulate him.

”Just lucky.”

Ling Chen also cupped his hands, ”May I ask Your Excellency the court eunuch what urgent matter brings you here?”

”His Majesty urgently summons you; it appears he has an important task for Your Excellency Ling Chen.”

The eunuch’s face showed a hint of a smile.

”Important task?”

Ling Chen paused, then slightly frowned; what secret plan does Empress Yunyao have in store? If there were truly an important task, why not just let this person convey it, why must he enter the Imperial Palace?

”His Majesty’s thoughts are not something we mortals can easily guess.”

The eunuch replied with a faint smile.

”Very well, I will accompany you on this trip.”

Ling Chen nodded, perhaps the Empress Yunyao would not summon him for no reason; it might have something to do with the celestial phenomenon earlier.

”Xiao Yin, wait here for me, I will be back soon.”

After instructing Ling Yin, Ling Chen followed the court eunuch and left the inn.

Inside the Imperial Palace.

Counting the times, this was already Ling Chen’s third visit to the palace.

However, this time Empress Yunyao did not summon him in the Imperial Garden, but in her own palace.

”What significant matter requires discussion within the palace?”

Ling Chen couldn’t help but feel a bit suspicious; the Empress’s Palace, beyond eunuchs and palace maids, no man could enter.

”Most likely, it is precisely because it’s a secretive matter that you were summoned to the palace.”

The young court eunuch seemed to have read Ling Chen’s thoughts, and with a calm demeanor said, ”Could His Majesty be intending harm towards you?”

”Your Excellency jests; that is certainly impossible.”

Ling Chen responded calmly.

With the young court eunuch leading the way, Ling Chen found himself at the front of a deep palace within the palace grounds.

This palace, entirely glazed in azure color, without any impurities, seemed transparent, yet nothing inside could be seen from the outside.

”Enter by yourself,”

The young court eunuch looked at Ling Chen, speaking indifferently.

”Thank you.”

Ling Chen cupped his hands towards the eunuch and then walked directly into the Glazed Hall.

Cre-eak!

As Ling Chen entered the hall, the doors of the Glazed Hall automatically closed.

Gazing at the shut palace doors, the young court eunuch’s eyes showed a peculiar look, even he couldn’t understand why Empress Yunyao summoned Ling Chen to her palace, considering only palace maids and eunuchs could enter, no third type of person.

But this Ling Chen was a man.

At this moment, Ling Chen already entered the Glazed Hall, turning to glance at the tightly shut palace door, surprise flashed in his eye, but he didn’t ponder much on it, instead directing his sight ahead as he walked into the palace’s depths.

Inside the hall, a pink hue adorned with exquisite adornments could be seen everywhere, a faint fragrance permeated the air, imbued with an invisible allure.

Although not large, the interior of the Glazed Hall, decorated with red silk curtains, was complexly arranged; a glance revealed nothing of its true nature, akin to a maze.

”Come in.”

Suddenly, a lazy voice echoed, the red silk curtains unfolded automatically, revealing a path leading directly to the deepest part of the palace.

Feeling the peculiar atmosphere, Ling Chen merely furrowed his brow slightly before striding forward.

After walking forty to fifty steps, Ling Chen raised his hand to lift the beads curtain blocking his way, and immediately, a vivid and enchanting scene appeared before him.

In his line of sight appeared a magnificent blue bed, resembling a coiled dragon in its stance. Upon the bed lay shimmering gems akin to stars, slowly drifting above it like the starry sky.

Star Emperor Dragon Bed!

A name suddenly surfaced in Ling Chen’s mind; this Star Emperor Dragon Bed was a royal sacred object, not just a mere bed, but a powerful sacred artifact, cultivating upon it doubled the efficacy, stronger than so-called Spiritual Vein Cave Mansions.

Legend states this Star Emperor Dragon Bed was crafted by the Martial Emperor when conquering the Barbarian Tribe, slaying a barbarian dragon, and gathering rare gemstones worldwide, creating this bed which became the possession exclusive to successive Emperors of the Central Dynasty.

On the Star Emperor Dragon Bed, beneath the myriad of stars, lay a languidly reclining captivating silhouette.

She was adorned in Qiluo Gold Clothes, her presence gleaming, akin to a Fairy Maiden seated above the heavens, or a peerless ruler presiding over the world.

Her bare shoulders glowed like tender white jade, her eyes bright, lips shimmering, even a single finger appeared pristine and finely crafted.

Yet Ling Chen’s gaze swiftly passed over her crafted figure, settling on her face.

To his surprise, this time Empress Yunyao didn’t obscure her face; visible in clarity was her countenance.

It was indeed a face of irresistible allure, surpassingly beautiful beyond measure.

So this was Empress Yunyao’s true visage.

Ling Chen now somewhat understood Empress Yunyao’s previous sentiments; she didn’t wish to be judged solely by appearance; it wasn’t due to plain looks inviting ridicule, but because of unparalleled beauty, she didn’t desire her supreme power and status to be overshadowed by this peerless face.

Just then, Empress Yunyao looked up suddenly, her breathtakingly beautiful eyes sparkling as they met Ling Chen’s gaze, her smile radiating a mesmerizing charm.

”Greetings, Your Majesty.”

Suppressing his curiosity, Ling Chen bowed to Empress Yunyao; today’s unconventional behavior by her left him somewhat baffled, unclear of her intent.
