Ling Tian Sword God

”Young man, cultivating the Gold Sword Pupil is not easy. I advise you to give up early, lest you waste your whole life.”

While Ling Chen was examining the sculpture in front of him, a slightly hoarse voice rang out. A blind middle-aged man in linen clothes walked over and gently advised.

”We once came here full of confidence just like you. But in the end, as you can see, for over a hundred years, no one has been able to break the curse of failure. The last person to successfully cultivate the Gold Sword Pupil probably dates back to nearly two hundred years ago.”

”If I had a chance to choose again, I definitely wouldn’t choose to cultivate the Gold Sword Pupil. Unfortunately, life doesn’t offer a redo. We cannot change our fates.”

A pair of young men and women also walked over from a distance, letting out a heavy sigh.

”Since you’ve all failed in cultivation, why do you insist on staying here? Isn’t it to continue understanding the Gold Sword Pupil?”

Ling Chen asked with some confusion.

”Of course not.”

The blind middle-aged man shook his head. ”The reason we stay here is to seek a slim chance to see the light again. Only by comprehending day and night before this Golden Eye Divine Beast is there a slight possibility of understanding the Gold Sword Pupil.”

Once they comprehend the Gold Sword Pupil, their eyes, which lost light, can naturally return to normal.

But after all these years, there has been no progress. None among them has succeeded.

”Give it up; you can’t succeed.”

The blind middle-aged man said.

”No. I still want to try.”

Ling Chen shook his head. His will could not be easily swayed by these people.

”Sigh...”

Everyone let out a sigh. They said no more, remembering how they too had been so stubborn, leading to irrevocable results.

”Concentrate True Qi in your eyes, then let your consciousness enter the Gold Eyes of the god beast to begin the trial.”

Ling Tingfeng stated calmly.

Nodding, Ling Chen sat cross-legged in the open area before the exotic beast sculpture.

Following Ling Tingfeng’s instructions, Ling Chen concentrated True Qi into his eyes, two green bits of True Qi gathering like vortices in his eyes. Ling Chen’s gaze then fell upon the golden pupils of the exotic beast sculpture, making eye contact with it.

As they locked gazes, a wisp of Ling Chen’s consciousness extended outward, and at the moment of contact with the sculpture’s eyes, the exotic beast sculpture suddenly shook.

The sculpture’s pair of golden eyes abruptly radiated an extremely dazzling golden light. Such intense light filled his vision, and a sharp pain spread from Ling Chen’s eyes.

At the moment when the consciousness was fully engulfed by the golden light, Ling Chen’s mind suddenly became hazy and soon felt the entire environment begin to shift dramatically. Once he calmed his mind, he found himself on a vast land.

On this land, it was flat as far as the eye could see, with the plains extending to the horizon, where heaven and earth seemed to converge.

A wild aura, carrying an ancient and desolate taste, brewed and rose amidst heaven and earth, much like the Ancient Land.

”Is this the spiritual world?”

Ling Chen’s face grew solemn. This place was the spiritual world of the Gold Sword Pupil martial arts.

Whoosh!

A strong wind swept across, whipping up a storm of flying sand and stones, filling this land with a boundless desolate feeling.

Crack!

Suddenly, the ancient ground trembled violently, and terrifying ripples swept forth, and down below, were huge cracks appearing. In the center of the four cracks, a giant cavity emerged.

Howl howl!

From the depths of the cavity, an extremely strange and enormous howling sound emerged, reverberating through the heavens and earth. The shocking roar directly caused one’s soul to tremble, leading to a dizziness.

Ling Chen’s pupils narrowed as he stared at the opened cavity, the origin of the howl, and faintly, he seemed to see a massive shadow writhing in the darkness.

Ling Chen’s gaze was tightly locked on the depths of the cavity when, in the next moment, his pupils suddenly contracted.

”Boom!”

In the instant Ling Chen’s pupils contracted, an unimaginably enormous black shadow, like an Earth Dragon, soared out from the colossal cavity, its vastness blotting out the sky.

The shadow was, in fact, an Ancient Giant Beast, its body long and somewhat dragon-like, yet shorter than a dragon. Its four feet moved, much like a Kirin, but its body was at least a thousand fathoms long, black as iron, with an overwhelming chill as if a storm sweeping through.

Atop this giant beast’s head, the most eye-catching were those massive eyes like Copper Bells, seemingly cast in gold, emitting an extremely dazzling brilliance.

In the moment of eye contact with those eyes, Ling Chen’s hairs stood on end.

”Is this the true form of the Golden Eye Divine Beast?”

Ling Chen murmured softly. If he was not mistaken, this colossal beast before him should be the true form of the exotic beast sculpture from the outside world.

It really was an Ancient Ferocious Beast.

Ling Chen’s heart shook. If not for his extraordinary willpower, just that moment of eye contact might have made him kneel directly before the Golden Eye Divine Beast!

After the Golden Eye Divine Beast appeared mid-air, its gaze quickly fell upon Ling Chen, making him feel like he was burdened with a weight of a hundred thousand pounds, the terrifying beast pressure almost suffocating him.

The Golden Eye Divine Beast’s gaze locked onto Ling Chen, and even from a distance, Ling Chen could clearly see a look of disdain, as if looking at an ant, in those golden pupils!

Ling Chen knew clearly that every person undergoing the trial entered this spiritual world and saw this Golden Eye Divine Beast. But none of the dozen or so people outside had passed the test, evidently all succumbing under the beast’s menacing power.

Just as Ling Chen pondered this, the Golden Eye Divine Beast hovering mid-air suddenly moved, its golden eyes locking onto him, and within them, golden light condensed and compressed at an astonishing speed.

Seeing this scene, Ling Chen couldn’t help but feel his scalp tingle. Before he could react, two astonishing golden beams emerged at a terrifying speed from the beast’s eyes, targeting his location!
