Ling Tian Sword God

The stands were already in an uproar.

”Peerless Sword is defeated! It turns out Ling Yu’s final trump card, like Peerless Sword, is the Sword Spirit Out of Aperture. Until the last moment, Peerless Sword couldn’t suppress Ling Yu and was defeated instead.”

”That’s to be expected. Reflecting on Ling Yu’s path forward, it’s absolutely astonishing, clearing obstacles and winning repeatedly, never a defeat, straight to the top.”

”Such a terrifying pace of progress is rare even in the last five hundred years of the ancient era.”

”The king of the younger generation has finally changed hands, Ling Yu will become the new legend.”

After the exclamations, people had already regarded Ling Chen as a legendary figure.

”Won!”

In the Ling Family’s area, everyone was initially stunned, and in the next moment, erupted into cheers like a mountain call and a tsunami.

First in the Heavenly Sword Conference!

For the current Ling Family, this is undoubtedly an unimaginable honor.

The last time the Ling Family won first in the Heavenly Sword Conference was twenty years ago by Ling Tianyu. However, Ling Tianyu was later expelled from the Ling Family. Before that, the Ling Family winning the Heavenly Sword Conference was already a distant memory.

Taking first in the Heavenly Sword Conference is extraordinarily significant for the entire Ling Family.

When Ling Chen, with slightly trembling steps, walked toward the Ling Family area, Ling Xue and Ling Tong, among others, felt a peculiar sensation in their hearts. The achievements of Ling Chen had already reached a level that demanded their reverence.

Everyone assumed it was just a boastful claim, but Ling Chen achieved it, not only did it, but went a step further and took the first place, standing at the highest point among the younger generation.

”Unexpectedly, the one standing in this position would be him.”

Sima Xiaoyao sighed, fearing that no one anticipated Ling Chen would defeat all the geniuses and reach this point.

”Talents emerge with each passing era, each holding sway for several centuries. From now on, it will be Ling Yu’s era for the younger generation.”

Murong Ziying also lamented.

After defeating Peerless Sword, Ling Chen’s name quickly ranked first on the Gold Ranking. Even though the final round of competition was yet to occur, Ling Chen’s position on top of the Gold Ranking was already firmly established.

The final round of competition was just a formality.

One hour later, with the help of Ling Lie and Ling Zhen, Ling Chen’s body had completely recovered, ready for the final round of competition.

In the final round, Ling Chen’s opponent was Liu Mengru, but Liu Mengru conceded after merely about fifty moves.

Because she knew she was not Ling Chen’s opponent. Moreover, she is Ling Chen’s cousin, and in this situation where Ling Chen has already claimed the first throne, she wouldn’t engage in an intense battle with Ling Chen.

There was no need.

With the conclusion of the final competition, it also announced the successful end of this Heavenly Sword Conference.

The top three were Ling Chen, Peerless Sword, and Liu Mengru.

From fourth to tenth were Sima Xiaoyao, Murong Ziying, Gui Tianchou, Kong Wenju, Tang Haotian, Xing Youfa, and Li Yifeng respectively.

In mid-air, the Gold Ranking trembled then flew back, directly into the hands of Empress Yun Yao sitting on the throne.

An elder from the Imperial Clan took the stage to announce the final results.

From fourth to tenth place, everyone received a bottle of Heavenly Elixir as a reward and were granted official titles and nobility ranks.

The Heavenly Elixir is the ultimate pill for the Sky Apex Realm practitioners, significantly promoting breakthroughs in the realm, one bottle of it is worth tens of thousands of Spirit Nurturing Pills.

As for the top three, Peerless Sword and Liu Mengru, both were rewarded with a portion of Saint Body Ointment.

This reward is extremely valuable.

In the previous Heavenly Sword Conference, only the genius who took first was rewarded with a portion of Saint Body Ointment, and now even the top three received it.

Sain Body Ointment is a treasure that many Half-Saint Powerhouses yearn for.

”The quality of the talents in this session far exceeds that of the last. Peerless Sword and Liu Mengru are equivalent to previous first-place winners, and Peerless Sword even surpasses the latter, so rewarding them with Saint Body Ointment is not excessive.”

Ling Lie shook his head, not surprised in the least.

”I wonder what reward the Empress will bestow upon Ling Yu.”

Ling Xue couldn’t help but anticipate.

”At least it would be a portion of Saint Body Ointment.”

Ling Tong beside her spoke.

”Since the top three all received Saint Body Ointment, Ling Chen’s reward surely won’t be Saint Body Ointment, it will be something more precious.”

”Rest assured, when you were in danger just now, the Empress transmitted a message to me promising to personally protect you. I think she values you highly, so this reward will certainly not be ordinary, it’s bound to be more valuable than Saint Body Ointment.”

Ling Lie said.

Listening to this, a hint of anticipation arose in Ling Chen’s heart. What could be more precious than Saint Body Ointment?

As for the title, Ling Chen wasn’t concerned. Titles are nominal without substantial benefit, the top ten were granted Viscount, while Peerless Sword and Liu Mengru were granted Earl, as for him, he might be granted Marquis.

Titles are not without utility; each month certain stipends can be drawn from the national treasury, and these stipends are not merely gold and silver, but various cultivation resources.

In the vast Imperial City Square, people began to orderly exit, contestants and powerhouses from various Saint Families also left the plaza. The Heavenly Sword Conference lasted for about four or five days, during which many hadn’t rested at all, now that it’s over, they naturally planned to leave and have a good rest.

Ling Chen didn’t rush to leave; he and the Ling Family remained in place. Shortly, indeed, a court eunuch who had been following Empress Yun Yao approached, ”Ling Yu, come to the palace with me, the Empress summons you.”

Upon hearing this, Ling Chen’s eyes lit up slightly; Empress Yun Yao, indeed, would follow tradition and personally summon him.

Honestly, he was quite interested in the world-renowned Empress Yun Yao, not because she was an absolute beauty, but because Empress Yun Yao’s rank on the Ten Thousand Years Green History Wall is second, only behind the Taibai Sword Immortal.

Such aptitude is terrifying.

Even if Ling Chen gave his all back then, it would be difficult to reach Empress Yun Yao’s level.

Curiosity is inevitable towards those stronger than oneself.

”Thank you for leading the way.”

Ling Chen nodded; the court eunuch before him was a favorite beside Empress Yun Yao. Though the eunuch, in the Central Dynasty, especially since Yun Yao’s reign, enhanced the eunuch’s power significantly, rumors of the eunuch’s arrogance and hegemony were plenty, many of which Ling Chen had heard.

Such a person, naturally, couldn’t be easily offended.

Exchanging a glance with Ling Lie and the others, he then followed the court eunuch toward the Imperial Palace.
