Ling Tian Sword God

Chapter 952: Chapter 951: An Unexpected Conclusion

”Damn it, how could our Ling Family’s luck be so bad.”

Seeing Ling Chen face off against Liu Mubai, Ling Lie’s expression also turned somewhat grim.

”Third Brother, seeing how calm Ling Yu looks, there’s no need to worry too much.”

Beside him, Ling Zhen shook his head, feeling that Ling Lie was making a fuss over nothing and was overly worried.

”I’m not afraid that Ling Yu will lose, but facing an opponent of this caliber, even if he can win, it will definitely take a lot of effort, possibly even using everything he’s got. All his tactics and trump cards would be exposed, which is disadvantageous for the later battles.”

Ling Lie expressed his concern.

”That kid is entering the field.”

On the side of the Imperial Clan, Li Tailong had been constantly watching Ling Chen. Upon seeing Ling Chen enter, he quickly informed the others.

”The opponent is Liu Mubai; what are this kid’s chances of winning?”

Li Yifeng asked with a smile.

”That kid’s just full of tricks, nothing real to offer. Running into Liu Mubai, he’s likely to be eliminated.”

Li Tailong laughed disdainfully.

”That’s too bad.”

Li Yifeng looked somewhat regretful, ”I originally wanted to teach this kid a lesson myself, seems like there’s no chance for that now.”

Liu Family seating area.

”Sister Mengru, I heard you’re interested in this Ling Yu, should I hold back?”

Liu Mubai smiled at Liu Mengru.

”Wait until you can beat him, then it’s not too late to say that.”

Liu Mengru shook her head. Others might not know Ling Chen’s true strength, but she was very clear on it. Moreover, Ling Chen being ranked sixth on the Green History Wall wasn’t something Liu Mubai could compare with.

”Oh? Sister Mengru has such confidence in this young man?”

Liu Mubai felt a bit uncomfortable, thinking Liu Mengru underestimated him, but he maintained a smiling face and said, ”Then I should really experience this Ling Yu young master’s strength.”

With a step on the ground, Liu Mubai leaped onto the arena.

On the opposite side of the arena, Ling Chen’s toes lightly touched the ground, like an ethereal white cloud drifting out, instantly appearing opposite Liu Mubai.

The crowd had already started heated discussions, but the content of their discussions was nothing but waiting to see how the younger generation of the Ling Family would ultimately fail, even how Ling Chen might be instantly defeated by Liu Mubai.

In their eyes, the gap between the two was too large; Ling Chen, merely a person at the Fifth Level of Sky Apex Realm, what could he possibly have that allowed him to be sent to compete. To know that other families’ weakest wouldn’t be below the Sixth Layer of Sky Apex Realm. It seemed the Ling Family really had no one left.

”Ling Yu, isn’t it? Sister Mengru speaks highly of you, hope you won’t disappoint me.”

Liu Mubai carefully examined Ling Chen, but no matter how he looked, Ling Chen seemed just ordinary to him; he couldn’t find any special traits and had no idea what Liu Mengru saw in this young man worthy of attention.

”Will you be disappointed? Try it, and you’ll know.”

Liu Mubai laughed, saying to Ling Chen, ”Very well, then give it your all!”

Ling Chen smiled faintly, saying nothing. With his right hand, he lightly touched the sword hilt. The Red Sky Sword responded, slicing through the air, leaving a dazzling red light in the midair.

Clang!

The Sword Light of the Red Sky instantly struck Liu Mubai’s Sword Light, and the blinding firelight blossomed open, like a Fire Dragon.

Liu Mubai barely had time to react; his feet scraped the ground, sliding back dozens of meters, his expression immediately grew extremely serious.

”Hmm? Resonance between Human and Sword reached such a degree!”

Ling Lie’s eyes showed slight surprise, somewhat pleasantly surprised.

The speed at which a Swordsman draws and strikes with their sword, once reaching a certain level, depends on the degree of resonance between human and sword. It’s divided into three levels: beginners only preliminary grasp, not proficient; proficient has reached a level of smoothness, without any errors; the upper level is more terrifying—Unity of Human and Sword, Sword Drawn from the Sheath, hitting wherever pointing, at will.

Ling Chen’s sword unsheathing told everyone that his sword was no ordinary sword; it had a transcendent, consummate flair.

”It’s simply unbelievable, the Ling Family still has a top-notch swordsman, launching a wild attack on Liu Mubai right off the bat. If not for Liu Mubai’s quick reaction, he might have lost by now.”

”Yeah, we thought Liu Mubai could easily crush this Ling Yu. Unexpectedly, with one sword stroke, Ling Yu shattered all our speculations and presumptions.”

The plaza’s atmosphere was ignited, prompting everyone to discuss all at once.

”Can’t be careless.”

Liu Mubai’s demeanor turned grave, all thoughts of underestimating vanished. He already saw Ling Chen as his greatest rival, knowing without exerting twelve points of effort, he really might lose this match.

Step by step returning to his original spot, Liu Mubai’s knife momentum grew ever stronger; with the final step taken, it burst completely out, with a fierce explosive momentum, entering a semi-crazed state. The dense Knife Light sealed off all of Ling Chen’s escape routes.

Facing this terrifying large-scale attack with the knife move, Ling Chen’s expression remained unchanged, his right hand grasped the Red Sky Sword horizontally, deploying the Speed Sword Domain; the sword swift as a meteor flashes in the void, constantly cutting apart the encroaching Knife Light, rendering it incapable of advancing an inch.

Chichi chichi!

Sword qi and Knife Light impacted the arena shield, though ferociously grand, crashing into the shield merely stirred a slight ripple.

Just as the shield isolated the shockwave, Liu Mubai launched another attack, suddenly leaping up, both hands gripping the Long Knife, slashing down with ferocious momentum, as if he intended to cleave the whole arena in two!

Boom!

The arena slightly shook, Liu Mubai flew into the air, his wild, violent Knife Light rolled out, pressing towards Ling Chen’s body.

”Hmm?”

Ling Chen naturally recognized the power of the slash; within the Knife Light contained a strange rotational power, once affected, no matter how strong the Protective True Qi, it couldn’t withstand and would surely be torn to shreds, caught in a desperate situation.

Swoosh!

Ling Chen activated True Qi, splitting the Red Sky Sword apart, dividing it into four. Ling Chen’s figure mixed into one of the Red Sky Swords, the four swords shot out across the arena, indistinguishable from one another.

Crack!

Ling Chen’s original position was forcefully split open a crack, along with two Red Sky Swords shattered to dust; the incredibly sturdy arena surprisingly bore a clear visible crack, indicative of that slash’s power.

The Knife Light missed its mark, Liu Mubai became vigilant, swiftly retreating.

Unfortunately, he was ultimately a step too slow; the crimson Sword Light first cleaving his Protective True Qi, during his jump mid-air, easily knocked him away, naturally by Ling Chen who just revealed himself.

”Concede!”

Ling Chen sheathed the Red Sky Sword.

”What?”

Stabilizing his figure, Liu Mubai looked down; he now had a new blood hole, shallow, but it was due to Ling Chen showing mercy.

This person is truly strong!

Meanwhile, on the spectator stand, there was already an uproar, clearly all shocked by such an unexpected result.
